  1. Yup. I tried to talk some sense about this issue into the powers that be at the time but he was having none of it. "They" even went so far as to move some T-bucket hot rods to this section because that had the foot long box on them as most "Fad-T" hotrods had. and don't even mention Elcaminos and Rancheros. Maybe it's time to see if we can get the non-commercial pickups and vans allowed back in the "cars" catagory again where they are put in most shows and contests ?
  2. I made them. Cut the center from an old MPC 4X4 Dodge pickup 8 bolt wheel and replaced it with the center section from a 5 bolt wheel and cast a few.
  3. Matt, I'm attaching a link to the instruction sheet from an MPC '82 Mustang. the one shown above is just an update of the same kit and builds up exactly the same. You can see that the kits MPC tooled up in that era were much more advanced than thier earlier kits and in this case, probably more so than the Monogram offering of the Fox Mustang. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/mpc-instructions/1-sort/mpc-wild-breed-must/#media This is the kit I'd recommend if you can find one. There is one on e-bay right now but I think the $80.US price is quite high.
  4. As Steven said, the steering wheel is a custom part ,, from the '63 Galaxie. That console looks to have a Chevy SS emblem so I looked it up ,, looks like it's from a '65 Impala
  5. 1 is a '64 or '65 Lincoln. I think you are correct on 2 3 is possibly an AMT '70-'72 Chevelle but more likely same year Monte Carlo 4 is MPC '67 GTO 5 is JoHan '77-'79 Coupe DeVille The black bucket seat looks like it's from one of the black issues of the MPC '79 Nova
  6. Yea, I was really hoping it was a Revell announcement too instead of the Nova and the Pickup which was not really new news, especially the pickups which were all but officially announced already. Still hoping for that boat tail Riviera that was rumored to be coming from Revell about 10 years ago.
  7. There were rumours about the Novas too but not so public.
  8. Guess that makes me a zombie then. Mother will be so ever pleased. OR, maybe I'm just not a modeller.
  9. Looks good Keagan. You could have made the uprights more "L" shaped with arm the wheels attach to on the top and had it a bit lower in the front and still clear the wheel openings, that's how I did mine. But it does look good that way too. If you find that you have interference with the wheel opening you can try moving the wheel in a bit closer to the frame if necessary. Mine's not finished yet BTW. Got my 1/1 T/A back home last weekend so I've been spending my free time with it instead of at the model bench.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised to see an early Nova or Falcon sedan with a gasser option.
  11. Sweet build Curtis!
  12. I looked into that stuff about 15 years ago ,, still cheaper for me to just send out what little I need plated.
  13. Yes, it was. ,, and the "Fall Guy" truck is out now as "The Deserter" , just with the Hardcastle and McCormick" truck's grille.
  14. I heard that so many people on e-bay complained that the decals wern't good enough [read kit quality] that they just shut the whole thing down.
  15. How's this? They should be pretty easy to spot ,, they're moulded in gold almost exactly the same shade I painted mine.
  16. Adam, don't count out these 2 pickups. They have the exact same grille [and most of the rest of the kit's the same also] as the 2 wheel drive kit and may be easier to find. IF you need the 2 wheel drive front suspension, someone makes a copy in resin or you can use the front suspension from one of the mid '60s Revell Chevy pickups.
  17. Well, IIRC, that's actually a 426 wedge, Keith. Remember, that Mercury kit was first released years before the 440 was made.
  18. Looks good Curtis.
  19. Google is your friend. International Motor Sports Association
  20. That's a '49 dash Glenn. In fact, that MPC snapper is just a '49 with '50 trim. Looks like most of that kit was just copied from the AMT '49 and simplified. This is a '50 Merc dash I think Norm Veber was the only one who did that dash in resin ,, and it was excellent
  21. Quick [stupid maybe] question ,, why the roof swap? On the real cars, they were the same from the roofline down, wern't they? Was your sedan body damaged? I recently acquired a '62 sedan but it was built custom. I need a stock front bumper/grille, rear bumper/taillights and the rear grille before I redo it.
  22. Maybe it's an "acquired taste" or a "regional thing"? But they do go on. Last album was released about 5 years ago ,, not like thier lead singer died of brain cancer and completely ended the band.
