Resin 1967 Chevy Pickup?
mikemodeler replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Any opinions on the quality of the RMR kits? I see some kits that I would like to get but am not familiar with the quality. I suspect that at the price point listed, they aren't in the same league as say Modelhaus , but hopefully not a resin blob either. -
SCMA MIDLANDS CONTEST & MID Year social

Would love to be there but that is the day my wife chose for our daughter's graduation party. Have fun without me and as always, share the pictures Tom! -
Moebius 67-72 Ford Pick-up news
mikemodeler replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I am with you Aaron, would love to see the 4wd option along with a F250/350. I have plans to replicate my dad's F250 as soon as Scenes Unlimited has those new truck tires ready using the '71 longbed kit. I think a new set of wheels and tires for the longbed kit would probably suffice for a F250. -

About 6 weeks into a new sales job, similar but different than what I was doing before. Took over a territory that was not well maintained and in some cases, a previous rep did a great job of loading up customers with inventory or just outright pissing them off! I see the challenges and will hit them head on and am confident that I can win back some business. Second call today was on one of the customers that told me and my boss last month that the previous rep "raped me bad on pricing and ordering things I don't need" so I went in expecting a brief but "no sale" sales call. The service manager was very pleasant to me as I explained I only needed a few minutes of his time and he invited me to sit down and show him our monthly specials. This account hasn't bought ANYTHING in over 12 months, so I wasn't optimistic that I would get an order. 15 minutes later I am out the door with an order that equaled all of last year's purchases and a customer thinking about adding a few new items not previously considered! I figured after that call, the rest of the day was going to be a breeze and it basically was. Best news was the disbelief in my bosses' voice when I replayed the sales call for him and how we may have made progress in a short period of time and he was just excited that we got the customer to order!

Help/Advice needed regarding children
mikemodeler replied to MrBuick's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Don't force yourself to spend time with him, kids are pretty smart and can figure things out. Like others have said, find something that interests the two of you and go from there. Yes, being around kids, whether you have some of your own or not, can be trying and difficult and it's not for everyone. He might not be able to assemble a model kit, but does he like cars? Buy him some Hot Wheels and find out! I was 30 when my son was born and i enjoyed playing with him. -
Help/Advice needed regarding children
mikemodeler replied to MrBuick's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
You have decided already that you don't want to spend a lot of time with him, why are you asking us to help you change your mind? Only you can decide what to do, not a forum of fellow model car builders. As the nephew grows, maybe you will too and your views towards him will change and a relationship will form, maybe not. Not sure what your experience growing up was like with your uncles, maybe that has something to do with your view? Be honest with your sister, it might strain your relationship but unless you are a great actor, she will be able to see your struggle. -
Late 70s Ford truck grille?
mikemodeler replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Check with Bandit Resins, I believe Kenny has a correct round headlamp grille for the '78-79 model years. -
COUPLE of CHEVYS
mikemodeler replied to RAMBENNA's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice and well detailed. The paint jobs on both are extremely well done. -
That is very nice, especially if it was built years ago! Love that color.

I would highly recommend going over those quarter panels and removing the mold lines and check the rest of the car for any additional mold lines. Best of luck on the vinyl top!

A trip to In and Out Burger shouldn't cost more than $20 Chuck, even if you add in ice cream! LOL I think I will have to make room in my budget for one of these.

'60 chev stepper
mikemodeler replied to dieseldawg142's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Can't believe you won't need a step ladder to get into this one! I'll be watching this build as I have a stalled '60 4x4 pickup build on the workbench. Any ideas on colors? -
Considering she lived to age 92, one would expect a few wrinkles. Those that have tried to stop time and regain their youthful looks usually end up looking like a cartoon character.

Hoodstooth Pattern Decal

The Revell 69 Camaro Convertible had the houndstooth decals in the kit, what car are you looking to put those decals on? -

Before you go much further, check to see if your glass will fit in the car. That roll cage looks awful close to the A pillars and I think that windshield is fairly thick in that area.

The Tragically Hip to go on last tour.
mikemodeler replied to Can-Con's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Sad news indeed. Too much musical talent loss so far this year and we're only 5 months in! As Wayne said above, thoughts and prayers to Gord, his family and band, may he enjoy his remaining days.
