I have never read a bad word about Stirling Moss. Glad he lived to be 90 in the era he raced.

Autoworld.com Free Car kit!!!!!
TonyK replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I ordered as soon as I saw it and got the El Camino. Maybe they'll get more stock and can continue this great promotion. A nice gesture from Auto World during these frustrating times. -
Such great skills, great car, great model. Thanks for sharing.

I thought the same thing about road construction projects. I "heard" they weren't doing this and trying to find info on the Internet was useless. I saw a city utility pickup the other day with a couple of guys and cones on the road but maybe it was only to check out a problem. I agree that projects could be done without much interference these days.

I've watched IndyCar and Nascar and really enjoyed it. The graphics are excellent and sound and camera angles good also. Having the original announcers helps the whole experience in place of the real thing. I would not watch if the players weren't real drivers. I find it fun to know real drivers are now attempting to race video games instead of their real cars. I'm being entertained and happy for some racing on my television!

Back in the day I liked Puffa Puffa Rice. Several years ago Wheaties came out with a cereal that had a few other ingredients added to Wheaties and a bit of brown sugar I believe. It was very good and then disappeared after a short time. Used to like Corn Pops and Alpha-Bits but these days I only eat healthier cereal usually with a decent amount of fiber. I had one of those submarines. Lots of fun. Didn't take much to amuse myself back then.

Wheels are what came in the box.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, it's a '41 and built right out of the box. Just added the parachute line and a downtube on the rollbar.

We're having an order from the governor to not leave home except for necessity. It seems pretty broad but my way of thinking is to use common sense. Malls and furniture stores are now closed and we've all been dealing with restaurants, bars, and any entertainment places being closed. It seems anything that would allow us to carry on fairly normal is staying open. Grocery stores, pet stores, pharmacy, etc. Our annual eye appointments for next month have been cancelled for now. Glad I got my haircut before all this went down.

Gas lines......Still remember visiting my parents in the Seattle area and my Dad waking me up early so we could drive to the gas station and I could fill up to get home later. A 175 mile drive.

AMT kit with all chrome removed and gutted interior and other obvious modifications. Tires are from the old Monogram stock car kit and wheels from my parts box.
-
DTR model from the old Lindberg kit. These are simple and fun to build so I changed a few things. Wheels and tires from my parts box, exhaust from the Monogram sprint car kit, and added some more roll cage.

Here are the "new" decals in the '66 Chevy kit. Real disappointed in them. Was hoping for much more but think these numbers are trash. Tire looks decent.

Wife broke her ankle while walking across the parking lot to Starbucks. She goes there every morning for iced tea and said her right ankle just buckled and down she went. Two nice people helped her up and she managed to drive back home. It's just up the street from us. I believe adrenalin enabled her to do that. Twisted the other foot a little so it's hurting. Doctor gave her a boot to wear and we see an orthopedic doctor Wednesday and I hope nothing more is needed. We live in a 2 story house so that makes things complicated. She has arachnoiditis in her back so that complicates things further since that limits mobility and strength. We had plans for Saturday and Sunday so that's out. Have to go to Costco by myself and I hate that place but need some stuff. I've had a colonoscopy scheduled for months this Thursday and am not gonna miss it. Have to find someone to drive me there at 7 am. My mom had colon cancer once so they consider me a risk and I get to go every 5 years. Done about 4 of them I think and every time it's good but you don't want to let that threat go. Also been dealing with my moms estate since she died last year. She lived 200 miles away and need to sell her house and deal with all utilities, etc. My sister lives close to there but she's been worthless. She was supposed to be taking care of my moms taxes while she was in a "home" but hasn't so we now have a CPA to look into that. I don't ever want to be an executor of a will again. Anything else? Lucky I'm retired so able to take care of all this. Wife is gonna miss work for awhile because there's no way she can fulfill all the duties required. Just lifting herself off a toilet was tough when she had 2 good legs. A bad back causes so many problems. A long vent but felt I would add to the subject just because I had something to complain about.

Just amazing! The guy ain't got no shoes on. LOL

Yep, wasn't going to bed until I heard some news on his condition. Was able to sleep better knowing he seems to be out of real danger.

I had an S10 pickup for 18 years and took good care of it since it was new. Sold it to the next door neighbor kid because I just finally got tired of it and wanted something new and different. Great truck and always liked it but..... Yours looks really nice and those wheels and tires look good too.

They're going fast. 84. Always liked this guy. Never watched Wild Wild West but liked Baa Baa Black Sheep especially for the Corsairs.

Trying to remove chrome from a Revell funny car model. Used to be bleach would do it in a matter of minutes but lately I have to use Bleche White. This chrome is not coming off with either of them. Guess I'll have to break down and buy some oven cleaner. Hate using that because it's messy and nasty.

Had no idea he was that old so good for him. Have enjoyed so many of his movies. The War Wagon was one of my favorites and I recall an old racing movie that was pretty bad but don't remember the name of it.

I use Chrome and getting the site to load up is hit and miss.

Nothing I could see to criticize. You did great! And what a deal for $5. Wish they would reissue this kit.
