Beach Patrol
Goose1957 replied to TonyK's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great Jeep build. Those flotation devices look suspiciously like fuel cans from nascar kits, lol. Very realistic detail you built into it. You took a bland kit and made it very cool. Jeff -

That turned out great. Beautiful paint and color choice. The stance looks just right. Great detail work. Jeff -

Wow that came out great! I was following your wip thread and hoping it turned out good. You hit a home run with it. Looks like a Jeep I'd like to drive in real life. Great build, Jeff -

Dodge Ramcharger
Goose1957 replied to bbowser's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice Ram. The paint looks terrific. Great color choice. Now, in about a year, it'll have some rust starting, lol. Those great trucks from the 70's and 80's never survive. I hope your wife likes it as much as the board does. Jeff -
AMT Subaru Brat
Goose1957 replied to cobraman's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
With those air cleaners poking outta the hood, you know something wicked is under there. Bet its a 289, lol. Cool Brat. Jeff -
Yea, I've seen plenty of wild ones fly into trees around here. The farm raised ones, not so much. They tend to hit the ground like sacks of wet cement. I love that episode of WKRP! Have to watch it every year and it still cracks me up. The seriousness of Les's reporting is so good. A true TV classic. Jeff

Very nice. The blue decals look really good on the white. I like how everything is color coordinated. Good build. Jeff -
Shoot.... I was hoping to get a funnel cake, lol. Very nice trailer. Looks right at home at a car show. I can smell the frying grease now. Jeff

Blazing Bison.... with a twist
Goose1957 replied to Dirt Demon's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Great looking tractor. I loved going to tractor pulls when I was a kid. I even built and still have my Meister Brau Special tractor when they first came out. I bought several of the repops for future projects. I like how you updated it with modern injector hats and all of the plumbing. Nice looking modern cage also. Paint looks gorgeous too. Makes me want to dig one out now. Jeff -
Thanks, I didn't want to post any copyrighted pics. Your brother in law built some beautiful train models. Too bad hollywood destroys all that fine craftsmanship, lol. I couldn't put in all that time and see it destroyed in a few seconds, even if I was getting paid for it. Jeff

They did crash a real train. Somewhere in the junk pile, I have the issue of Trains magazine where they went to the real shortline railroad I think in Tennessee (going on 20 year old memories) and showed the remains of the staged wreck along the rail line for the tourist trains to see. Maybe some of the scenes were miniatures, but real locomotives and cars were used also. Now I have to search my junkpile. Jeff Quick edit, Google search turned up Great Smokey Mountains Railroad at Sylva, North Carolina . Photos of the wreckage still there to this day, rusting away.

What was the worst movie you saw at the theater??
Goose1957 replied to slusher's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
The Russia House. Saw it back in 1990 in the theater with my high school buddies. Thought Sean Connery and Michelle Phifer would be good, kinda like a James Bond type plot. So bad, I think it's the only movie I ever walked out of. Maybe if I saw it today, maybe. Jeff -
Hopper's Blazer
Goose1957 replied to disconovaman's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice. Never saw the show, but the Blazer looks good. I like the conversion. Jeff -
Awesome pic, wish I could see that truck and all the cars to see the small differences in them. Maybe the one on the back would "fall off" in front of my house?? Jeff

Lol, I wish I thought of that! Great looking build. I have each version of this iconic car in my stash to build someday. I only hope they come out half as good as yours. Keep up the great work. Jeff

40 ford pick up fiat drag team
Goose1957 replied to gseeds's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Now that's a cool combo. Great looking build on both of them. They look very period correct. Beautiful paint job, not over the top. Nice. Jeff -
Beautiful looking truck. I like your color choice. I would say all of your extra work paid off on your build. I never cared for the extra mirrors that are put on many Japanese cars and trucks. They may help you see blind spots better, but they really detract from the otherwise clean lines of the body. Just my humble opinion. Great work on the truck. Jeff

Ollie's strike again
Goose1957 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Dave. I'll have to try my local Ollie's and see if they have the same version of t-rex you have. Can never have too many dinosaur skeletons, lol. I'm always looking for stuff I can put together with my 6 year old daughter. Trying to raise a new modeler and all. Love those newer Revell kits you put together with the plastic "tools". Jeff -
Ollie's strike again
Goose1957 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Is it the Discovery Channel box one? I picked one up last year and built it. It was more difficult than I thought it would be. Mine had NO instructions in it and the pieces are all numbered and must go together in sequence. Not too much problem, but the numbers are hard to read on some of the pieces and they are molded in a flexible resin or something. Mine must have sat around awhile and the pieces shrank. Most were hard to fit together and I had to use a channel lock to press them together. I didn't trust them to stay together, so I used some thin CA glue on the joints to help it stay together. I also did up the base with paint and ground foam to make it look better. After its finished, it is an impressive model. Looks like it belongs in a museum. Here's a couple of pics. Hope to see and hear about your experience when you build yours. Jeff -
37 Ford “ rat rod” shop truck
Goose1957 replied to Steve H's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I'm not usually into this style of truck, but your's keeps me coming back for more looks. Great workmanship in your build. The tires do look good on it. That pro stock engine would make that one fun ride. Probably need it to turn those meats, lol. Very nice build. Jeff -

Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....

That's a really cool story. Not many people would bother to sign and return that, yet alone send a personalized note to you. Congratulations, keep it always as a treasured memento. Jeff
