That is very nice, like the detailing and cleanliness of the build. I really dig those Bilsteins on the rear! -
Keep an eye out at swap meets or on eBay, they are out there. Revell is about due to reissue one version or another of the trailer.

Tower Hobbies free shipping?
mikemodeler replied to Ben's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In the past when I have ordered from them, they offered free shipping on $25 or more. I believe the coupon code was 01A15, but could be wrong. Some searching should yield the correct code. -
More like "Who doesn't?" LOL I have at least 20 WIP, half of them Jeeps or trucks and many of them could be completed in 30-60 minutes, if I didn't get distracted!

76 Gremlin???

Coming along nicely, love the color choices. Where did the wheels and tires come from? They don't look like kit pieces to me. -
As funny as that sounds, replacing air with nitrogen does have an impact on your tires. Unfortunately, most of the dealers do that to new cars and add $100 to the window sticker!

The correct spelling of Canada is: C - eh- N- eh- D- eh ! My first trip there was 10 years ago and when I rent to the rental car counter, the agent was polite and reminded me that speed limit signs and road signs were in kilometers and not miles. He went through some other traffic laws and pointers and when he got done, asked if I had any questions. Being the smart @$$ that I am, I asked him which side of the road should I drive on? He took me seriously and said it was the same as the USA !

As someone who has spent better than 30 years in the automotive biz (parts, service, aftermarket sales, manufacturing) there are several schools of thought on the subject. 1. Depending on how the vehicle is driven and the climate in which it operates, flushing the brake fluid is a good idea. Higher humidity and infrequent vehicle use can contribute to the demise of the fluid. 2. It is a service that ALL vehicle manufacturers and MANY shops will DEFINITELY tell you is necessary for proper operation of your vehicle, but reality it is a service that doesn't always need to be done. If major work is done to a brake system ( caliper replacement, wheel cylinder replacement or master cylinder replacement), most of the brake fluid will be replaced anyway. 3. Modern brake fluid (Dot 4 and higher) is more resistant to moisture and if the system is kept sealed, flushing isn't necessary. At the end of the day, it comes down to your personal decision and how you want to spend your money. I have never flushed the brake fluid in any of my vehicles and have put over 100,000 miles on several of them and haven't had a problem. Oil changes with quality oil and transmission flushes are more important to longevity in modern cars.

That is along the lines of what I was thinking. If you have some treadplate material you could also scratchbuild a bumper. I think a push bumper on a truck lifted like that looks useless as it wouldn't be real useful. -
My thoughts exactly. I would even go so far as to strip the chrome and re-spray them silver or maybe even go with a light gray

240 Robert Ford Bronco
mikemodeler replied to malito's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Interesting build, should be nice when you have it done. The real vehicle you have pictured is actually a 1979 model year and there was an AMT kit offered for that vehicle. It can be hard to find and kind of expensive, but it is out there. Revell offered a 1980 version of that vehicle in a kit, but it too is hard to find and expensive. If you are looking for some similar wheels, check out Scenes Unlimited and I am sure you will find tires and wheels. Those Jerry cans on the back should be able to find easily enough. -

Looking good , as usual, and should be nice when you have it done! I suggest a winch bumper on the front instead of the push bar. -

That is looking very good Casey. makes me afraid to build mine because I don't have the patience to improve it like you have. -
Being reported that it might be a suicide. Too many talented people leaving us and even more sad when they do them selves in.

I only saw a resin half cab, 2 pieces, no mention of flares or other pieces. The half cab was $16, plus $4 shipping, or basically the same price as a complete kit, because Tower Hobbies has this kit for $19.95 with free shipping. I think I will wait to see if Revell tools up a half cab or for that matter, I can probably create my own half cab for less than $20.

Missed seeing the ACME guys but totally understand given the circumstances. It was a great show Bob and I was pleasantly surprised at how well attended it was!
