I didn't even think of that. Its too late now anyway. I used the stock parts from the chopped 48 kit to put it back more stock. I also made another small change to the bottom wood bars by swapping them for square strip instead of the round which I would have done when i first worked on it if I had sqare to use

I think I agree with you on the grille Tom, so I guess there will be one mod needed. It shouldn't be too hard to change for the stock one maybe

Since I cant do anything on my cannonball build until more styrene turns up I pulled this build out again. Its been back in a box for 4 years as the roof pillars broke when I was assembling it. I didn't remember fixing them but I guess I did at some point. It has all the running gear from a 90s mustang cobra. As well as the fade awy fenders it has also been chopped, sectioned and to save cutting the roof I pulled the rear forward at the top. The interior is tuck n roll and the wheels are from a hasegawa vw bus with ford caps but they may get changed for wide whites and ford steels. The plan with this is just to get it finished. The first 2 pics are how it currently sits with a few random build pics following. heres afew build pics too some of the areas that caused it to get put in the box again

Cool project, the t-bird looks right at home on it. Funnily enough I have a similar project using a jag xj220 and a hemi hydro but its stalled just now

I'm keen to know what the differences are between this version and the 2 previous. It looks to have a jetta rear bumper on the front and if it does I'll have to get one

I've hit a small problem with my progress on the cage. I was well on with one side only to run out of the rod. I was certain I had another pack of it but when i pulled it out it was a smaller diameter so I've ordered a load more and hopefully it doesn't take long to arrive. This is as far as I got today

Today I made a few mods to the dash so i can get working on improving the cage. There were some switches but they had a lot of flash and a sinkmark in the middle, so to rectify this i filed the entire panel flat and used some rod and tubeto add them back. I've left them long until the glue sets and will be cutting them down. I also had the problem of no decals for the gagues so I've cut down a sun visor tv to fit and will be using any decals I find in the leftovers box. The modded sun visor is in both pics. I will also be adding one to the passenger side with other decals. Next I looked at the rear suspension and while basic it will do the job, however I made a connecting rod and found some better shocks (currently in paint). There was a big open hole above the axle so it is going to be a massive fuel tank For the frone suspension I had to make some heavy cuts to make the engine sit low enough Next I turned to cooling cos a turbo this size will get hot. I'm using a hobby design intercooler and the rad from an alfa. To get the intercooler and rad to fit with a little room for moving parts I had to make a drastic cut to the front panel. Hopefully I will be able to hide it somewhat with the mesh

Some kit recommendations for euro cars. the tamiya new beetle is nice. it doesn't come with an engine but there are vr6 engines on ebay to fit it. revell mk2 golf comes in a few variations. I would recommend the us boxing with2 cars on the box as it has a reiger body kit included. also if you want to do a late model with the big bumpers scaleproduction do the bumpers fujimi mk3 and 5 golfs are curbside but they have an engine plate in the mk3. the mk5 are curbside tamiya mk4 golf. can be hard to find and expensive but a nice kit all the same fujimi mk2 golf curbside and it looks chopped, has the wrong wheels but handy for race liverires amt mk1 scirocco, really nice but needs some extra work in the engine bay but may look small next the rest fujimi audi 80 curbside again but nice enough for what it is tamiya audi quattro available in race and rally with engines. italeri audi quattro race only but not bad. curbside again revell audi r8 v8 coupe and v10 roadster kinda simplified but builds up well. belkits skoda fabia and vw polo are both very nice kits but are curbside but theres enough detail you wont notice the lack of engine beemax/nunu/aoshima audi UR Quattro very nice kit but agina curbside like above. Theres a new version on the way that is more like the road version but again no engine nunu audi r8 race car curbside but should be a nice kit imai mk1 scirocco very basic, more toy than model and not near as nice as the amt, but its 1/24 scale and will need a lot of work. I'm thinking to use a mk1 golf to build it with more detail

So yesterday I sat down with the uscp-ua cossie engine and what a piece of kit it is. Now while its a very nice engine I had to fit a much bigger turbo to help it embarass the other competitors v8s (I'm building it for the mcm cannonball) I used an hks turbo from hobby design but I left the stock manifolds. Theres not much roon left in the bay but i've made a little more by trimming theside of the bay and moving it back so it sits square now. I also modded the slam panel above it to match. Nwxt up willbe sorting the front suspension crossmember to fit the engine. Its pretty deep so it should just be a flattening of the centre. The blue painted parts will be getting some metaliser powders used and should go steel colour then

I just use duplicolour flat black, but once its dry i rub my fingers through my hair then use the natural skin oils to give it the sheen of rubber. I do the same to bring up floor detail n chassis

It'sina kinda nice turquse/green/blue colour. Unfortunately it ad been built with the option chevy fenders and my replacements are red

It works the same as the paints do, just use your usual primer and clear you use with it normally. Bear in mind I'm in the uk so our duplicolour might be a different formula than yours

Stripped the paint from an original monogram 40 pickup only to find it is perfect underneath the paint, not even a light sanding to any of it, and nothing had been scraped for glung so theres only a couple of tiny glue damaged areas where the rear fenders mount.

Nope, I really dont have 6 of the hasegawa/revell t1 buses, honest or 3 69 chargers
