  1. Ha...."black hole". I hear that! Mine has in the meantime a collection of tee-niny parts too.
  2. Hi Gary, those are very interesting old pics! Also the captions. Concerning the plates mounted to the rear axle, the word "snappage" is interesting, I don't recall ever reading that word before. Cool too, I've never seen the restraint cable for motor blocks either. That will be a nice feature for upcoming builds should I choose to make one from the 60's. I didn't realize the details about the fixed rear end either, thanks for showing this. OK, spill the beans now. What on earth does the wood do in the Willie Borsch car? Michael
  3. Joe, that's really a great hobby room. Spacious, several rolling stools, small type stuff on the wall and out of the way. Very good. Excellent too, you have chests mounted on wheels! I do that too. The cleaning woman has little excuses this way. No dust on the floor. Question: When small parts get gravity and fall, do you have soft knee pads available? Man, I watched a small round metal part fall the other day....it's still down there somewhere. I have carpet. Your floor is tiled. Looking good!
  4. Now there's a name gone now. Man, reading this stuff lets me know my number gets closer.
  5. Hi Lee, I've been looking for a copper base for H of K paint and haven't had much luck. I've had some success though with clearing Alclad Chrome and Burnt Metal and Aluminum with H of K Clear, lacquer base mind you. Meaning lacquer over Alclad can work. This works OK. With some professional help I've acquired a few tricks with lacquer, H of K candies over Humbrol enamels, but not an easy method to explain here. Humbrol has a copper that works well with reddish candies and it kicks butt. They have a cool bronze too that really opens up opportunities. This info is only meant for support in using lacquer based paints, like House of Kolor. This reflects my experience to date. Michael
  6. Fishing. I envy you now. Being from Florida, if you can't go offshore to fish, then a river full of trout is my 2nd choice. Especially with my Dad and brother. Lucky you. Enjoy!
  7. Hey Rob, you did good. I think this new style dull paint job is done very nicely. I'm seeing more and more of these on the road.
  8. That hurts my eyes! It sure is well done though. Beautiful weathering.
  9. Achtung! Oh boy! Ole Onkel Adolf wouldn't like that motor. I do though. Michael
  10. Hello guys, I'm venturing into new terrain again. I see fire extinguishers mounted in race cars (Drag Racing) and would like to know if they're driver manipulated, or do these systems come on by heat sensors or something of this category? I can imagine they're designed to protect the pilot. Maybe too for the motor area for containment? Take this for instance, the Ramchargers F/C restoration from the mid 70's, on the side of the cockpit; I'd be grateful for any info or links. This does not have to particularly be drag cars only as I'm sure the same applies generally for race cars. I haven't a clue about details other than the way they're supposed to look. Thanks in advance, Michael
  11. That's looking really nice, I like the motor color! Cool model.
  12. Beautifully done Brad, nice bends! The motor looks super nice sitting there in the frame. This car is looking good.
  13. That's a real nasty looking ride. Very nice work!
  14. The Hemi fits nicely there between the fenders. Looking good.
  15. It appears that things are shaping up nicely. Looking good Billy.
  16. Didn't it have a cool chopped top though?
  17. Very nice start Bill. The original car is amazing! Super body, and the interior is well designed. Reminds me of the old Chris Craft Century, those mahogany, insanely beautiful sports boats. I have a good memory of those babies. To imagine such a finished hot rod in those days is really cool. I like this topic.
  18. This build is really nice looking. Great detailing and very convincing. Looking very good.
  19. Joe, good preparation you show there. Was the ice cream good? Also, and we can all learn from this, you use a disenfectable file. Very important. Guys, how the heck else can we get really clean work to show on the forum?
  20. Hi Gary, hope you get those ugly beasts out of your way soon. I'm with Don R. on this. Fuel and oil systems and vintage F/C and Altered rear end setups would be great! As for the interiors, pedals and steering, like the way things are from a drivers view. Anything would be great. Details on these fabricated cars from the 70's and earlier are not easy to come by. Thanks. Michael
  21. Hi Tommy, an old PC mouse has "fuel filters" the size you need. Some nice wires and other automotive electrical things in 1:25 there too.
  22. Ray, that setup is looking wicked! Michael
  23. Yeah, especially when they had no clothes on. That was a nice car.
  24. Hi Rob, very clean looking build there, I like it! The body proportions look really good to me, this Revell kit looks like the one to get. Very sharp.
  25. Yes, those engines are all good looking. Heck, I'm even thinking of building several others I have laying around in the shadows.
