  1. I just checked the Ramchargers site and they state 1974 as the first year this car was run. There are so many difference between a stock '70 Cuda interior and how it appears now. Any time during its racing life something may have been updated/changed for whatever reason. Edit Even the Ramchargers site has contradicting info on this car. In one place they say '74 and in another stated its debut was at the Gator Nationals in '75.
  2. I would say as originally raced back in 1970 it would have had a black dashboard. It could have had a black or a white interior with the black dash as new in 1970. All other colors would have had a matching color dash. Also the seat insert material in the restored version does not appear to be the original material used in 1970. The insert stitching pattern is also incorrect for a stock 1970 Barracuda seat. I would say sometime during its racing career changes were made to the interior as the restored version depicts. Also, the dash & door panels in the restored version appear to have a non original pearl tint to them.
  3. I know you stated it was styrene, but could it possibly be resin? Modelhaus sells a '49 and '50 Ford 2 door sedan roof.
  4. Great photo resource, thanks for posting the info and link.
  5. Ron, the 39/40 sedan box art models have been on my long list to do also. I have a set of near mint original decals, I just need to have someone make new ones for me. Between the sedan delivery and sedan kits I've also managed to get most of the parts to build the custom version. It would be great if R2 would reissue the sedan with the original parts and decals as they did with the '36 Ford. The body/hood tooling could use a little cleaning up based on the past kits (Millennium Issue) I have.
  6. Maybe we should be happy that Palmer is no longer producing "models" !!!!!
  7. I plan on doing a few curbsides down the road to improve on my basic skills.
  8. An addition to my post on the first page of this thread about Hobby Lobby. See post #20. I checked with the person that handles the models at my local HL in Mooresville, NC. They will hold an item that was special ordered for two weeks from the day it comes in. They will honor that weeks 40% off coupon for the special ordered item. They can only special order an item that they normally stock, but you can order more than one kit. You will need a separate discount coupon and someone else to use it for you.
  9. Scott There is a portion of HULU that is free. I'm the same way $ wise, one of my sayings is "If it's free its for me!!" They keep changing around their homepage, you may have to search a bit to find the Classic TV Shows. They have several dozen that are free.
  10. Scott Also check out HULU for some of the old shows. Click on the Classics icon when in the TV section. YouTube has been a favorite for old shows also. I've been watching episodes of 77 Sunset Strip over the past month. I also listen to Old Time Radio shows on the net such as The Shadow, Sam Spade. Phillip Marlowe, Fibber McGee and Molly and so on. Jesse Wanted Dead or Alive is a classic. I also try to catch Have Gun, Will Travel with Richard Boone and Bat Masterson with Gene Barry. There's also Lawman, Shotgun Slade and quite a few other 50's Westerns on YouTube that can be found.
  11. METV is one of my favorite channels. For quite awhile I only had a digital antenna hooked up to the TV. Now I have basic cable and METV is probably the most watched channel after the PBS channels.
  12. Mike, check out my post on page one of this thread about HL stocking/rain check policy.
  13. Impressive builds !!!
  14. Tom, I may have taken some of your points out of context. I guess the best thing to say is that most of us are in agreement of you never know what the manufacturers may kit. I do remember the old SAE polls, and yes we have gotten quite a few of those requests. Lets hope that we may see some of the more feasible suggestions down the road.
  15. Tom, I see your point but there is still a valid reason for "wish lists" like this. Granted some of the requests are for OOP kits. Perhaps the builder would like the same subject redone as a better detailed kit with todays tooling technology? Could Revell have made a marketing error by kitting a '67 Camaro? AMT did one 37 years ago and it has been reissued numerous times over the years. Also some of the requests are most likely to be a dud sales wise, but it doesn't hurt anyone to put the suggestion out there.
  16. I'd like to suggest everyone go back and read the entire first post in this thread. It started out as a great thread until it got sidetracked.
  17. Tim, thanks for the tire info. This kit is now a definite must have.
  18. Tim, another great review. This one is on the must get list. Tim, what tires does it come with? Are slicks included ?
  19. Fantastic review Tim. It's a nice kit but I'll wait and see if they do a drag version before I buy one. I'd say this more of a 1 1/2 in 1 kit instead of a 2 in 1. They could have at least included some headers and side pipes for the supposed race version.
  20. 1) '62 Ford Galaxie Club Sedan 2 door post 2) '64 to 66 Ford pickup long or short bed, 3) '57 to 60 Ford pickup long or short bed
  21. I think a thread like this may be beneficial. You would have to hope that the powers to be in charge of new kits may be reading these threads. Reading through from page one that was started in February of 2013, I spotted several requests that are on the shelves now or are being tooled. There were a few requests for a 67 or 68 Camaro from Revell 67 Camaro Out now There were a few requests for a 76 Torino/S&H 4th Quarter Revell There were a few requests for a 65 Belvedere Mobeuis is doing a 65 Satellite There was one for a 65 Comet Mobeuis is doing a 65 Comet Cyclone There was also a request for a stock height 48 Ford sedan with period correct speed parts. I had a discussion with Revell last week about that and doing a stock height coupe also. If others feel the same way, we may see it one day. There were several other great requests, who knows what we might see in the future because of this type of thread. You have to wonder how many older threads about what you want to see made were read by the manufacturers.
  22. It was mentioned earlier in this thread that Hobby Lobby prices were above MSRP. I finally found four of my most recent purchases (past 6 months) from the Hobby Lobby store in Mooresville, NC. AMT Double Dragster Tin Kit $29.99 Round/2 MSRP $39.99 May have been a HL error in pricing, I used a 40% off coupon $19.48 with tax AMT '36 Ford $23.99 Round/2 MSRP $24.99 With a 40% off coupon $15.58 with tax AMT 25T w/ chopped coupe $21.99 Round/2 MSRP $23.99 With a 40% off coupon $14.29 with tax AMT LN8000 race car hauler $37.99 Round/2 MSRP $37.99 With a 40% off coupon $24.68 with tax The Hobby Town USA in Mooresville, NC is above MSRP on most kits. Their price on BMF was 8.95 the last time I checked a few weeks ago. BMF's suggested list is 6.75. Buying BMF direct has a disadvantage of $11.25 shipping/handling when I checked last week. I bought some at the CMK Summer Classic this past Saturday for 7.00 a sheet. My Michaels here in Salisbury seems to be at MSRP. The problem with this Michaels is that they never seem to have anyone keep the models in the correct slots price wise. If you find a kit that you are interested in buying you usually find it was in the wrong price code slot. None of the kits have a price sticker on them. Both HL's I go to in Kannapolis and Mooresville, NC are well maintained.
  23. Thanks Wayne, Bob, and Ace. This is only my third build in over 20 years so it's basically a build to try and improve my skills.
  24. Real S'Cool. Very interesting concept.
  25. 1962 Ford Galaxie two door Club Sedan 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Hardtop 1948 Ford coupe and sedan with stock height roof I'd buy multiples of these
