  1. I've been out of the loop for a while on all forums for the last couple of months but when I DO come back, I find that you're finished with this beast of a build. I don't know how I can convey to you the fact that I loved each and every page of this build as it was coming together. To say that this end result is a masterpiece would be simply an understatement. Along the way I feel as that I've gained a true friend as well. I'm definitely looking forward to future projects out of you and learning even more from watching you. Hat's off to you bro. You sir.....are da MAN.
  2. Dan: Hell yeah man. He just SHOT up!! I think he's planning on being at the NATS with me. Carl: Thanks ol' buddy and you're right there. Got the body prepped, primed and then color shot on. We'll be going with Raspberry Red from MCW.
  3. Coming along nicely on this one.
  4. Thanks, you guys. Interiors and engines are my favorite parts of auto building. My son and I last Saturday a few minutes before 1 am. He had just gotten the Lego Republic Gunship set and was putting that together and invited me to build models with him as a father and son gig. I think we started somewhere around 9 and spent the next 4 hours together. Great time we'll both remember that one for a loooooong time. Ummmm.....Dan......he's gotten a little bigger than the last time you saw him. lololol and then here he is with it all completed. He's hell on wheels with getting these things done in a quick manner. lol
  5. It's all the little details that'll add up to really set this one off Dan. I don' think you're forgetting much in that engine bay.
  6. An amazing build with amazing paint work. Everything about this build is something to be admired. Very cool 1:1 Camaro as well. One of these days........ I've got a 94 C1500 that I've stuffed a 406 small block in that gets around pretty good, but it doesn't have the character that a classic sports car does. I don't see many 327's anymore so that's an added plus right there.
  7. Yikes!!!! Those mold lines are right in the middle of all the detail alright. One has to wonder why they had to put them right smack dab in the middle of where all the details are. Looking forward to seeing you work your magic on that part Dave.
  8. You and these hood hinges of yours is just one of the things that sets builds like this apart from others. This is something that I'm really looking at doing with my own builds.
  9. Shuweeeeeet!!! Wow man. This is gonna be so frickin' COOL!!!
  10. What a beautiful color on that car Curtis. I'm catching up to a couple of points on this build. The interior has a really well detailed look to it and is set off with the different shades and lusters of black to add depth and that engine detailing is going to make that whole engine bay area shine!! Just a quick observation but you may want to take a Q-tip to polish out that fingerprint on the driver's side rocker cover. Fantastic work going into this ride.
  11. There's alot of it out there and I'm with you on that Carl. I learned a hard lesson a few builds back.
  12. Jeez!! Un................believable!!
  13. Thanks Ken!! All four tires ready for the dull coat now......
  14. I had one of these kits in the stash. Should've built it. Your progress is looking great. Love the 390 V8 and the paint work looks fabulous JR!!
  15. Keeps getting better Dave!!
  16. Looking very much forward to this Rex!!
  17. Whoa HO HO!!! Looky what we've got here!! VERY cool and love the paint and woodgrain effects Mike. Hell yeah!!!
  18. Beautiful detailing as usual Steven. I've got the same opinion about convertibles getting more attention than usual as the interiors are little showcases in themselves.
  19. If your detailing and paint work are on par with that figure then we're all in for a show.
  20. Those air cleaner decals on late 60's / early 70's can be tricky but it looks like you got yours to lay down nicely. When I first started out in modeling I used thread as for spark plug wires which worked fairly well for a while and then I discovered the material for them from Lex's Scale Modeling. Check it out: Lex's Scale Modeling Detailing Supplies (bravehost.com) Coming along nicely here Ken
  21. Looks good from the angles I'm lookin' at. That engine looks good too.
  22. Next step......wheels and tires. As you can see in the comparison photo below, molded tire lettering removal in progress and the replacement logo decals below...
  23. Thanks Carl. Glad you're here dude. Really appreciate the very kind comments Mike. 'Preciate it Ed. I used Testors Semi Gloss Black Lacquer as a covering base to completely cover the orange molded plastic. After that I used MM Semi Gloss Black acrylic because it's a little more toned down in luster in comparison to the lacquer based semi gloss black that I used as a base. I masked around the fabric sections of the seats and used MM Flat Black acrylic to replicate the low luster of the fabric. Dash and door panels received the Testors SG Black and then MM SG Black. Thanks Danno! Thank you Dan. Dang it ....I missed the dang HAMMS show this year. No worries....I'll be at the NATS for sure.
  24. I'm tuned in to this one ol' buddy. Got any updates on her?
  25. Jeez!!! I really like all this custom work going on Martin. Fantastically done so far and I'll be tuning in to this one.
