  1. I hope they use styrene for it this time. The kingswood has awful plastic that many glues just dont stick to and dont even think about model glues cos their even worse. But the subject matter is cool. I'm dreading trying to paint over the filler as i have no doubt its going to be a fight
  2. Does the glass and hood for the kit you have fit the new body? if it does you might get away with cutting the chassis into quarters and stretching and widening it as needed. You would have to modify the interior and dash too but its an simpler job than making the larger kit fit the smaller body if you choose fairly flat areas to cut. I would try to find the correct kit first though as it wont need cutting up and leaves you with an intact kit
  3. 3d printing isn't scratchbuilding, its just having the aftermarket on your bench as another tool. Even if you build the file from scratch (pun intended) its not really what we would consider scratchbuilding as to the majority of us on the forum scratchbuilt means its a one off and an easily printed file isn't that. Its more kit creating than scratching
  4. theres a revell kit of the 325. i dont know how accurate it is and it may be some japanese or esci tooling originally as its from the era when you didn't know whos kit was really in the box
  5. there is a 3d print of the tucker. its slightly toyish looking and a lot of the body detail is fairly soft. it could be a starting point if you put a bit of extra work into it
  6. Karmann Ghia with suburu engine 1972 Nissan Skyline on a calibra dtm chassis with twin turbos and all the cooling and 4x4 1951 VW Hebmuller mild custom with working front suspension Datsun Cedric Lowrider with ott one line painted roof Chevy Impala Lowrider, everything opens except the doors and the paint is almost impossible to get a decent pic of as i used reflective paint for the silver and golds under the candy. a little of the effect can be seen on the sides but it glows in person
  7. yeah but its very difficult to get the engine to fit properly
  8. the plastic they used for this kit is awful to work with. model glues dont work, most superglues are letting go after a couple of days and the model filler i can use as glue dont stick to the plastic. going to give it one last go with araldite epoxy and if it dont stick this is going in the bin. every time i do any work on it parts are coming apart so i'm glad i didn't chop it now, and might go for a flatter induction on the engine to save cutting the hood. I guess the scottish stubborness is showing itself because i just want to beat it now and i really dont care if its just in primer
  9. Nice job, the early style sure suits the 36s
  10. I have my left over trophy parts in 2 old amt boxes as they are just good decently strong boxes. all the other leftovers are in various size totes and food containers apart from my aftermarket and printed stuff which is in various stackable organiser drawers. I have a set of drawers next my bench for tools and sandpapers, glues etc..
  11. the dodge omni would be more likely to be done by maybe nunu or belkits. They were sold in europe as talbots and there were some rally car versions which can still be seen in classic rallying. They had some pretty big name drivers too
  12. aoshima and fujimi have a few of the small japanese trucks. and the parts box in australia certainly used to do the mazda rotary pick up
  13. it depends which driver you want but most are available from the aftermarket anyway so i'd just choose the one you like best. i think tamiya do them all in various liveries. Theres also a lot of other aftermarket parts for the tamiya kits, from tyres and lights right through to fully detailed engine bays. spot model in spain carry most of upgrades for the tamiya kits but they are available from loads of other places too
  14. kinda remind me of the st trinnians film that had them learning strip the willow.....
  15. Well i thought i was at the primer stage only to find the aussies smooth the chassis to the floors to almost making it a monocoque shell. So i'm doing it to mine as well. Hopefully get some primer on this weekend if all goes well
  16. I dont have a cat. I like cats but i just dont have space however this little so and so attacked me for vacuuming my own flat this morning. And then proceeded to be my best friend for a couple of hours. I think it just wanted into some shade
  17. Done my good deed for the day. I helped a cop that was struggling with his spoken english. He stopped me and said "how high are you?" so i corrected him with "no its, hi, how are you?"
  18. maybe some daylighter leds might work for taking pics,
  19. nah, thats just one tube of glue ordered
  20. The miniart tractor kits are very accurate. parts that could be one ppiece are are made from 8 or more pieces. For example theres a domed cover on one part that could easily be 1 part but instead this part thats no much bigger than my thumbnail has 14 parts! even some of the individual bolt details are seperate parts. Honestly, the only part that has surprised me are the wheels but thats only because the bolts are molded in. I thought the heller grey fergie kits were highly detailed but these curbside kits blow them out of the water. I've been working on one in my spare time for a few weeks now and it doesn't look like a tractor yet
