  1. Thanks for the Offer. I'll get some brazing rod and cut my own. I've done it before.
  2. Well, Better than the '66 Malibu I guess. At least you have options. My guess is that the "new" Revell will never spend any money on tooling new parts for 40 or 50 year old kits. But, I could be wrong.
  3. Makes me want to start piecing together a T.R.o.G. Car. Between Ace's stuff and this thread.... I'm getting inspired to build.
  4. A Really Good Question. I have no idea, but I'll bet it comes from Southern California, and before WW2. I'd bet Dry Lakes Racing maybe. But, it could have come from East Coast Hot Rodding, just as easily. Hopefully somebody here knows.
  5. I always wanted to build one as a Mayberry RFD car. I've got an original kit put away for that. I just need decals and a Gumball Light.
  6. I appreciate that accuracy, Bill. I've given up 'accurate' and will now settle for 'plausible'. I do hope you can find an answer that you can live with. I so want to see you complete this build. Of all the W.i.P.'s you have posted, this is the one I most want to see you finish. I am ready to start a T.R.o.G. style build for this latest group build. Your builds serve as inspiration for me, I hope I can do half as good as you do.
  7. Got a kit there last week. The '78 Dodge Pickup. Sealed kit, but no wire axles. The tire bag is sealed but no axles. Has anybody gotten a kit recently with no axles?
  8. That body is perfect! Great start on a racer! Yes, the Ban on "A: Wheels is safety related. They are just too weak.
  9. Thanks. I had not heard about his passing. I have most of the Squadron books.
  10. They used the '34 for a Thom Taylor build too. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/instruction_sheetsh/instruction_sheets/revellmonogram/rm-34-ford-cabriole/?view=roll#1
  11. It does have two sets of wheels, and it will have 8 tires, so you did get that part.
  12. Not Sure how good the fit will be. The Badman is 1/24 and the AMT is 1/25. It may not be an issue, but I do not have the Monogram kit handy to compare.
  13. I never thought of this as a Drag Racer. Cool Build!
  14. My Dad did the reverse. USN '58-'62, Married in 62, Graduated in '69 or '70. Were you in the Vet's Club?
  15. Sharp Build, Jim! I too, like the wheels, you chose.
  16. I've got this book. https://www.amazon.com/Dry-Lakes-Drag-Strips-American/dp/0760312168/ref=sr_1_11?crid=H18MSSWASSIJ&keywords=dean+batchelor&qid=1666701571&sprefix=dean+batchelor%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-11 Dean Batchelor. "Dry Lakes & Drag Strips" Lots of photos, and some great info, about how the cars were built, who built them, and what the Dry lake & 1940s-1950s So Cal Car Culture was like.
  17. Wish Round2 could find the molds for this kit. They are already using the USPS Licensing.
  18. Great Build. The weathering is very realistic. I like the colours you chose.
  19. Bob's my Great Uncle, actually! ?
  20. That Riviera is a sweet kit. It will be a great car when you get done. Here is a quik overview of the kit directions. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/buick/amt-68-riviera-hardtop/?view=roll#1
  21. This Right Here! We know that the tooling for at least one dirt bike is ready to go. Throw one in the back of the Stepside. Or, as Luc says, release a Dirt Bike Race Team. I'd prefer a pickup to a Van, but the Dodge, Chevy and Ford Vans, have all been molded in the recent past. I'm not sure about a trailer, but maybe the trailer from the recent '63 Wagon could hold a bike or two. Throw in a sprue full of tool from one of the recent "Top Shop" tool sets, and you have a complete Dio-in-a-Box.
  22. Amen Brother! A Dirt Bike, or a pair of them would be just awesome!
