That's a great looking model. Looks like it's ready to go down the strip.

You showed us some nice combinations of that GMC resin kit but the 4x4 picture jumped out at me. Besides, you live in Edmonton so I'm guessing a 4x4 comes in handy. LOL

Good to hear about nice people eager to help someone out. So hard to find anyone like that these days.

Revell 2017 Ford GT LeMans
TonyK replied to shoopdog's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Very nice job and glad to see a finished version of this. I've thought about getting this kit but way too much work for me. Good for you though! -
Alan, I had a smaller parrot many, many years ago and enjoyed it very much. Amazing how much personality a bird can have. I applaud your patience and care you're giving this bird and hope that things will improve soon. I can only imagine what this poor bird has gone through lately with all the changes to deal with. Sounds like he will have a good home now.

I use Rust-Oleum Painters Touch sandable primer.

Somehow I missed this until now. Great looking model of a good looking car. Surprised to hear of a problem with a Moebius kit as they are usually a joy to build. Really enjoy looking at this model.

This is not the type of model I build but something made me get it just because it was so different. It was challenging and took me a long time to build as I worked on it off and on. It went together fairly well once I figured out how and where pieces were supposed to go. Part of the problem was it's so different from what I'm used to but that made it kind of fun.

Extra parts in Mooneyes dragster?
TonyK replied to TonyK's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the instructions. That shows everything clearly. I've got plenty of wheels and tires so looks I just need a body and engine to create another model. -
I have read many comments about the extra parts in the Mooneyes dragster kit and the possibility of building a roadster? I don't know enough to piece together something with these parts and wondered where I might find an instruction sheet that might have a guide to this. Also, I have chassis pieces in my parts stash molded in yellow that are the same parts in the Mooneyes dragster kit. I'd like to throw this together for a same era dragster but wanted to know what engines would be appropriate for this. Thanks for the help.

Always good to hear of another race car modeler. Sure wish a model company would tool up some of those V8 Supercars!

You did a great job! I like the little bit of dirty look too. Not over done. -
2 good looking cars. I was surprised I don't have the Leyton House car in my stash. Not sure I'd be able to match that color with any rattle cans anyway.

Speaking of Hobby Lobby........Haven't been there in a couple of months so thought I'd stop by while I was out since this week is 40 % off on kits. Came out empty handed. Same old boring kits. Saw the Wedge pickup but got that online many months ago. Think the car kit area has shrunk a bit and the planes and tanks gained some shelf space.

This subject has irked me in the past several years when they try to justify raising the minimum wage basing it on the poor fast food workers that aren't able to support a family, etc. As stated above, that's not what these jobs are meant to be. Back in the high school days everyone I knew started out doing minimum wage jobs somewhere and moved on to better paying jobs. We bought a crappy used car to get around and moved on to a better one when we could afford it. Seems times have changed as everyone wants and expects the best from the get-go.

Good for you! I built one of these for fun also and was surprised at how detailed it was. Thanks for sharing. -
It's been 24 hours since I got "the booster shot" and I feel pretty good. Moving the arm sometimes reminds me I got a shot but I've had way more pain after working in the yard before. Glad I got this over and done.

I like how it's called a "paper map" these days when it used to be a "map".

I've had the electric company send me some low-energy light bulbs and they work pretty good in certain places. I've tried a couple of low flow shower heads and they're useless. It takes twice as long to try and rinse soap off you so how does that save? I stick with the regular shower heads that you can adjust for your needs and get in and get out so I think I'm still saving water.....and time.

I always thumb through the magazine first and then go back and read every page but my impression was what you said. The kit reviews are always my favorite part so hopefully that will satisfy me.

Steve, thanks for the pics. Never get tired of seeing all the dogs.

Still remember seeing this at the drive-in and we were looking at each other when it ended saying "what just happened"? I agree with your comments and it's probably the best ending that could come from such a bad movie.

I believe the Next Gen cars have flat bottoms if that's what you were asking.
