  1. Finally scored an unbuilt AMT '76 Nova on eBay for a reasonable price. Been watching them for a few weeks now and they've been going for absolutely stupid prices. Got this one for what one sold for a week ago with major tire damage on the windshield and a few missing parts, maybe even less.
  2. Couple interesting things in that list. Thanks for posting it!
  3. Is anyone interested in this? If so, I'll include one of the wheels in some stuff I'll be sending Chris soon. I don't need 'em but some of you might. IF Chris is interested in meeting demand, that is.
  4. Clean removal! Most of us wouldn't have bothered to take them out in one piece.
  5. When will we see THAT again? They've been MIA all year. On a happy note, I see Battlebots will be back in a couple weeks. Yay!
  6. Agree that the 405 should have been there. I think they were probably offered the opportunity and turned it down. Wouldn't have done their rep any good to NOT win.
  7. What a clean, straight build, and your chrome trim is outstanding! Well done and model on!
  8. There's a good deal of smack talk and some fighting on the original 405-based show, not so much on the Memphis-based one. JJ Da Boss is actually quite a gentleman and treats people with respect, which usually breeds respect in return.
  9. They were optional in '67. I believe the Rally Wheels would have also been optionally available on any '67 Impala, though I don't think I've ever actually seen them on a 4-door.
  10. Thoroughly enjoyed last night's episode. It was great watching that loudmouth woman ("Milk Cow") from Kentucky get beat 8-1 by Birdman and the rest of the Texas crew. Her child, "Milk Dud," tore the driveshaft out of his truck, which had absolutely no business being in this race. He's been on the show four times now talking trash and I've seen him win twice--both times by sitting when the other guy accidentally "jumped." Everyone else he's raced has beaten him handily. Disturbing, though, was that there was a whole promo/commercial devoted to Milk Cow. I HOPE they are not planning to start a whole new Street Outlaws show about her and her foulmouthed, obnoxious doings. If they do, I for one won't watch it, much as I love all things Street Outlaw. She'd be much better off with some of the trash over on the Bravo channel.
  11. Just did a trade with thatz4u, very satisfactory and easy to work with, I'd deal with him again anytime!
  12. Walmart had a number of new diecasts today, including a Motor Max 2020 Vette in pale yellow I hadn't seen before. Also had a Jada "Big Time Muscle" '69 Camaro RS I hadn't seen before. I couldn't call it grossly oversize in the package, but Jadas are always suspect until can measure them. It was a lovely color, a "candy maroon" with matte black tampo sides (which might or might not come off easily). The wheels and tires weren't bad looking, either, for a Jada. I looked hard at it but left it there. I already have nice diecast '69 Camaros from M2, Johnny Lightning, Metalworks, and First Gear, and didn't really want to take a $20 chance on the size. But maybe another time..... ETA: Here's the one I saw: https://www.target.com/p/jada-toys-big-time-muscle-1969-chevy-camaro-die-cast-vehicle-1-24-scale-dark-red/-/A-79773937?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012544494&CPNG=PLA_Toys%2BShopping&adgroup=SC_Toys&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=1018611&targetid=pla-499469408594&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5vW4lbae7QIViICGCh2NZQmyEAQYASABEgJWgvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  13. My main recollection of this song is that once someone auditioned with it on The Voice, and Blake Shelton actually knew what it was and recognized it, which surprised some of the other coaches.
  14. Jada has a fairly decent diecast that has the stock wheel covers. I have a rescued promo with them, too. Would be willing to work a deal with a RELIABLE resincaster.
  15. Different and imaginative, and therefore interesting! An interesting concept well executed. Model on!
  16. Well, I watched it, and I don't think I liked it as much as you guys. I thought the music was distracting to the point of annoyance. I've seen worse movies, but wouldn't watch this one again. I think its problem is, it never decides what kind of movie it wants to me. Is it a chase movie? An action movie? A heist movie? A music movie? A young romance movie? It's all these things and yet not really any of them. I have to wonder how Kevin Spacey, Jamie Fox and John Ham ended up in it. Did they owe somebody a big favor? Just my opinion, of course. Hey, not everybody likes everything!
  17. There ya go. Now, was that really so hard? Doesn't really make me want to see it, though.
  18. An advertisement for a movie is not a review of the movie.
  19. Did you like the movie? Why or why not? It ain't rocket surgery. No one's expecting Stephen Hunter here.
  20. Already done:
  21. Bought this '94 Mustang promo at this month's toy show for $5. It was complete, intact, and undamaged, but filthy, especially inside. The finish was perfect--very shiny, and not a scratch or smudge on it. I didn't have to do a thing. The glass seals had been somewhat sloppily painted, so I had to remove some of that with alcohol and re-do it. The chrome wheels had been sloppy painted with some kind of silver paint, so I had to strip those and repainted them with Krylon Satin Nickel. Sanded the tire treads. Painted the backup lights with acrylic white pearl over Silver Sharpie, and the taillights with Stop Light Red Metallic over gloss orange (for better coverage). Front parking lights are white pearl over flat white. Front side markers are Turn Signal Amber over orange; headlights are a thin coat of the acrylic white pearl over the kit chrome. Had probably 6-8 hours in it altogether. It's amazing how just a little color detailing can bring one of these things to life, isn't it? Thanks for looking, and, as always, comments welcome.
  22. Ironically, you're the one who taught me how to remove the tampo junk with non-acetone nail polish remover, and this was one of the very first I used it on. But DO NOT let it get anywhere near the glass, or you'll have to repolish that out!
  23. It's not perfect but it's 1000% better than the old Monogram, and even 100% better than Revell's second bite at this particular apple.
  24. Depends on what kits. If any of them were JoHans, I daresay you could do better than $10 for them today.
