    Wild build! Well done!
  3. Yeah, but whats the fun in that! ?
  4. Interesting project! Welcome aboard.
  5. I'm in again. My entry is the AMT Monza 2+2. I'll be swapping out he SBC for a Cosworth Vega engine with a turbo. I was originally going to build a Euro-spec Monza but I'll go this route with some of the Euro-spec changes I was planning. Should be a fun build.
  6. Killer!
  7. Dennis Neal, Spc 4, Army, Unit Supply, Ft. Knox, KY. Never left the states because of a unique situation. 1975 - 1978.
  8. Nicely done!
  9. Thanks, they're from the Atlantis Mooneyes Dragster kit.
  10. Well, my reading of the question referred to the cam-driven pump on the racing engine illustration. To me, it looks like an old marine water pump repurposed, but then those of us who aren't well-versed in engine cooling wouldn't know that. Also, I was under the perhaps incorrect assumption that since there was no cooling fan there was no radiator, which is common for short racing runs where they just need to pump enough water through the engine to keep it from melting.
  11. Here is my entry for the contest. It will be an animal themed build called "Uncaged!".
  12. I agree. I was headed for bed on the last night of the contest and for some reason realized that I hadn't posted my pics. I empathize with those who didn't make it, as I would have voted for one of those who didn't, however I'm sure almost all of us have cell phones that you could add a reminder to hit you up the day before the deadline. If I'd missed, I feel it would have been on me, personally.
  13. I'm no Stude expert by any stretch, but I looked up the engine it appears to be and based on the stock setup in your instructions, and what the attached pic shows, you should plumb the water pump to the heads. Dunno which is in or out though.
  14. Awesome work! I love the way you ensured the engine would fit under the hood!
  15. Wild Custom Vehicle CBP Rules Custom vehicles only, the wilder the better. Can be a straight out of the box custom, kit bash, parts box build, rebuilder, or resin/printed kit/parts. Previously started builds can be no more than 25% completed. 1/24 or 1/25 scale only. Multiple entries allowed The object is to have fun and be creative but it should at least look like it could driven as 1:1 on a back road, but does not have to be DOT legal by any means. Curbsides are welcome as long as they don't conflict with the previous rules. You must show your base kit or initial pile of parts in this thread. If you have one, list your theme or focus. The contest will run from December 15, 2022 till December 31, 2023 unless otherwise agreed upon. There will be no voting or official judging but I'll keep a running list of entrants. Anyone who wishes to create a thread in the WIP section of the forum are welcome to do so, just post a link in the contest thread each time you update your WIP thread. No need to post photos on both. Finished builds can be posted in the "Under Glass" section under "Model Cars" with the title starting with "Wild Custom CBP" then your vehicle.
  16. If anyone needs inspiration and ideas go to the link and click on one's that have kitbash, custom, or scratchbuilt at the end of the title. http://www.showrods.com/home_page_links/gallery.html
  17. I hadn't thought of that but, no there is no age limit. If someone wants to wild out a C8, I say go for it.
  18. Okay, so this looks like a go! We have enough folks on board for an initial start, and I expect a few to come on later. Here is my outline of the scope. Feel free to offer any suggestions for change as I'll create a new thread for the contest with the final rules. Wild & Wacky Custom Vehicle Race Custom cars only, the wilder the better. Can be a straight out of the box custom, kit bash, parts box build, rebuilder, or resin/printed kit/parts. Previously started builds can be no more than 25% completed. 1/24 or 1/25 scale only. The object is to have fun and be creative but it should at least look like it could driven as 1:1 on a back road, but does not have to be DOT legal by any means. Curbsides are welcome as long as they don't conflict with the previous rules. You must show your base kit or initial pile of parts. Custom builds change over the course of a build, so I expect some of us to make changes mid-build as long as you stick with the same body. The contest will run from December 15, 2022 till December 31, 2023 unless otherwise agreed upon and you can enter multiple entries. There will be no voting or official judging. Anyone who wishes to create a thread in the WIP section of the forum are welcome to do so, just post a link in the contest thread each time you update your WIP thread. No need to post photos on both. Okay, that's my two cents, or whatever that adds up to now.
  19. As long as its closer to the Impala. I'd like to us to walk a bit more on the wild side but I'm flexible.
