Already read the review once. I'll re-read it often in the next few months. I've been waiting for this kit to come out. I have a Nailhead powered High Boy Coupe planned already. But that skeleton interior looks mighty persuasive. Maybe, I'd better buy Two kits. LOL (like any of us are gonna stop at Two of these kits?) The '29 and this new '30 are a license to print money for Revell. I know these kits are not for everyone, but those that do like them, will like them in Case Lot quantities. For you Rep-Stock guys, you finally got your Stock '48 Ford Coupe. Keep Rocking Revell!

The taillights are on the right side of the Chrome Tree. Right between the two Loop Style bumpers. They are hidden in the shadow, and very hard to see.
-
Also, the Hemi from the '32 Roadster, the 427 Ford from the '32 Vicki, the Pontiac from the '36 Coupe, and the 390 T-bird motor from the AMT/Lindberg/Round2 '34 Pickup will fit in the '39/40 Fords. Some nice parts swapping possibilities there. I'm putting the 390 in a '32 Roadster right now.

Olds Engine is in the Tudor Sedan kit. The Coupe and the SD have always shared the Buick engine.
-
That whole sprue is from the Sedan Delivery, not the coupe. Odd, but nice to have the parts. On another note. If the Coupe and the SD came out this nice, I cannot wait to see what they do for the 39/40 Tudor Sedan, when they get around to it. I need more of those.

Thank You, as well, from me, Rob. That decal sheet is sure nice.

Moebius '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone news

Will any of the variants of this kit feature the "Twin Nostril" hood shown on the light blue car in the previous post? I know that the test shot does not seem to show one, but I am curious for the future. TIA -
Well, If it is the Fruitwagon, I'm in for one. If it is the Tall T, I'll hafta pass. I will wait and see which it is before buying.
-
Rob, that would be great. Be nice to see the "new" wheel covers that are in the kit.
-
I think all of them will be molded in silver. At least that is what I have read online. I'll be in for a pack of these in the future.

that dang TROUBLE MAKER....orange n' suped, a '40 gas coupe
stavanzer replied to AC Norton's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I just counted the AMT 40 Fords in my stash. 5 Coupes, One Sedan, and 3 Sedan Deliveries. Two Lindberg/ Palmer Coupes as well. I need to throw one together in the month. -
Since that Hemi is a Desoto Hemi, that would be quite unusual. Go For It.

That DOES not like a fifty year old kit. Excellent Job! Nailhead does look good. -
Since I've seen quite a number of "rat rods" out at Famoso at March Meets and the Hot Rod Reunion I've noticed a trend towards dirty, but running, stock engines. Filthy Old Skool V-8's and other strange things. SBC covered in Flame Cut 1/4 sheet steel doodads, and Cotton Picker spikes. 289 Ford w/ old 1950 Oil Bath Air Cleaner, just because it looks funky. That kind of thing. I'd suggest either the Pacer or Gremlin Stock engines, suitably dirty, since those kits are on the shelf now. The 430 c.u. MEL Lincoln V-8 from the recent Round2 Model T kit, only seems to get used in that kit. I think it might look good in your '34. The Buick Nailhead in the Revell Tony Nancy combo kit would look great too, as it is better looking IHMO, that the Buick in the various AMT '40 Fords. Or to keep it all in the family, a Revell Parts Pack Ford 427 Big Block. That kit is still fairly easy to find and is all chrome. Just some of my ideas. Alan

That build Rocks! I remember seeing that kind of Vette on the road all the time, back in the day.

I wonder what parts the Kats will add back in? I have the V-8 Tiger Version, just waiting to be built. Another one could be fun.

If I hit the lottery

Heck, I'd buy the rights to the Johan name, and then start producing new model kits. Then get a 1/1 stock Model A Ford touring car, and restore my Dad's old 1961 Chevy Pickup. After that a Jeep CJ-5 and buy and sell various Rods/Muscle Cars as I wanted them and got tired of them. Don't really want to have to "own" and keep track of more than 5-6 cars at a time. -
I watched the whole thing start to finish. Rossi won Fair and square. Would I have preferred a different driver to win? Of course. But he won, and did a great job of driving to do it. No cheating (on his part) this year.
-
S'nice Build. Rat or Hot, either way it's a true Rod.
-
Front needs to go a tick lower, but I like the rear. As for the Colour, I'd suggest an 1980's Posie's style Two Tone, breaking at the fender tops. Not seen often anymore, but from the side, that body is just tailor made for it, IMHO. Your thoughts, of course may be completely different. The wheels, (to me, anyhow) play into that Posie's vibe, especially the colour they are now.

Thanks, Dennis. Time to start haunting the 'Bay to get one of those Revell Monza's and take a stroll down memory lane.
-
Well, then, that should about settle that question.
-
How does the Revell Monza compare to the AMT kit? I remember building the Revell Monza in 1980-81. It had lousy tires but neat wheels, and an engine very similar to the one in the "Jimmy Carter Redneck" pickup.

Nailed it!
