  1. Details are looking dang near perfect in that engine bay Dan. Paint finish on the car body is pretty flashy too bro.
  2. Thanks Declan, Ken, Dan and Carl!!! Dan: I think he's got an idea that I may be building it for him as I asked him for a few pictures of the interior of his car. The idea is to personalize it some, but I didn't come out and tell him that. I managed to get the engine finished up this morning. I may come back and do a couple of touch ups here and there. It's all OOB except for the oil filter decal which I just had to add.
  3. Lemme know when you've got a new build thread going. I'll be there. Thanks on the Camaro front pal.
  4. I started on one of my favorite parts, the engine. This stuff from Vallejo is REALLY good. OMG it sprays on like a frickin' dream!!
  5. I've been working on a pair of 1970-1/2 Camaros for the last couple of months. I am almost finished with my Z/28 version and was just about to get started on the Baldwin Motion Camaro when I found out that a good friend of mine at work is going to retire in late November. He owns a 2017 Camaro "Fiftieth" Edition and I thought I'd build him a going away present. It's rare when I do this as I always tend to feel under the gun of a time frame in which to get a build finished in time. In any case, Here's the kit. I already know this; I'm going to have to address........if you guessed it....you're right....the ride height at the front of the car.
  6. Oh WOW!! Now this.....should be a fun build to watch.
  7. I'm using the Vallejo Metal Colors line up and man.....these things flow excellent through an airbrush but can be brushed on for small parts.
  8. I'm definitely gonna be in on this one. I learn a TON by watching your builds.
  9. The attention to detail in this build is what really throws it over the top. That and your painting effects on the mummy head. Very well replicated Dave!!
  10. This thing is SOOOOOO frickin' cool!! I never thought I would've said that looking at the box but you're sure as heck pulling off some good stunts with this one Dave!!
  11. I saw you mentioned that you're not a big fan of exotics which is probably why I've never seen a car like this from you BUT.......you sure managed to whip this one into some good shape JR. Gorgeous car ....even without the decals.
  12. Holy SCHMOKES man!!! That is one cleanly built model right there. Brilliant paint, foiling and detail work. Looks as real as can be.
  13. Thanks you guys. I managed to get the rear bumper touched up and attached this morning. Other items of this morning's progress were: 1. Battery reinstalled. I had it installed prior to the core support install but it the core support wouldn't install cleanly with the battery in place so....I had to take it out. 2. Radiator hose/ thermostat housing painted and installed 3. Alternator adjustment bracket re-attached. Just too much handling while fitting the chassis into the body. I figured there'd have to be a casualty along the way and I got lucky with just the bracket falling off. At one point during the chassis fitment into the body process I really thought I was going to ruin the whole build. 4. Cut front bumperettes from their sprues and currently soaking them in Easy Off. After cleaning them up I'll treat 'em to a good ol' coating of Alclad. 5. Aligned the tail pipes (during the chassis install both pipes moved on me) About all that's left now is the light polishing on the whole body, painting and install of the outside rear view mirrors, front bumperettes install and then emblems/ badges application and we'll be off to glamour shots. Here's a couple more teaser shots till then:
  14. I hear you on the frustrations with this kit as there are a number. The fact that you got it all together with the front subframe on is an absolute miracle. I left my subframe off until after I fitted the chassis into the body (which was no small feat) and I still felt like I was going to break something big when fitting these two major pieces together. Then.....theres the part where the leading edge of the dash contacts the windshield. Good LORD!! I thought I was gonna loose my everlovin' mind!! There are many other areas of difficulty and challenges with this model but they yield at great result when patience is used. All in all, it looks like you were able to get 'er to cross the finish line and in good style at that. Your efforts are definitely to be applauded on such a difficult kit James.
  15. Heck yeah that came out nice!! From watching your WIP on it and now the finished pics it definitely does build up into a great finished car. Awesome work James!!
  16. I like that color on the hot rod version. NICE!!! Your stock version looks great too. Sorry to hear about the radiator hose.
  17. Very interesting take on this kit and great ideas going into it.
  18. Pretty cool build Jeremy. Sorry I didn't comment on this one when you posted it pal. Hope everything is going alright in your neck of the woods.
  19. VERY NICE detailing. Looking forward to more on this car.
  20. Can't go wrong with a big block Vette and you're doing a great job with the detailing so far Curtiss. Will be watching this one.
  21. DADGONNIT I missed the completion of this car Curtiss. I really like what you've done with this one and REALLY like the color in which you used for it. Awesome build from every angle and I really enjoyed following along on the build.
  22. Thanks Carl !! Ok gang!! It's update time!! After two and a half weeks without any progress reports, I finally have something worth taking photos of. Here she is with the stance that I wanted and the wheel/ tire combo. All I can say is that this is one of the HARDEST car models to get the body over teh chassis that I've EVER dealt with. When I finally did manage to get it installed all the way into the body, the leading edge of the dash contacted the bottom of the windshield mounting tabs causing the whole front of the chassis to not seat properly. My fix was to trim the leading edge of the dash back until the body slid into the correct position. Total PIA but I got it. Here are the results of the labor over the last few weeks. Almost to the finish line with this one. Aside from the dash/ windshield fit issue this has been a great kit to work with. Aside from wheels and tires she's looking very close to what I wanted the outcome to be.
  23. Don't know what you've got.....till it's gone.....
  24. Sing it brother. I do feel your pain and know exactly what you're talking about. Looking forward to the recovery efforts Martin.
  25. WOW!! You sure turned out a beauty with this one Mike!! Despite the hardships it gave you it looks like you won out man.
