Thanks, I'll have to get one to build the road car version as the body looks very close to it. Might even mix it with a tamiya one to get the engine. I was going to cut down one of the italeri kits but since this one is coming out it'll make it much easier

Lots of real nice work so far. Since you're able to cast parts i would probably try that for the lower glass piece with a little blutac or something blocking the holes sitting just a little taller so you can shape it down to what you need it to be -
kitchen degreaser followed by dish soap and hot water

Ok so none of you guys ideas have worked. I've scrubbed it in hot water, drilled out the pin holes and tried all the above suggestions and they all fall out when sanding. even superglue isn't holding well. any more ideas or should i just trash it? at this point its like a turd on carpet

Nice project, I like how subtle it looks even with the fairly big mods

I was browsing ebay earlier and it looks ike there is a new audi quattro kit on the way from nunu. I am wondering if anybody knows more about it. The box art showed what could be a more stock body UR Quattro but didn't have any information apart from it being released on nov 31st

Thanks guys, so far i've used surerglue to mostly fill the larger holes, and since the rain gutters were a complete mess I removed them and one top beam, completely and made new ones from styrene. Still loads to do around the rear doors as they are a complete mess too but I might have a plan for them too. Once I have everything pretty close I'll give it a couple light coats of primer then get out the putty. But thats a few days away as there is plenty other bits to do

keep an eye on lidl, they get a small selection twice a year, and often have modelling tools too -
He has done a tutorial on making wire wheels the way he does them, and there are a couple of others also on the forum

And heres the body pics and the first mockups, the rear end will be coming down to about half the height in the pics

So what do you do when you have a very poor resin body, in my case you build something thats completely out of my wheelhouse so i'm going pro street. The chassis is from a monogram53 vette but its be heavily reshaped to fit the ol' moggy. I'm using the rear tyres from a beretta pro street kit and the front from a revell pop. The engine is the amt parts pack chrysler but I'll be cutting down a water pump from another kit to make it at least look a little more street. I've filed off the rain gutters, and in the process lost a lot of air bubbles (yay!), and using some thin styrene sheet added in some new ones. I also cut out one of the top bars from the rear of the body and replaced it with some styrene as the original bit was near unusable. The floor and tubs are from the vette also but again chopped about to fit. I tried a straight axle on the front but it didn't give me the look i want so it was replaced with a dropped axle from the parts box. I'll be using a set of Ed Fluck's wheels. Much more bodywork to follow...

Model A or Deuce Coupe ?
stitchdup replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
From that pair i had to go with the A, might be different with another pair though -
Nice work, the now roofline looks great

Not very detailed really. Thie was more about building a transformer style lowrider. The only change from what was in the box was I swapped the wheels for those from the cougar kit. Theres lots I would do differently now such as opening the doors and I'd give it a more fitting interior

The Official EBay Discussion Thread
stitchdup replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've oly had one mistake from ebay. One store i bought from sent me the wrong kit but they let me keep it if i paid the postage for the correct item. The wrong item ended up with a member here (revell model t ambulance) so it worked out well.
