Google search is becoming trash; here's why
stavanzer replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Yep, Bill you are correct. Duck,Duck Go, is almost as bad. -
Different Kits. Those are (ex) Monogram 1/24 scale kits. Sodbuster is (ex) MPC kit in 1/25 Scale. The size difference may bother some builders, and not others.

It might also have to do with the fact, that in kit form the convertibles are just more fragile. The Windshield Frames bend and break, and interior detailing was not the forte of many builders, years ago. I think there are many reasons, why hardtop/sedan kits sell better. And, I suspect that if were to ask questions at an NNL, about the preference many modelers could tell that they were less comfortable with convertibles but, could not articulate exactly why.

And then some! Horrible Revell Kit, Shares it's engine with the Revell Courier and Luv Kits. Also boxed as the Sneaky Pete Pickup (last seen in the Blacktop Warriors box) & the Midnight Cowboy Wrecker. All use lousy Wheels that are waaay too wide, and have a front axle that is scale thickness, which means it is too weak to support the huge wheels, and breaks easily. Avoid it, at all costs.

HPI Guy Asphalt Modified Racer Review

And, Model Roundup is now listing a Chrome Dress-up kit for the Modified. If you watch Chris's video, you can see the one tree that they chose to chrome. -

Very Nice, Chuck. You have a real talent for building 'beaters' -
Very Nice! That old Revell '57 can be a bear to assemble. Many a good '57 ended it's life looking like your build.

I've got the new MPC Supra. I want to try to replace the tires with something I like better. I have two sets of old American Satco tires. Which set would work better? 10012 DUNLOP SP9-185/60R14 10011 BRIDGESTONE TIRE-165/70R14 Or, is neither set any good. Also. Does anybody want the set I don't Need?

The Yellow over Blue National Colours look very sharp! Your Workmanship is First Class! -
I agree, that it is time for Round2 to get the MPC Snap Blazer back to the market. Maybe add some Sherriff or Fish & Game decals, and maybe a trailer to sweeten the pot on what will have to be a $40.00 kit, by the time it hits the shelves. Or maybe the Parts Pack Motorcycle from 2-3 years ago.

Broken P-51 Mustang

I agree with your thinking. The addition of the truck would make the Dio just too "Busy". A figure for scale, though, that sounds like a great addition. -

Beautiful Work, Charles. -
Without a major re-tooling of the body, the Force 440 will not be coming back. Once the Body tool was changed to a Four Door, it would be hard to change it back. That said, the return of the '68 Coronet has proven that if Round2 Believes that a retool can make them Money they can & will put in the Time, Effort & Money to bring back a kit. I'd like to see the body (if a Two-Door) returned to the rare '75 Roadrunner Kit.

I think he will do it, but based on his comments during the review, I believe that there may be a couple of kits higher up on his list of "kits to build". We can only wait and see.

One of Connery's best films, IMHO.
-
That colour looks perfect. I need to get back to mine.
-
I'd contact Round2 about your tires, Peteski. Sounds like you got a bad bag. My Supernatural Impala had the wrong tires. Round2 sent me another set quickly. Worth a try.
-
It looks very Sharp. I like the colour you chose.

Looking at the Video, That kit seems to be Fun!

Steve G. Now would be a great time to bring this kit back, even for a Limited Run in small numbers. I missed out getting one the first time, and would not mind having another chance to buy one. And, since this thread is 9 years old, there is a whole new crop of buyers, who have never seen this kit! It will be brand new to them,
