  1. I know your story was not meant to be funny but I did get a kick out of the endless problems on this model. Your end result looks great to me. I really like it. Reminds me of the old Zinger models.
  2. Looks ok now but was having issues earlier.
  3. I think I had that very same color do that to me so I found a model in my stash to build and used the rest of the can. Seemed to work fine. I have more trouble with Testors nozzles. Even after turning the can upside down to spray it clear the next time I use it the nozzle doesn't work right.
  4. In the mid 80's after my wife and I were married for a couple of years she encouraged me to get back into the hobby. That says a lot. I don't go overboard on buying models and such but have accumulated more than I will be able to build. I keep everything tidy in our spare rooms and real life comes first so modeling doesn't interfere with anything. The only thing she says once in awhile now is when I finish another model..... "Where are you going to put that?". Running out of room a little bit.
  5. Gene Hackman is good in every movie he's in. The French Connection was always a favorite of mine. They did a great job of immersing me into the movie and the characters of Hackman and Scheider. And they made me hate Frog 1.
  6. Yes, this was an enjoyable kit to build. Your model looks great and your decal work is perfect. Looks like it could've been a challenge but you mastered it.
  7. I remember this car and always liked it a lot. Your model looks great!
  8. I like this and as you pointed out, it may not really be finished. You always think about adding more. Enjoyed your thought process with little things like the screwdriver in the wall.
  9. Idiot. What's a few more steps to do the job right?
  10. Gilles. One of my all time favorites. Yes, Pironi survived F1 (almost didn't) and then goes on to boat racing and dies. Some guys have to live life in the fast lane and it can catch up with them but that's the only way they know how to live. I'll have to see if I can see this documentary.
  11. Excellent "weathering"! Thanks for sharing something different.
  12. Watched the Red Ball Express about a month ago. An eye opener to see all the efforts involved getting supplies where they are needed.
  13. Looks real good to me. Glad you finally finished it and shared your build.
  14. I need sound. Whatever size the engine is, I enjoy the sound. Whirring electric motors doesn't work for me.
  15. This is a great looking model! I was most impressed looking at the chassis pictures and all your detail. I don't build trucks but would think something like this would take me a year to build. Amazed that you completed such a nice model in the time you did it in.
  16. Excellent model! And to see you've done it so well in 1/43rd scale too.
  17. Interesting little models.
  18. Wow! What exactly are these chemicals?!
  19. Lay Down was my favorite song from her and always liked her singing voice and her looks.
  20. I'm no business man but you'd think as the years passed and these models are hard to find, they might reissue them again. Obviously they sold out. But, when Revell released the Joey Saldana Sprint Car I wrote to them suggesting they come out with many more of the models with different sponsors. They replied but the answer wasn't promising and we never saw another version after that.
  21. Nice set-up!
  22. That's a sharp looking dragster. Sometimes those simple kits are a nice break from the usual and you can have fun adding a few touches to make it better as you did.
  23. We need more racing trucks like this but I realize the market may be too small for the model companies to take a chance. They did a few of the European racing trucks and they quickly disappeared so......
