  1. Sweet! As Letterman used to say (back when he was still funny), "You got all of that one, my friend!" That's probably the best build of the Revell '70 Cuda kit I've seen. It actually looks like a '70 Cuda in most of the pics! Well done and model on!
  2. Nice! I'd love to do more German armor but I don't have either the skill or the imagination to do the camo paint.
  3. If you want a bright red, don't airbrush it over red oxide, airbrush it over white or yellow. You probably won't find a yellow primer that will stand up to nail polish, so white it is. At least spoon-test white primer vs your red oxide. And all nail polish doesn't have opaquity problems. That's mainly with the pearls and so forth. Some of the solid colors are pretty, well, solid. But as always, every paint job is a law unto itself. There is no substitute for doing your own testing and experimenting.
  4. Cloudy paint (also called "blushing") is usually--not always, but usually--a humidity problem. In some cases it can be polished out. I've done it. I've also failed to do it.
  5. That one's a '68. And the two taxis are sedans, not hardtops.
  6. I assume that's 1/24, but maybe not? I went looking for this on the net today and could not find it listed anywhere!
  7. A '74! Very way cool! Drive on!
  8. Also, 33538 is going to be flat. The FS color number for gloss would be 13538. At one time Testor might have called this Chrome Yellow.
  9. Got my "stimulus" check today. Not that pleased, as it means that something is about to go wrong with the car, or a major appliance is about to die. Ain't it always the way? How do they always know?
  10. I've shot Model Master Insignia Yellow thinned with lacquer thinner many, many times, over primer and not, and never seen anything like this. (It doesn't attack the plastic, either--the LT evaporates off long before it causes any damage.) I thin at least 1:1 and with MM enamels often have to go up to 2 parts thinner to 1 part paint. I shoot at 24 to 30 PSI and don't pay much attention to where in there the pressure is. If the paint's flowin', I'm blowin'. Are you absolutely certain you used MM enamel and not their acrylic? Some of their labeling is very similar these days.
  11. The US actually built a bomber version of the DC-3/C-47 (sort of, -ish). It was called the B-23 Dragon. Howard Hughes owned a couple.
  12. Like you're actually gonna BUILD any of them! (If you think I'm trying to goad/prod/shame/encourage/cheer you into actually FINISHING SOMETHING, uh, you are correct.)
  13. There was a fairly decent cheap diecast of it available at one time. I got a couple of them cheap at a toy discounter about 20 years ago; gave one of them away.
  14. He was one of the first to travel a now well-worn path: Liberace, him, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Mick Jagger, Hendrix, Elton John, Cher, Bette Midler, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Madonna, and Lady Gaga, among others. What do they all have in common? They weren't just great musicians, they were SHOWMEN (and women). They were PERFORMERS. RIP, LR.
  15. WHAT! Freakin' BELGIUM has the magazine already, and I don't?????!!!!!!
  16. I'm thinking of adding a new sig line: "REAL modelers spend more time actually BUILDING models than they do wishing for models that don't exist and probably never will." Mark, I think the problem is the comma, which kind of alters the meaning. (I know what you meant to say. )
  17. Oh I am SO doing that. If I don't end up with something that looks close enough to stock, I'll call it a "phantom" body style. Improvise, adapt, overcome! And if all else fails, just lie!
  18. I am STILL waiting for mine. (Got my "stimulus" check today, though.) Besides, I said the "first among US" to review the thing.
  19. So, who among us will post the first pics and review of the new Impala?
  20. Only think I know about Cardiff is that I have an obscure album by a band from there called Budgee. Pretty good stuff.
  21. I wish I'd hit the Powerball next week. Oh well, back to building models that actually exist.
  22. This one seems especially fitting now:
  23. No, it's the cure for murder wasps.
  24. No no no no no. I mean like take the bumper bars off it, add lights and a grille shell of some kind, and barely-functional seating for two. Street badassery!
