You're over-analyzing the situation. K.I.S.S. principle is in effect. All you need to do is to cut the decal using a double bladed stencil cutter removing enough so it can be applied with the proper space (for the body color to be visible) between the two stripes. End of story. If you don't have one, I suggest that you purchase one.

The chassis from the Lindberg '64 Plymouth/Dodge kits are excellent replacements for the Johan part. -
I never knew that Detail Master offered windshield tint. I never saw it on the site. BTW, the store isn't available for some time. I've been getting a "Not Found" message when clicking the link.

Jeez Steve, that is stupendous masking work to achieve the pattern. The only thing missing is scale change wedged between the the seat back and cushion.

If someone is selling a "holy grail" kit, he will have a set price determined and posted which would preclude any haggling. Just like at ebay, or online shops which sell "rare" kits, it's up to the shopper if he pulls the trigger and purchases it. If the shopper thinks that the price is too high for a particular kit, simple solution. Keep walking. There are numerous other sites which allow buying, selling and trading. I've never read any complaints that so-and-so ripped people off. It only happens in the bargain basement world of relatively inexpensive car kits. It's seems that model car builders are the one group who have credibility issues and are more likely than not to scam somebody in a transaction, even in a trade. Why is that? I've bought plenty of stuff on armor and aircraft sites and never got ripped off. Sellers charge what they feel is a fair price and I'm more than happy to get a good deal when the opportunity presents itself. Who would be cheated out of any money? The seller? If the seller posts a price, he must know what the item is worth. If he lowballs the price, that's on him; or, he's not looking to make a huge profit. The buyer wouldn't be cheated because he'd know exactly how much the seller is charging, just like ebay. How about having companies/vendors advertise with links to their sites? It's done everywhere else and it pays the bills. Heck, military kit manufacturers even provide kits to those sites which are then offered to members in exchange for a build review. Don't see cheapskate car kit manufacturers extending that courtesy.

Anyone here ever used Worthpoint?

Read THIS to understand what Worthpoint is. -
No, the distance between the centers of two bars on the track. Look at the middle drawing.

It might be a difference of terminology; but, why would Ron sort through older molds instead of making new ones from the masters he must've gotten when he bought R&R? If anything, the master patterns are more important than used silicone casting molds.

As Ray suggested, looking at armor models/accessories might yield something. These are Masterclub MC135003CL 1./35 scale resin track links for a Sd.kfz. 184 Elefant tank destroyer Comparing them to the B-12CS tracks, the Masterclub tracks are somewhat similar in appearance. Might be worth considering.

I'm a helluva lot closer. I'll be there at 3:30 this afternoon. Just leave the boxes by the front door.

R&R Resin has been defunct since 2014 after the owner passed away. The owner of Resin Model Ranch purchased all of the R&R masters in October 2018 and is recasting them presently. Check the RMR website every so often to see what is listed.

Cafe Moto, 394 Broadway in South Williamsburg, closed three years ago as of this coming Tuesday. It was a vegetarian-only joint. The same owners "reinvented" the place as Cafe Velo, a bicycle-themed vegan restaurant. I should ask them what happened to the van.

How do you call? There's no number listed on the site, just an email address.

I was comparing the available RMR cast bodies against the original R&R. Look the same.

Good Clear Coat for Molotow Chrome - Found

You can also get it from USA Gundam Store, in Daytona Beach, for $5.49. -
Cool pumps, Chris. The only things I can find at flea markets or "antique" shops here are beat up Remington-Rand typewriters, macaroni art and the same chairs I tossed into the trash two weeks ago. The Salvation Army Thrift and Goodwill Stores, unlike in other locales, don't even sell models or toys. Neither accepts them.

I love cold weather. I will never complain about how cold it is, or if it snows for a week straight. Summer in NYC sucks because the glass buildings reflect sunlight making it hotter, all of the concrete and asphalt absorbs heat and increases the temps drastically. Anyone who says they like summers in NYC is lying, crazy or both. And, all of you guys who live/moved to places like the Deep South or Southwest: don't tell me that the triple digit temps don't bother you. I always heard from people who moved to those places from the New York area did it because they couldn't deal with the cold. What do they do during the summer in the Land of the Sun and other picture postcards from Hell? Stay at home with the air conditioners running at maximum, meat locker levels because it's too friggin' hot to go outside.

how to remove glass from rebuilders
SfanGoch replied to michelle's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Rich, the saw blade and scriber tips' kerf is only .30 mm. That is a super thin cut/scribe line. If anyone is interested in the saws/scribers, you can get them from UMM-USA. John Vojtech is a great guy to do business with; and he carries a lot of useful tools and supplies. -

You won't need to worry about the "Pontiac" hood script. Remove it and replace it with the PE letters. They're visible on the middle left of the fret in the picture. -

I already know how they work. I've been using these for years. The saws and scriber blades are going to be your favorite tools. Using the saw blades to remove delicate parts from the sprue is much better than using sprue cutters. -
1960 AMT Bonneville interior tub
SfanGoch replied to hedotwo's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The Trumpeter Bonneville interior isn't a tub. The door panel, front and rear seats, armrests, door handles, etc., are separate parts, all of which make for nice detailing. The floorpan is a separate part from the frame, too. You can find the Sport Coupe for a reasonably low price if you look. Heck, you might be able to stuff the Trumpeter guts into the AMT body, and use the Model Car Garage PE set to dress it up. -
