  1. You'll always have my support! We are truly like-minded, when it comes to those little details. I'm looking forward to what you have in store, next!
  2. Thanks, Francis! I'm thinking it'll look okay!
  3. Eagerly awaiting 212. I just now renewed, so, I am good for another year!
  4. I've found beeswax very helpful in lubricating saw blades and drill bits. I have one of those plastic containers of it, from the sewing department. It has slits in it. Just drag the saw blade through it. It makes a huge difference, in the saw's performance. It cuts with less effort, and that makes for truer cuts, more easily.
  5. This is coming together beautifully, Francis. I really love the hood hinges! Everything, however, is just right on. Excellent work, my friend!
  6. Thanks, Larry. I got a new pair of printer cartridges and finished the decals. "Pandora's Box" is finally, completely finished!
  7. Just because I took a break to build the Chevy II doesn't mean that I've forgotten this. I have created a bundle of snakes!
  8. I realized that, as soon as I posted. Duh, on me!
  9. Monkees were mid-'60s. Happy Days several years later.
  10. And, for some of us, it's fun to mess around, and fix it. Different strokes!?
  11. Thank, Bill. I am planning to do just as you suggested. I need a new printer cartridge, so I can do that--and print the rest of the decals for my Chevy II. So far, I only have a half-hour or so, in this thing. I know there's more, to do, but, I figured to at least get a start with this kit's most glaring inaccuracy. I appreciate your comments, sir!
  12. In one of the other threads on this kit, I can only recall seeing one mention of the sail panels. I don't always notice inaccuracies with models, but, these things are, well...(I’m astonished)?! They doglegged the wrong end of them! I guess the straight drop at the top should not actually be part of the sail panel, but only the roof panel. I started messing around with the one I had here, to see if I could make it look better. Has anybody else attempted to, or actually corrected one of them? I'm interested in any feedback, or further thoughts about fixing this thing!
  13. I got these Gofer decals, and got the class designation and comp numbers on the Chevy II.
  14. That fuel shutoff is great! It will go right along with the rest of this car. You've got me thinking about getting my Surfers car down off the shelf!
  15. Looking good! You know I love me an early Chevy II.
  16. You'd be hard pressed to beat that finish. That stuff looks great!
  17. Indeed! We have plenty of other things to spend our money on!? I mean, if I can make it...I'm cheap, that way!
  18. I know I've seen you mention it, before--there's always the old technique of rubbing metal powders into a base coat. I think experimentation with that method over different sheens and colors of base coats could provide some interesting and useful results. I've really only tried it, once, on bare plastic, over brushed-on regular clear varnish. For little to no effort, the results were pleasing. I imagine that given a variety of powders and base coats, the palette could be pretty extensive.
  19. AMT also did most of these in 1/43 scale, or at least very similar. I have a few of them lying around here, in parts.
  20. That is beautiful work, Ian! Great job!
  21. I've posted this, before. Here's Tom West's take, on the whole thing. It's from my old StraightLineModeler website.
  22. I used Floquil Crystal Cote, on this 'Cuda, almost 40 years ago. The epoxy I used to glue the windows has yellowed, but, the clear is still clear! I wish they still made that stuff, too.
  23. You haven't lived, until you've spent a night in "The Zoo", in Brainerd!
