You always have a way of capturing the look of the real thing! This one looks Awesome! The normal wear adds to the realism! Speaking of other family fleet trucks, what ever happened to the cabover Mack project that you were starting some time back? -

Great work!! I’ve been wanting to see this one done for some time now. It looks great! I watched your build closely and took notes because I “hope” to build an early 70s version some time. It is a gas burner with a sliding back window only and no rear door. Top notch work for sure! -

That looks s one impressive rig!! The orange looks great!! You really did a transformation on how this kit looks! Great work for sure! -
Thanks JT!! I had planned to paint this one yellow, but now I’m really fighting the urge to paint it orange. Now I’m undecided. Thanks Jeff! The engine is from Gary. It is very nice too. I picked up two Of these used, but one seems to be missing a couple of pieces. I have an original Clint Freeman version as well.

I really like these kits. They are temperamental to say the least. I’m not an expert for sure, but this is what I do. On the frame, assemble both sides at once. Don’t install crossmembers to one side and let dry. I usually use CA glue and stand the frame on end and check it with a square. On the windshield I installed a overhead console the the glass stopped against. I also installed pinstripe to separate the corner glass. -

I like what you are doing with this one! I had just the opposite idea of cutting one down and making a 20 footer. Looking forward to seeing more! It will be great frameless or with a frame. -

Ollie's strike again

At the Lexington store they don’t really have an organized system of putting out stock usually. The toys are somewhat together, but the models are often scattered throughout the toys. The flatbeds were all by themselves. I almost missed them after looking through everything 3 times. The Gremlins were by themselves. The KWs, Diamond Reos, Fire Trucks and some of the tankers were together though. I guess it adds to the adventure, not to mention we are getting some wind off of the hurricane and the power went off and the cash registers went off line while I was there. Thankfully I had some cash on me. I left with a Kw, 2 Diamond Reos, and 2 flat beds. -

Lexington NC store has K123, Diamond Reo, Flatbed, Tanker, and Pumper Fire truck, along with several cars including the Gremlin. You have to really look for them though. They are scattered all over the store and somewhat hidden sometimes. I couldn’t find any 4300s but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t have any. -
Very cool! I really like these cars! I had two 66 Satellites when I was16 and a 67 Belvedere for parts. Both were two door hard tops with consoles. Of course the 66s weren’t Hemi cars, but by the VIN the 67 was. It was missing the engine of course. Being young and dumb I eventually sold all 3. Congratulations on getting this one!!

Thanks Vince! I’m going to try the Union Pacific yellow on my next build a T800 dump. Thanks Dan! Thanks! Thanks so much for the kind words but my building pales in comparison to yours. Thanks Jim!! Thanks Larry!! Thanks JT!! I really had an orange project planned for my next build, but I got distracted by the yellow.? Thanks Rick! Thanks for the kind words Brian! Thanks DJ! I’m kind of odd in that I like odd stuff.? Thanks Warren! I really don’t remember these, but I remember seeing B-Model Macks on the road. Thanks! Even though it was curbside I was back and forth between the Cummins and the gas engine, but finally settled on the gas. Thanks Scott! I’m sure it would have been a work out to drive anyway. Thanks so much! Thanks!! If I can build it I’m sure that you can too! Model builders from this very forum are what inspire me.
