Looks like you got a good start on it Eric. BTW, if you want to put the scripts back on, the MCG photoetch sheet for the '76 Caprice has Impala scripts that are correct for that car as well as loads of other stuff you can use on it.

Closest was JoHan's '75 Cutlass snapkit/promo but the body was almost completely different than the '76/'77.
-
Unfortunately, no, the '69 was never reissued. That was the '65.

Well, here's where it's sitting now. The floors are almost done and except for a couple small stubborn spots on the hood, she's ready for paint. ,,, And here's a test shot of the new paint on one of the hood vents. Should look real good with the silver wheels, skirts and decals.

IIRC, there's a section for community builds, maybe we should start a new thread there. But for now,, Here's where mine's at. The rocker trim was toast from glue marks so I sanded it all off last night, might replace it and the wheel opening trim. Also, like Snake's , mine has been sanded and the scripts are quite light. I'll probably also sand them off so off will come the door handles and arrowhead on the trunk lid. This is about how low it'll sit, more level though, or maybe on a slight rake. These are the wheels and tires I'm using. -
Jim Hall Camaro Trans Am 70 Camaro body?

I'd suggest doing a search on them on this board before sending any money. -
Maybe it's time to look at allowing hot rodded and street machine pickups in the general car section again instead of having them in the commercial category. I build street pickups and the occasional hot rod but I never build commercial vehicles and do not feel such builds belong with toe trucks and delivery vans. The "commercial " section should be strictly for commercial vehicles. After all, probably about 75% or more of the pickups bought on North America these days are for family use and never see anything heavier than grocerys or the occasional kid's bicycle in the bed.

Here's a vote for The Little Motorcar Company. They did the last couple batches of chrome I had dome and I'm very happy with the results and at a good price.

Jim Hall Camaro Trans Am 70 Camaro body?
Can-Con replied to vintageslotcars's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
That's exactly how I did the flares on this one James. I cut around the lip. leaving it attached at the bottom. Pulled it out at the top, filled in the gap with sheet plastic and finished up with a bit of filler. Never finished the car because the strip bled out onto the white when I clearcoated it. It's now in bare plastic again. -
Looks like a good start there Jeremy. Black with the red/orange is a classic look for those cars. My cousin Phil had an electric blue one with blue strips and interior. Beautiful looking thing but his brother's 455 equipped '76 Grand Prix would walk all over it all day long ,, but that's another story.

It's a good idea to put scotch tape on the back side of the sheet of P.E. before trying to cut any of the parts off. That way, they stick to the tape and don't go flying off into the twilight zone never to be seen again.

Model year id help
Can-Con replied to 57peppershaker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That kit can't be rereleased again as a '78 because it was an annual so it was updated yearly. The current kit that's out now as "The Deserter" is the last version of the kit. They could swap out the smooth side box for the stepside , they should still have the mold for that but it would take a new body with the older style fenders, new hood and new grille and new bumpers to bring it back to the '78 from the '84 that it is now. -

Here's how I did my '68. The '67 may be a bit different though. I may also have taken some libertys with it. -
How many of you name your builds?
Can-Con replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've only named one. The "Crimson Arrow" after the Riviera "Silver Arrow" show cars. But mine is candy red so the "crimson" instead of "Silver". -

Hey Steve, we could do "dueling Bonnevilles". Looks like we're both at the same point with both cars. Mine is also now stripped and the chrome is replated and I've started bodywork and have bought the paint. [turquoise in and out] -

Actually, the big rear window started in '75.

,,, and the rear window ,, and the seats and door panels.

If the turbine wheels from the Anniversary Edition car were still in the kit, you could build something close to an '80 too. IIRC, those wheels were a regular option in '80 and '81 and quite a few T/As had them.

Holy carp Paul, that looks exactly like the '72 I had. Same color, white vinyl 3/4 roof and black+white bucket seat interior. Yours looks to be in a lot better shape though -
Can you help identify this car?
