  1. 3d printing . I feel like i've wasted 1200 quid on an expensive ornament for my living room. 5 bottles of resin and only one set of wheels turned out good. I'm following the instructions but it just dont work for me. I cant find any help locally for resin printers and most online help is garbage or trolls. I dont mind the fails if they were getting close to being right but they seem to fail in different ways in just one damn print. print the top half, print the bottom half, stick to the tank all in the same print. And i have to work with the guy that just wants to antagonise me and leave half his jobs unfinished so i cant do my job, and who i caught sneaking through my cabin last time we were on the boat, so the next week is going to be just as bad as this week has been, but in a different way. Wont something go right?
  2. I tried another print with thicker joins between the supports and item. I had a full engine and a set of wheels and tyres but only a couple of parts came out useful and even they are mis-shapen. It seems like theres something strange going on as some parts only print the top half and others only print the bottom of the item while other just print on the tank, even when they are on the same print run. for example the gearbox for the engine was sitting at 45 degrees with the engine end pointed up and it started printing the gearbox from half way along the tailshaft. I've spent a lot of money trying to get this to work and i'm onto my 5th bottle of resin now with only one set of wheels from over 100 quids worth of resin that have turned out well. I've been trying to find somebody local that could give me advice but so far i've only found people that have the plastic filament printers and they cant help. It seems no matter what i try with this machine that it just wants to cost me cash. I follow the settings anycubic recommend and still its a disaster. I'm tempted to just sell the piece of garbage cos its not saved me any cash and i could have bought all the parts i've tried to print for less, even with the ridiculous postage we have now. I'm just sick of the sight of the thing now, 2 months of failures and 4 months rent down the toilet. I've tried everything people have suggested and it just wont do the job its supposed to do. anycubics suggested resin settings on their site are the same for every resin and i tried them with no sucess except 1 set of wheels, i've tried settings from 3d print help pages, forums so i just dont know what to do now. 1200 pounds wasted
  3. It would have been a 4 cylinder, and there is a turbo version too. The 6 from the csi might fit but the engine bay on these is pretty small. The uscp products are very nice and they are able to ship their items again, even with the war. I've actually got some items on the way now. There are various bmw engines available on cults for 3d printing
  4. And itsall been downhill from there. My prints are sticking to the resin tank again. I'm using phrozone aqua green resin. I have it set at the settings already in lychee for the resin and i've reset the z axis zero every time the tank or plate has been removed. I've had so many failures the bottom of the tank is now pretty dented. I just cant seem to get the prints to stop sticking. Once the supports reach the print item is when it seems to be failing and sticking to the tank.
  5. Man you guys pay a lot more than i do on this side of the pond. My unlimited phone and internet package is £34 a month and for every ten quid spent on calls i get 20 quid more of free calls and sms
  6. So heres my first sucessful print, a set of raceline rims. I used up my waterwashable for these and there is noticable shrinkage compared to a set of the same i purchased before getting the printer. Its not a great pic. so after that was a sucess i printed the body for a 32 3 window with 0.05 layer and it worked. It was looking good until i damaged it removing the supports as they were very dense and i didn't think the uv would get through. It has a bit of warpage on the lower body also but that may be because i left it in the water overnight before curing and it softened.
  7. my 32 body printed great. then i cracked it removing the supports as i thought they would get in the way of the curing. I think i can save the body if i remove the centre from the roof but it printed fantastic. Its half past 5 am here so i'm going to sleep now
  8. I managed to get my printer working finally.
  9. 14 months is maybe a little long to be wearing one pair of underwear, lol
  10. IT WORKED!!! and i worked out what i was doing wrong too. The final step for the z axis was on the next page of the instructions. all i think i missed was saving the zero for the z axiz. One line of type being on the next page meant i missed it. I printed out a set of wheels and since that worked i now have a 32 3 window body printing. I've reduced the number of supports slightly as they were a bit excessive but i'm just happy i finally got it working and havent spent a grand (had to upgrade my computer too) on an expensive ornament.
  11. Not yet. I've not done anything with it since as i was at the point of losing my temper with it. I'll be trying again over the weekend with normal resin instead of the water washable stuff to see if it the problem.
  12. arrived in scotland yesterday, great issue
  13. with the vallejo paints the bottle caps tell you if its enamel or acrylic. You can thin some of them but i cant remember the designation for the caps. I know when i'm using their weathering products i have to use them in a certain order or they react
  14. 3 days is a pretty quick response time for an email. they would have been shut on sat and sun, and since its you guys thanksgiving they will most likely be busy with that and getting christmas orders out in time. I'd say their respnse time is pretty quick for any company these days
  15. at the end of the day there are no new stories. once you've read the dictionary everything is a rewrite
  16. gibberish makes up 90% of social media, the other 10% dont know how they got there

  21. when i was growing up our local video store was a little bit seedy. my mum had been told you could get pirate new releases if you asked the right person. i'm not sure if mum asked the right person or not but it sure wasn't saving private ryan. very similar title but i'm not going to say it to save everyones ad blockers from imloding. suffice to say at least shes safe with netflix, lol
  22. I dont think many of those are real, the front of car to hood areas look smaller on those than the real thing and theres kits for converting slk which the blue car still has the dash from. they were all built by s-klub la though
  23. I hope they fixd the roof on the corrado, it has too much curve to it and should be flatter. The land rover model numbers refer to the wheelbase length. The first land rovers had a 88inch wheelbase but from the series 2 it went u to 90 on the short ones and the long ones started being made. I believe they started at 108 inch and slowly crept up to 112 by the early 90s but you could get them in other lengths by special order. also if your ever buying a used land rover try and find an ex coastguard one, low miles, better suspension and wheels and perfect servicing
  24. Silver paper is not great for printing over. the silver simply doesn't have a good adherance for inks due to the metallic pigments
  25. lunchboxes are a thing of the past if the number of local food trucks is an indication
