stitchdup replied to 89AKurt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)

Mercedes Outlaws & Hot Rods
stitchdup replied to 89AKurt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
because they can, old mercs are only expensive to you guys, and even then only the old rare ones are valuable. On this side of the pond mercedes are taxis and cars middle managers buy because they think they have made it, even the sls and slr lose lots of value when they leave the store so you can get a 2 or 3 year old merc for the same price as hot hatch. while you guys have recent mustangs and camaros as your cheap rwd cars we have mercs and bmws as ours- 130 replies

The 2022 Cannonball Run Year of Birth Build Thread
stitchdup replied to disconovaman's topic in Community Builds
if your ordering wheels I suggest getting them a size or two bigger than you think you need, they seem a little undersized to me but most of my builds are 1/24. they are nice though -
He has a car in the petersen museum called gypsy rose, it was inducted into the historic vehicle register at the same time as the hirohata merc. Theres some good pics here, but my fav pi of it is when it was on show in DC with the hirohata https://classicandsportscar.com/features/gypsy-rose-queen-lowriders http://kustomrama.com/wiki/Walt_Prey

he's the inventor of the internal combustion engine, or at least the first commercially available engine

I think JJ has a crash in fastest too in the still to come bit at the end or it may have been shown in the coming this season bit at the start, also in humingbird racing what looked to be cody baker. Looks like there's a a bad one in the oklamhoma series too between jeff and damon in the white camaro. One of them had a lot of fire but not sure which

My first build for 2022 - '32 Ford Classic Hot Rod updated 9/20/22
stitchdup replied to Bullybeef's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I like the top one, not sure the chrome wheel suit it though but painted to match the frame would work. -
Will do if i remember, its a few builds down the line though. Theres video of the tractor racing an old lotus racecar on you tube, just search ardbeg tractor and its one of the first vids. I wont spoil the result...

I am, but my rear wheels and tyres are from the 1/12 57 chevy (a little too big but its what I have), witha heller tractor. Just need to order a drag engine for it

I'm surprised nobody has opened a bar chain called moderation, on uk alchohol ads they always say to drink in moderation. All that free advertising going to waste, lol

Is the sound of Etienne Lenoir turning in his grave available?
-
Up until last year it was, only called asda. Recently sold
-
Nice work, the first one looks very convincing, I like the battered top on the 48 too

Its good to see JJ and the family (cant really call them a team) back on tv. Just watching the first episode and it looks like it could be more interesting this season with the Memphis family racing in the qualifiers along with the rest. So far everyone seems to be faster than last season but I'm only half way through the episode. Some new teams this year too. I wont discus the results as I'm sure many of you haven't seen it yet but its looking good so far

Polishing base coat before clear?
stitchdup replied to rightrudder's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've done the same with hok lime pearl. It was chipped down to the resin (dropped a clamp on it, doh) so some careful prime, base, pearl and clear and you would only see it if you knew where it was.
