  1. It says SILVER LEAF on the package but not on the pen itself. Hobby Lobby has it on their site, too, at a slightly higher price (still way less than Molotow). https://www.walmart.com/grocery/ip/Marvy-Uchida-DecoColor-Premium-Metallic-Paint-Marker-Chisel-Tip-Silver-028617350691/43472202?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=1674&&adid=22222222227000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=9008037&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=120643079&wl11=local&wl12=43472202&veh=sem&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsZPt6LT-7AIVtwiICR191wWaEAQYByABEgJxV_D_BwE
  2. A friend of my Mom's had a '67 Comet in burgundy. It had a kind of purplish tint to it, like a purplish maroon. Silver Sharpie works pretty well for a quick project, doesn't it?
  3. Hey, I enjoyed Blizzy's recent contribution.
  4. Have you seen a good movie lately? Or a bad one? Tell us about it with a brief review. Doesn't matter if you saw it in a theater, on TV, or via DVD, Netflix, etc. Doesn't have to be a new movie, either, just something you've seen recently and is available. Maybe you can turn someone else on to an obscure gem, or save somebody a couple hours time. I'll start: Crazy Rich Asians (HBOMAX): I was under the impression that this was a zany comedy like Bridesmaids or something. I was wrong--VERY wrong. It's a chick-flick, the kind of thing the Hallmark Network lives on but a little better done. Not horrible but not much reason to watch it IMHO. No laughs, no action, no car chases, only one halfway decent car (some kind of Audi, I think, in a satin metallic rose paint). If your woman insists that you watch something with her, you could do worse than this, but otherwise, let me save you a couple hours of your valuable time. The Matrix trilogy (HBOMAX): Not new of course but I hadn't seen it in a while. Saw the first one long ago, and part of the third one (on cable TV), but had never seen the second. The first one is kind of interesting. The second and third just get sillier and sillier. I made extensive use of the "advance 15 seconds" arrow to wade through the numerous and increasingly tedious "kung fu" scenes. The car chase scene had its moments but all things considered wasn't worth trashing a nice '67 Firebird. Some of the gun stuff was okay, other of it, not so much. The guy playing Agent Smith must be one of the world's worst actors. I'm not entirely sorry I spent six hours of my life on this, as it's kind of a cultural touchstone and now I can say I've seen it, but I certainly can't imagine ever watching it again. Who's next?
  5. Judging only from the box art, I can't even see any usable parts in that backbirth!
  6. Very, VERY clean and impressive build. You're making me want to build one of these, which is one of my highest compliments. Well done and model on!
  7. I'm having VERY good results with the Deco-Color Premium marker, available in the crafts section of Walmart. It's at least 90-95% as shiny as Molotow, dries to the touch in a couple hours, is MUCH more durable when cured than Molotow, and costs about 1/3-1/4 as much. That's what's on the side chrome trim of this '66 4-4-2 glue bomb I just "rescued," and it looks better in person than it does in the pic. (The window and roof trim are my regular beloved Silver Sharpie.)
  8. Got most of the interior (it involved wood-graining) finished on an AMT '70 Challenger glue bomb I'm reworking, and got all the chassis and engine reassembled except for the rear axle. Yesterday I finished polishing the new paint. This is more work than one of my typical "rescues" usually requires, but not a complete rebuild (the kit's not at all rare so not worth that level of time/effort) , so I need a new term for this level of work. Maybe "rehab" would fit. Yeah, rehab--I kinda like that!
  9. Very cool! Reminds me that I need to do one of these as Dyno Don's. Well done and model on!
  10. I have a faint memory of seeing one of these at the Squadron Shop many, many years ago. I was not impressed with it.
  11. That's a very clean build of that wretched old backbirth of a kit. Well done and model on!
  12. Nice build, very clean! I don't think I've ever seen a purple Cougar before. Model on!
  13. This is one of two cars that I can't for the life of me figure out why no manufacturer has out now (and perpetually) in a popularly priced kit, as both would seem to be guaranteed moneymakers. The other is the Aston-Martin DB5.
  14. Well, we ALL liked Selma Hayek's dance!
  15. Full Metal Jacket?
  16. Different and interesting! The only NMF "P-61s" I've seen were the F-15 recon versions.
  17. These are nebulous descriptions. Can you tie them to a car make and year?
  18. Just when you think 2020 can't get any suckier, it kicks you in the teeth again. Thanks for all the good times, Alex. You will be sorely missed.
  19. First, it's not available--LONG out of print. Then, the Pure Heaven was a much later car. A better starting point would be the reissued MPC Bantam Blast, which, though not common, would be much easier to find.
  20. Do you mean the 1973 movie starring Edward Fox?
  21. Can't pick one favorite but here are some that I have seen many times and enjoyed every time: The Bridges at Toko-Ri A Bridge Too Far Bullitt Animal House Heavy Metal Dirty Harry The Getaway Kelly's Heroes The Outlaw Josie Wales
  22. Tell us more about that, please?
  23. The paint's not thick. In fact, I don't think it's thick enough for a vigorous polish, though it will probably take a light polish. Biggest problem with the paint is a subtle run glob on the hood. I THINK this paint MIGHT be the same Testor blue that I just used on a '66 Mustang build. If it is, I'll strip the hood and repaint it. If not, I might try to sand and polish the run out, or I might just live with it--it's a little on the subtle side. Trying to decide on wheels/tires. Since I'm going for Day 2, don't want to use the Rally IIs, which aren't that great anyway. It's not a nice enough model or a good enough project to use a set of "good" wheels on. I'll have to see what I can come up with.
