  1. That generation AMT Chevelle has been like that from day-1. Check out an original AMT '70 Chevelle promo, the sides have exactly the same mistakes. The MPC Chevelle may have been modified a couple times but it's still more accurate than the AMT.
  2. Lots of room Carl but I have something else in mind. ?
  3. You type your text and hit enter to make a space and then you paste your pic and then you hit enter again to make a space. and so on and so on.
  4. That blue part is a trailing arm. They call it a radius rod in the instructions ,, there should be one for each side.
  5. LOl,, pretty close after I added the sheet plastic under the hood. Looks like I'll have to add that crossmember and some motor mounts yet though.
  6. He's been selling them on e-bay for about a year now Gregg. Break out your savings because they go high. I looked at a real '79 in nice shape last fall I could have bought for less. ? And for all the work he put into it, I'm glad to see he's getting a good price. He has on on there now. I checked the past auctions and see the prices are coming down,, I'd expect , judging from the last few sold, that it'll go for around $350.
  7. Craig, your post has inspired me to try to finish up my 1/144 Rodan 720. "Starship One".
  8. I already fixed it Carl. The little arm got bent and jammed so it was stuck open. A couple minuets with a well placed pry bar and it's working again.
  9. Just incredible !! ???
  10. I will. Say, looks like the one in that pic still has the front wheels and metal axle on it. ?
  11. Looks like I'm gonna have to make some motor mounts. I checked the instructions and the rest of the kit parts and this is all there is. Only gluing points are the transmission crossmember and drive shaft.
  12. Yea, never happen.
  13. decided it was a good place to hide from the cops. They did get her sometime after she left my garage but she tossed the place looking for god knows what. A druggie that lives with her mother, as the cops told me. Didn't take the change from the cars or almost anything else but what she did take is just puzzeling. I had an old walmart bag in the trunk of the Saturn that I kept my brushes, putty knives, spackle and other painting stuff for work in. She dumped that on the floor of the trunk and took it. Took a bunch of paint rags I had in a strainer and took a small drop sheet. ,, and 2 pair of old cheap sunglasses. But she dumped out and went through every box that was in the garage quite a mess. Never took any tools or anything else that would have been easy pickings. What cheezed me off the most is in the process of going through my T/A she broke the drivers seat back. Dosen't lock in position now, just flops around and lays on the rear seat. I know, it could have been a lot worse but I've lived here for almost 14 years now and this is the first time it's happened here. I moved out of the other side of town to get away from this fecies.
  14. You really can't trust what you see on that site. I think about 75% of the pages I've seen there have major mistakes on them.
  15. Started on this AMT '77 Pinto a couple days ago. Pretty simple kit, the MPC Pintos were much better kit but ya gotta use what ya got, right? So far I've blended in the front clip and made simple inner fender walls. I'll also be cutting the bumpers away from their filler pieces and making new ones attached to the body so they'll be easier to paint body color. I think I have a better rear bumper without guards from an MPC '77 that I'll use on this car. The rear bumper in the kit looks like one from a later car. I think this should be an interesting little build. Not gonna be a drag car but will have a roll cage.
  16. Good to see you back Snake. I'd meant to e-mail you back but haven't gotten around to it. BTW, how do you like my new signature? ???
  17. Kinda hard to tell in these pics but I also raised the height of the peaks on the rear 1/4s so they would be closer to the size of the peaks on the front fenders and redid the flares of the rear wheel openings to match the front..
  18. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate al the kind words.
  19. I think if the Nova wagon is new tooling, a recreated '68 Coronet body and interior using the now 30 year old Road Runner/ GTX chassis would be inevitable.
  20. The wheels are from a 1/32 Jada diecast Cobra roadster and the tires are Monogram.
  21. Looks great. Love the night time pics. Good thing it's relatively small for an airliner. I have a Rodan 1/144 720 which is basically the same plane but slightly shorter and it's dwarfed by some of the more modern 1/144 airliners , not to mention a 747. ?
  22. That's actually an old reboxed Esci kit there Kurt.
  23. No, you don't have to. You can use any color you like under them and get different effects. I used metallic pink as a base on the red truck and metallic light blue base on the blue one. Using a light metallic of the same color under the candy makes it easier to get even coverage without light and dark blotches or streaks. You can also use different colors as a base and get different colors in the end. Say, if you used a metallic red as a base for a candy blue you'd end up with a purple or a metallic blue under a candy yellow would give you a green. see what I mean?
  24. If you have looked at the thread before, klik on the star or dot it takes you to the first post made since you last looked at that thread. Dot if you haven't made a post in the thread, star if you made the thread or have posted in it.
  25. Beautiful car !! Amazingly clean build.
