  1. Today saw the completion of the chassis. I recreated the body color overspray on the bottom as well. I should be able to start on the engine now.
  2. And it's for that reason right there that this is my go-to forum for knowledge and attaining new skills. Not only that but the vast majority of folks here are very kind and helpful. Looking forward to more progress on this beauty of a build Steve.
  3. Very cleanly built motor and nicely detailed so far!!!
  4. Heya Monty. Already addressed both concerns. I built this kit pretty close to 20 years ago and I noticed that. Terrible TERRIBLE look when built too so I didn't want to repeat the mistakes of the past. Thanks for the heads up though brutha.
  5. Yeppers......there goes my ADD again. Reading waaaay too quickly. Thanks for pointing that out.
  6. Thanks Rob. I hadn't thought about that for some strange reason but you're right. May haveta see if I can source a belt set up with a power steering pump. I'll be looking into this and thanks for pointing that out. I should know better as auto repair is what I do for a living. lol Thanks for your comments Dave. Good note on working on the exhaust system with the parts sprue still attached to the exhaust. Lots easier to work with it would seem......no pun intended. lol
  7. Thanks Bob!! It's been on mine now for 10 years. lol It's been a while since I've posted an update so I thought I'd give one here. The chassis and proper stance has been the topic of building over the course of the last couple of weeks. One of the things that surprised me was the Fords use of red oxide primer on the bottom side of these cars. Never saw any of that on any of mine but hey....by the time I got those cars it was a good 25 years on down the line. lol Just an FYI. I did end up getting ahold of Round 2 and asking for the proper Wide Oval white lettered tires. I talked to what sounded like a kid on the phone and it didn't appear that he knew too awful much about the product but was willing to help out. We'll see what I get in the mail. Chassis in progress without the exhaust on just yet: Speaking of exhaust systems, I'll be starting on that next so I can get the chassis part of this build behind me. One thing I notice alot of times on the bottom side of completed auto builds is the presence of seams on the exhaust pipes. These tend to be overlooked by some modelers so I thought I'd point these seams out on the exhaust pipes in this kit. I posted this on other forums and have to chose my audience when covering stuff like this but just in case there's anyone out there looking on that hasn't considered or hasn't thought of fixing the exhaust then I'll cover this in detail. This is freshly cut from the sprue so you can still see the sprue attachment point but check out those nasty seams on the exhaust pipes. Those......will be disappearing soon. More updates coming over the next few days on this subject.....
  8. I like the fact that you're making this into an LX and that you're using a mix of parts from each kit. Gonna make for a good finish.
  9. Thanks Ed!! Really appreciate the good word bud.
  10. Good lookin' Super 's Ken!!!
  11. Really love the whole look to this car Mike!! I already love Draglites so that was definitely a good move and then you add the paint job that's on this thing. Fantastic build brother.
  12. Do I ever remember seeing these things as a kid. Interiors were as roomy and comfy as a living room. Big ol' cushiony seats and LOTS of leg room. Good work on these!!
  13. I don't see stuff like this built up much so when they do come up I really enjoy looking at them. Very good work with both of these cars.
  14. Stance and paint are all THAT......and a bag of party mix!!
  15. Been a while since I've peeked in on one of your builds. This one's looking good so far Andre.
  16. Very good weathering on this build.
  17. Thanks Dave!! I've already got one....I just didn't have these pictures in there yet. lol . Thanks Mike! Good looking build and good looking 1:1 Perry!!!
  18. Now that.............is BAD A$$!!!!!
  19. Very nice job on that front end. That's gonna make a WORLD of difference!!!
  20. Thanks Carl and right you are pal. I'll be taking the negatives to get processed sometime this week and should have some more pictures up of the 1:1 car. REALLY stoked to get those back.
  21. I also found me some BONUS SHOTS of my old car!!!!! I'm currently doing a bathroom renovation to our master bathroom and needed some tools that were hidden away in the "house toolbox" by my wife. While looking for the tools I found a small plastic box with.......a whole load of pictures of my old blue Mustang PLUS a slew of negatives that I'll be taking to a photo developer here in town to have pictures printed up with. Frickin' SCORE!!!! Here are those missing pictures of my '69 Mach 1 351W in my '67 while it was under construction. Man.....I haven't seen these things in 10 years. Now.....what tha hell were they doing in the dang tool box for?
  22. Did some work stance wise this morning. The front got some re-positioning of the front spindles, a little sanding here and a little drilling there. All the rear springs needed was a slight re-arching. Now it's starting to look more like I want it to with a slight forward rake.
  23. Good idea on the headlights. I've got both of these kits and couldn't believe they tried to get by with chrome headlights on the AMT offering. Crazy.
  24. I'll be tuning into this one Gareth!!!
