  1. John, I don't think it's all that bad. Just let it gas out for a couple days, wet sand it with finishing paper ,, maybe 4000 or 6000 grit to carefully get rid of most of the bubbles and shoot another coat or two of clear. I think you can save that paint, no problem. ?
  2. Hello Teijo, nice to meet you. ? I have been thinking about working on it for some time now. Maybe I'll get it done in the new year.
  3. The Detail Master interior junk photoetch set has a few on the sheet.
  4. Cool. I painted mine the same colors but haven't worked on it in over 10 years. BTW, what's your name buddy? I"m not gonna call you "scale".
  5. I have all the safari parts and plow parts in white plastic Tom Also, the "Commando" pickup version with the plow does have the long hardtop and full door panels according to the instruction sheet. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/jeep/mpc-commando-jeep-w/#media Like I said, I haven't looked at the instructions in years so it may be. Anyway, here's a shot I took for some reason of the sheet I have. Shows both the safari and spoof parts so they were both in the same kit at one point. I might take a look for that sheet sometime next week. Looks like al those extra parts were running changes and not unique to each year.
  6. Have you had anyone try to get those "Quicksilver" decals out of you yet Casey? ??
  7. I got this builtup years ago in a box of other built kits. The lot also came with a bunch of instruction sheets. The only Jeepster sheet in the lot was the one for the Safari version so I'd assume that came in it. I haven't looked at the sheet in years but I'm pretty sure it shows the long roof assembly.
  8. Had to make a new tray for the battery on my 1/1 so I knew the difference. I doubt most would notice the difference.
  9. Well, it is a beautiful girl.
  10. Um, Phil, before you go much farther, you might want to swap that battery over to the right side. ?
  11. Only if your equipment sucks. I still have most of the tapes I bought over the years, including my original copy of "Autoamerican" which plays and sounds as good now as it did 40 years ago. I paid almost as much for the deck in my T/A as I did for the car. It's a newer factory Pontiac 5 band EQ deck that's been rebuilt and modified to work in my '85 , which no one really thinks that much of as "high end" but what most people don't know is it's all Blaupunkt guts in them. They sound great if they're kept up and the head's properly adjusted and kept clean. And, yes, I can play my phone and MP3 player through it too. But, I do have a 12 disk Pioneer changer sitting in the basement, brand new, still in it's box, to put in the car sooner or later just to keep my options open. ? But I do find that a lot of disks are victims of "The Loudness Wars". [google it !!] BTW, any of you guys ever hear of "Discogs"
  12. The Auto World site has them. Sold out most other places. https://www.autoworldstore.com/category-s/234.htm They're kinda pricey though at almost $19.00 for two wheels.
  13. Just what I was searching for. The centers are supposed to be 3-D printed.
  14. I wonder if any of the guys who were put off that it's a "snap kit" will change their minds after seeing this? I'm definitely in for one or two.
  15. Yes, they are a handful but luckily, I like to do the bodywork. ? But they can look good with some work.
  16. Ernst Stavros Blofeld had several debonders, none of them were effective.
  17. Looks great. Excellent job detailing, especially the wheels.

    Brat Rat

I'm really not a fan of rat rods but I got to admit, this is really cool ! ???
  19. Using the AMT '65 annual custom rear pan and tail light bezels. The bumper was dremmeled down from the kit part. I also started flaring the rear wheel openings to match the front custom parts.
  20. Headlights replaced grille replaced with one cut from an AMT '72 Blazer part and detail painted. I'm gonna run some Tamiya smoke around the headlight lenses later to highlight them.
  21. Little Motor Kar Company still does. The rumor that Dale quit was only that, a rumor. Last time I contacted him, he was still plating.
  22. Yup. $120 cdn for the exhaust from my Saturn from the cat back ,,, over $450 for shipping !! and that's just to the east coast of Canada.
  23. Looks like you got a good start on it Phil. And the diecast looks cool too.
  24. The interiors were updated when the 1/1 cars were updated too. The '82 has the correct '82 seats, dash, console and steering wheel as the 1/1 I had, like wise the '85 has those things updated updated in the kit so it all matches my 1/1, including the very slight change in the steering wheel. I have the last issue of the KR kit, it does not have the early style dash or steering wheel in it, I just checked. The back bumper is different then any other issue as it has the "KNIGHT" license plate molded to it. It does have the early PMD seats but with the '91 interior bucket and KITT dash, steering yolk [not wheel] with the computer terminal add-ons same the original KITT kit. Basically, it's a hodgepodge of old KITT parts and '92 parts , , and oddly the cross-fire injection and duel turbos from the original kit along with the whole original chrome shot. Kind of an odd kit really but a great chassis/engine parts donor plus 2 glass shots, one clear and one dark grey tinted for restoring 3rd gen cars.
