  1. That's just SOOO clean ! Very impressive.
  2. BTW, it's looking incredible.
  3. You took the black out of the side trim.
  4. Yes, and tinted the rest of the glass too but it doesn't show up well in the pics.
  5. Been pluggin away at it. Almost finished. I used the wheels from a Revell '32 Ford and BFG tires from an MPC/AMT '88 Daytona.
  6. My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends,,
  7. I've been using 10 for a couple years. Once you get used to a few differences, I don't find it much different than the last version I was using. ,,,, whichever it was, I don't remember now. But, I just use my machine for surfing and such.
  8. Haven't started a thread on the build as it's one of those "as the feeling strikes" projects. It's actually a bit farther along than in the mock-up pic below, now in primer with the windshield, back glass and chassis from one of the AMT B-body kits fitted to the body. Might end up being more stock than originally planned. The wheels I have do have pretty good chrome on them. OK, enough for now, I don't want to throw this thread too far off coarse.
  9. Had to ask, ya just never know sometimes. Actually, I have a resin copy of the JoHan 1/25 '70 GTX I'll be using those Monogram wheels on to simulate a 16 or 17 inch wheel, as you said.
  10. David, you are aware that the old monogram kit is 1/24 scale and the new Revell kit is 1/25, right?
  11. Fabulous Caddy !!
  12. Outstanding build !! , , When I seen the first pic I thought it was a 1/1. Yup, I too have a '66 rebuilder. Painted the body in HOK candy teal over silver but never got much further.
  13. Looks great Steve.
  14. Thanks. It's just 4 inches longer Monty. I just looked it up. Really, All I had to do for the wheelbase was move the rear axle and control arms back a bit. The tires still fit in the wheel houses without touching them.
  15. I used the '65 chassis under this custom I did a couple decades ago. IIRC, I only had to move the rear suspension back a touch. No cutting was involved. I did cut out the molded in exhaust, patched the floor and used solder to make a new exhaust though..
  16. If you think the video is bad, go find it on youtube and read the comments. LOL
  17. Steve, The tint band on most North American cars is actually dark blue. ,, with either clear or light green/blue tinted glass. Over time the tint band will turn more of an amber/brown color. It has done this on both my T/A and my '68 Electra. The only green or grey tint bands I remember seeing were on some Asian or European cars.
  18. If you keep doing something long enough, by the time you have it down and can do it easily and quickly, someone will come along with a better way. I'll keep doing mine my way, they fit every time.
  19. Yup, exactly. Just work in small areas at a time and keep them wet.
  20. What I do is put a wet coat of Testors "wood" on the area and then dab it with dark brown on a small brush while still wet. Takes a bit of practice but you can pull off a pretty good "burlwood" pattern this way. Also, a coat of Tamiya clear yellow after it's dry adds a varnished look to it.
  21. Model Car Garage. It was intended for the AMT kit but most of the stuff works just as well on the Revell kit. The only problem with the PE set is all 4 of the CAMARO scripts for the front fenders were "short shot". There was another small sheet included with some more scripts but they were not usable either. I did e-mail MCG about it years ago when I got the set but never got a response. That would have been roughly 10 years ago now. I really would have liked to have had those to use on this car but I guess I'll make do with the decals in the kit.
  22. It's already colored but I did spray the floor with the same aqua I used on the rest of the interior before I applied it.
  23. Very nice kit. Great detail. The only things I added were the flocking, some foil and the photo etch steering wheel spokes and center and the pe dash knobs. Looks like I have to snap the back of the driver's seat a bit tighter though.
  24. Nice score Bob. Yea, the chrome on all the AMT kits from around that time looks dull like that. I have a couple I had the bumpers replated on. BTW, that's a '68 , body at least. '67s didn't have the side marker lights.
  25. Hey Joe, you might know this already but, those AMT/MPC gatorbacks came in 3 sizes. Looks like you have the smallest there. I'd have to check my tire stash to be sure but they definitely look right on that Daytona.
