  9. I personally haven't had the best of luck getting warped plastic straight, but if is square when closed, I might just let it go. If it has to be straightened you may could make some inner hood braces out of brass stock. Looking good by the way! Me too!!!?
  10. Some real nice work going on here! You have my attention!
  11. Thanks Pat! Thanks! It was built from memory and reference pictures of other 7400s. Thanks Jim! They never figured out why the truck burned, but I really don't think that they tried very hard. They had a leased fleet of KWs, nobody wanted to drive the 7400s. Thanks Tom! One of my favorite and fun details is the mudflaps. Hudson had just bought out Lexington Specialty Foods, that is why my dad repainted the cab, bumper and wheels. He turned the mudflaps around backwards so the old name wouldn't show. Thanks Warren! A few of the dimensions are a little off, but the casting is excellent. Thanks Ken! I hope to put together a shop like yours one day for pictures. Thanks for the kind words! Thanks so much Chris! Thanks Mark! Thanks Lee! I've been wanting to build this one for years. I'm glad that I actually got around to it.
  12. Now this is really taking shape! Looks great!
  13. This is a model of the first truck that I ever rode in as a kid with my dad. This was the spare truck and my dad had recently painted it. My dad had driven it to Kentucky where another 7400 had a broken steering box. My dad decided that he could fix the driver's truck faster than the driver could swap trucks. On the way back to Lexington NC, my dad stopped and let me ride to the shop with him. That night for unknown reasons this truck burned to the ground. It was my first ride and the truck's last. This began with a cab from Spaulding Trading and Shipping. I modified the grill to get it a little closer to the real thing. The chassis began with the AMT K123 kit. I shortened the wheelbase to 142" in scale. The Wheels and tires are from Scenes Unlimited. The engine and transmission is from the AMT 352 Peterbilt. Decals are from Diecast and Decals. Many other parts were taken from the parts box or scratch made. I may add some pictures with the trailer later, but I don't think that this truck ever pulled a trailer after it was painted.
  14. Nice looking builds! The old Ertl kits are my favorite!
