  1. Is it the Discovery Channel box one? I picked one up last year and built it. It was more difficult than I thought it would be. Mine had NO instructions in it and the pieces are all numbered and must go together in sequence. Not too much problem, but the numbers are hard to read on some of the pieces and they are molded in a flexible resin or something. Mine must have sat around awhile and the pieces shrank. Most were hard to fit together and I had to use a channel lock to press them together. I didn't trust them to stay together, so I used some thin CA glue on the joints to help it stay together. I also did up the base with paint and ground foam to make it look better. After its finished, it is an impressive model. Looks like it belongs in a museum. Here's a couple of pics. Hope to see and hear about your experience when you build yours. Jeff
  2. I'm not usually into this style of truck, but your's keeps me coming back for more looks. Great workmanship in your build. The tires do look good on it. That pro stock engine would make that one fun ride. Probably need it to turn those meats, lol. Very nice build. Jeff
  3. Nice looking Bronco. That green really stands out. I like the blackout treatment. Nice job. Jeff
  4. Wow, another beauty. I don't know how you have time to build so many great models. They just keep getting better and better. Keep up the great work, I enjoy seeing what you come up with next. Jeff
  5. That's a really cool story. Not many people would bother to sign and return that, yet alone send a personalized note to you. Congratulations, keep it always as a treasured memento. Jeff
  6. Man, that is one mean looking Toyota. If your real one was that big, can't imagine where you parked it at the store. I hate that bridge, too tall and skinny for my liking. Nice job recreating your truck. Jeff
  7. I understand. Not every show is liked by all. Try as I might, I just can't get into The Walking Dead, yet it seems to still be wildly popular. Yea, I think Grimm was a copycat of Supernatural. There are some other cool cars on Supernatural. One of the earlier characters drives a beat up 70 Chevelle and has a junkyard full of old muscle cars. And I agree, some of the weapons handling on the show makes me cringe, but hey, it's hollywood, where anything's possible. Jeff
  8. Yep, was gonna suggest that episode. Plus, it's pretty funny if you're a regular to the show. Another is the final episode in season 5, the opening sequence shows actual footage of the 100,000,000 GM vehicle leaving the assembly line, a 1967 Caprice. Some good footage of Baby in that episode too. The further into the seasons you go, the more you see the car. Snake, I can't believe you can't get into the show, lol. What's not to like, lots of muscle cars, lots of guns, (Dean has an awesome, engraved, nickle plated genuine Colt 1911a1). Great "real" rock for the soundtrack also. Some hot women too. I know the whole "Supernatural" thing with ghosts, vampires, demons and the like is hokey sometimes, but I got hooked on the show for the cars, guns, classic rock, and hot women. And yes, I'm 49, married with children, and don't live in my mom's basement, lol. P.S. check youtube, found several good videos about just the car, I just can't figure out if I can imbed video links here. Enjoy the build, Jeff
  9. Yeah, I can see about a dozen places in that video where the part in the tweezers would go flying into the stratosphere for me if I tried something like that, lol. Incredible engineering and craftsmanship in that car. Some people's building skills are truly amazing. Jeff
  10. Too cool! So much to soak in, have to keep coming back to see it all. Great job on that build. Love the chopper and the custom trailer to haul it. Jeff
  11. I paint almost exclusively with spray cans right now. I have an airbrush and used to use it a lot when I was a model railroader. I can get great results weathering with an airbrush. But I lost my workspace where I used to paint and are reliant on painting outside when the weather permits. Someday when I get a more permanent workbench set up, I'll probably start using my airbrush again. I'm no pro at building models, so rattle cans are good enough for me. With practice and patience, a very nice paint job can be achieved with spray cans. I personally like Krylon spray cans myself. If you check out your local hardware store, they usually have a large selection of colors, almost as good as a hobby shop selection. Jeff
  12. Very nice. Looks ready to head out on the trail. Jeff
  13. Wow thats nice. Beautiful weathering and rust. Looks just right, not over the top. Interior looks great too. I like how you "dented" it in just the right places. Keep up the good work. Jeff
  14. Nice Suburban. I never thought about using the side rails from the pickup for roof racks, cool idea. Nice color choice. I also look forward to seeing the camper to go with it. Jeff
  15. Nice job on the Rubicon. Haven't seen the movie, I only saw the first one. But that's a good looking Jeep you built. I think I read somewhere that the Revell kit was based on the diecast for the movie, so that makes sense that it looks like the one from the movie. Welcome back to the hobby, keep on building. Jeff
  16. Wow, that looks cool. Beautiful color for the truck. The carbon fiber really updates it. The engine and intake look really impressive and the wheels and tires are a nice choice. Beautiful truck. Jeff
  17. Was just at HL today and the nice lady was just putting the Rovers on the shelf. I already have one to build, so I left it for someone else. Jeff
  18. Neat builds. I thought I saw the trailer before, I always thought that looked great. You build some cool, interesting stuff. Jeff
  19. Very nice job. I always thought those kits looked cool and you proved it that they are. Keep up the good work. Jeff
  20. Very nicely done. The paint looks really good, and the bodywork is superb. You build some really cool vehicles. Jeff
  21. This is really looking good. Can't wait to see it finished. Jeff
  22. Made a great postmaster general in Seinfeld. A great actor, will be missed. Jeff
  23. Thanks for the info. I thought it might be ex military or similar. The sign on the door says it's from 1952. Still a cool truck I'd like to model. Another pic. Thanks. Jeff
  24. Don't write rumors you're body can't cash, or something like that, lol.? I'd love to see an old power wagon produced. I want to make this state forestry truck that's on display at my favorite state park that I go to for relaxation. Please, please, please.... Jeff
  25. I saw the thread in the truck section, of an rc chassis with a styrene truck body on it and thought we might have a thread for pics of such vehicles. I know this is a model car forum, but in a way, these rc cars and trucks are scale models. I just recently entered the world of 1/10 scale rc rock crawlers and was amazed at whats out there. Some of the builds would win trophies in a model contest. I don't want this to turn into a technical thread about what's what and all in the rc world, there are separate forums for that. I'd just like to see some pics of SCALE rc cars and trucks. Thanks for sharing. I'll start it off with mine. Jeff
