  1. pm sent, and im les not Noel, lol
  2. foil from a cigarette pack might work for the textured section
  3. There is another option too, that works for most of us that still have hair anyway. If you spray matt black and you need to add a little contrast, after the matt has dried rub your fingers in your hair before you wash it then use the natural oils to give areas such as seat centres or chassis detail a satin finish. It might surprise you how much of a difference it makes.
  4. I dont mind curbside, I put a calibra chassis under a kennmary a few years ago and made it twin turbo, and just put a cedric together with one of the fujimi parts pack engines
  5. I've been considering the r31 kit. What do you think of it? I'm a fan of the skylines r32 and earlier and wouldn't mind a few of them.
  6. there's resin rover v8s out there too, I have one in my stash and they pop up occaisonally on ebay. its an sd1 version in 1/24 and a little rough but a little work should and it should clean up to be a decent motor
  7. Sweet, you dont see too many of these done in a rod style.
  8. I'm sure I've seen a trans kit for it but not sure who makes it. Maybe an ebay seach would find it?
  9. I think it would be because there is a bigger market for diecasts. Most of them are sold as toys so the age range of the people buying/receiving them is much bigger than for kits and they dont need as many parts or as much detail.
  10. thanks, its always a good day when you learn something new
  11. How would that engine work? I dont know much about jet engines but i thought they used thrust for momentum so this has just thrown me
  12. I like the direction you're headed
  13. Custom bumpers from an early golf too, and what looks to be later rims, from possibly a mk3 golf or audi 80. I've got the c1 resin kit of that to build and it'll be pretty close to this one, just a little lower. I'd love to find one of these in that condition. All the ones i know of locally have been worked to death and have loads of rot
  14. I'm not sure what I'm going to use the c7 for yet, possibly stick as much as i can from it under the foose firebird kit. The teddys are from uscp, well worth a look for some different wheel options, you might like the older japanese rims they do with your car collection. Make sure you get a set with tyres though, they are done to a slightly different scale to the aoshima ones so the tyres dont fit. They also seem happy to do new styles of wheels if someone asks for something they dont do but they have about 100 rim styles and they are very well cast
  15. Some recent arrivals. As well as the kits I had to get another set of teddy bear wheels but in 17" this time (i see a harlequin golf in my future), and a set of hobby design ssr bbs style metal rims. There is also a c7 vette kit minus the body that was too cheap to turn down (pics from internet)
  16. If its any help to the mag, there's a company in the uk called american auto mags that might be a good place to get the relaunched mag stocked in. They specalise in us auto mags and usually stock the other one. It would certainly make it easier for those of us in the uk to get the mag, and they go to lots of car shows so would maybe provide a little free promotion in the uk by doing so
  17. I kinda like the look of some of them, mstly the more muted colours than the in your face colours and with the matching interior it kinda works, but then i grew up seeing interiors like that in bugs
  18. Time attack is one of my fav motorsports, probably one of the only trully unlimited classes left (the others would be pikes peak and bonneville). Where else would you see a fwd civic almost match an f1 time around suzuka, or lamborghinis getting their rear handed to them by a stockish looking celica.
  19. Its not just lowest common denominator. I'm only in my mid 40s and i see most of the generation behind me trying to do simple jobs at work and failing, but I don't blame them. When I went to school we were taught to think, had real homework that wasn't multiple choice. I'm the nightwatchman on a boat now and the younger ones that do the day shift haven't learned anything useful to the job. We often have alarms go off (boats being refitted) and at least twice a week i get woken up to be asked how to turn the alarms off so i have them marked and numbered in the order they have to use. I'm the cleaner usually but they ask me because they just dont know what to do, and I'm happy to help them learn something thats useful to them even though its not my job. Today the one guy said about his brakes making a funny sound and he was going to spend a few hundred pounds getting a garage to fix them, so I took in a haynes manual for him and said to get his dad to help him fix them. He looked at me like I was insane for suggesting fixing it himself when he could pay someone to do it. I didn't tell him anything about the repair except to read the instructions a few times and he'd soon figure it out but if he doesn't I'll be happy to give him a hand on my days off. But give the same guy a computer and he can run circles around me. I know a lot of people put down the younger generation, but those same people that put them down wanted to pay less taxes and education is the first thing governments cut. We should be investing in their futures because it benefits us all in the long run. We blame the kids but its us that messed up their futures, want to go to college? well you have to go in debt first which means many kids that could be the next einstein or tesla just dont get the opportunities we got.
  20. Wild and cool.
  21. oh wow, its built from 3 corvettes, a 75, 81 and an 82
  22. The only recent revell bike kits i know of are the choppers. I beleive some of the japanese manufacturors do more bikes these days, as well as heller
