  1. I think your idea is what I'm going to do, I have the van kit so if the centres fit I'll use them in some resin rims. I think due to how the car arches are that I'll probably only go for 18 inch wheels so i can get it a little lower. Thanks for your advice gents
  2. Cool, your wheel save is some good work mate
  3. remember it has to all the distance so having a close look at the grand canyon, lol
  4. these are scale production 17 inch versions but i think they are resin centres now. ucsp also do them in resin in other sizes with tyres. I'll post up some comparison pics later if i mind on
  5. i appreciate the offer but it appears complete mate
  6. Some more arrivals this week. I didn't realise the wheels were all metal until they arrived so I'll put some street blisters tyres on them for one of my vws. The frog merc is pretty nice but the front of the body has a ridge where the mold wasn't properly aligned but should be an easy fix. The buick and pontiac are both rebuilders
  7. I see what you mean, the version i have looks to have similar looking lights but the housings are seperate parts from the body. Maybe the builder of this one smoothed them in
  8. Cool, you just need a version of the 4 door cuda front and centre for an awesome pic
  9. Do you have a pic of the possibly new part? I have a 67 i could compare the parts too
  10. They would work for the smokey and the bandit car, but all the pics of the hooper car seem to show it on chromed weld style or truck style rims.
  11. I'm in with the hooper firebird. I'll be keeping the colours but going for a version that might be used in a modern remake. Think of how they updated the mustang in gone in 60 seconds and you'll get a clue. I think the biggest hurdle will be finding similar rims in a suitable size. I'll be using the revell 1/24 kit with a c1 transkit for the body mods. Undecided on the engine but it wont be the kit one
  12. If you read the list in the link, some were ended years ago. I am surprised to see lowrider being cut though, and it looks like most of the truck ones are gone too
  13. the tamiya mk2 jag might be a source for the roof and trunk area, a lot of the shapes are pretty similar. still a load of work though
  14. Cool, it looks like its sat down the side of a shop unfinished for years, then pulled out and got on the road
  15. maybe i studied a different language at school but I think the stop part might give a clue. but then again.....
  16. Cool
  17. Next project on the bench. This is going to be a full custom crew cab ala the version dave kindig recently built on his tv show. My version is going to be a little more custom though as it's going to have a full size bed and the cab body is going to be from the revell bus with 3 side windows removed and one door flipped to the other side. The engine will be one of firerods resin 356 engines and i may use the fujimi 356 brakes and spare rims (my 356 kit had 2 sets of rims) and maybe a few other details if i decide against the scale production 17" 356 rims. I'm planning for this to be easily mistaken for a low stock version when its finished so there wont be chrome bumpers. For the paint I'm undecided between yellow and white pearl or the original vw show vans red, black and white but thats far down the road. I'll be using some highlight model studio pe parts on this such as the pop out windows. I'm thinking also to add a ladder and turntable to the bed just for some extra interest so it will be modified from the heller delaheye fire truck ladder but much shorter
  18. My fingers, my hand, my bench, my wall, my floor and one time my arm pit after mistaking model paint for deodrant. sometimes I'll even paint a model
  19. The imai/amex/various other cadillac might give you a good start point. the front end is all there but the rear would need some work. If you get the convertible version you might be better off too as the hard top version has fit issues with the roof being too short. The glass is a poor fit too. This is the one i have (now stripped and dissassembled) If you look past the blanket inteior its all stock and thats the stock kit engine too. This is also lowered as far as it was possible without cutting into the chassis. The convertible and hardtop both pop up pretty often on ebay and you should find one fairly easy if you decide to use one.
  20. there's also a rothmans porsche le mans car but the site doesn't like the pic pics from internet
  21. A chassis for one of the hasegawa american cars just arrived with the post, it beat the kits as they were sent with a courier so take longer. This ebay seller will get great feedback as they could have just chucked it out and said nothing as it wasn't included in the pics. brilliant service
  22. Add some of the big classic show names to your search mate, ones like pebble beach or similar and it should cut out the kits
  23. if there are any of the vw 16 valve engines left in stock I would be very happy to take them off his hands. I have loads of projects I can use them in
  24. It seems to be happening all over, the postie in the uk are wanting to strike, and the posties in finland are on strike. You'd think that since we all rely on them to deliver our internet purchases that we'd give them some support but we only really mention them when things aren't going right. Its now coming up to christmas time and my local posties will be delivering until probably 7pm on christmas eve, possibly later when they should finish hours sooner. I'll say it now, the postal service is still just as relevant now as it ever was, sure most people send more emails than letters but we buy loads online so these guys are probably doing heavier work then they used to, and for those of us in more rural areas they can be the only option for deliveries
