Yeah, I have the original issue of the kit. I know what's inside, and the box art will not stop me from buying more. But, people who have not seen the kit before.... They are as likely to be turned off by the visibly bad execution, as they likely to be excited by the concept.. And, don't get me wrong. I like the Idea of the art. The action racing scene shows the car off in a natural and compelling way. It just appears (to me) that the final product is the result of a lousy artist. The Bronco kit has the same problem, especially regarding the tire treads. I don't mind the paintings, just get better artwork. See Moebius boxart for how is should be done IMHO.

The cover art for the Black Widow, looks incredibly Lame. Nice Concept, but it looks like it was done by an Art School Drop-Out. Look at the Oddly Round Front Wheel. This kit and the Bronco both have observably Sub Par Box Art. Not Sure why, but it needs to be stopped, and soon. This Amateur Hour, Grade School work has no place on $25.00 Kits.

I have the Latest Round2 Cuda. It does have the Recall Wheels. Mine will go an a Superbird.

If I'm counting correctly, there will be 12 tires in this box. Four Wide Whites, Four GT Radials, 2 Narrow Pie Crust Slicks, and 2 Wider Slicks. That's Worth the price of admission by itself.

Looking at this trailer, I wonder if it would make a good base to convert to haul the 'new' Pyro/Lindberg boats. They are supposed to be fairly large, but this trailer has two axles and looks stout. Might be a plausible beginning, anyway. And by backdating the wheel rims, taillights and bumper, I could see it as a 1960's unit. Worth a thought.

Del, we got the 79/80 Pinto wagon because MPC would update the body tool every year. From what I've read, for an MPC Pinto, that is all that's left. So, I don't think we'll see any other year Pinto from Round2 using the MPC tooling. However, AMT tooling for a Pinto may still exist. Not knowing what AMT tooled, I have no idea what Body style/Year it might be, but there is where I'd place my hope for another Pinto. As far as Craftsman Kits, I'm not a buyer for those, although I understand the pull they have for others. From chatter over at other boards, I suspect that what you see now (from Model King/ Dave Burkett} is all there is left. But, Round2 does surprise, so there is hope. After all did anybody ever expect to see a "Streetle Beetle" again?

Oh. Man, what a great review. I've already started mine. The fit is typical MPC, but it has been smooth sailing so far. I'm going all out and using every Flare, Scoop and the Biggest Spoiler in the kit. I've scavenged some great 1980's Deep and Deeper 5 Spoke rims for it. This kit will yield a superb example of the Malaise era Kruiser. Thanks for the great peek in the box, Adam. Another Winner from Round2. Now bring on that Squad Rod Nova.

Carl. Just buy the Decals from Round2. Go to the website and print out the form for ordering replacement parts. Decals are about 3-4 dollars a set. It's worth it. Service is quick.

Ace Norton has the right of it. I'll bet he is about 100% correct on the contents, of the kit. I only hope that Round2 ditches the 1980's wheels and restores the rims that were in the kit originally. I don't know that there is much else that could be put back into the kit. I'm in for One, at least.

So, the best I'm gonna get by combining the 39/40 Fenders, grille and hood with a 40 Coupe is a "1939-ish" Coupe. Better make is a Street Rod then, as mistakes won't matter. (as Much, anyway) I keep wondering when Round2 will return to the 1940 Ford Kits. The only one they have not put their distinctive "Spin" on is the 39/40 Sedan. I'm in for a whole bunch of them, as the Sedan is my favorite of all the 40's. New Decals, maybe those new narrow slicks from the Mod Rod, and a few restored parts to spice things up. 'IF' it ever happens, it will sell really well. I am glad to see the '57 and the '49 Ford come back. I wonder what else is waiting?

Those Lindberg Showrods are 1/32 scale. Supposedly they will have Chrome parts, for the first time in their history. Really just simple, almost toylike kits, good for a weekend slump-buster.

Don Sikora is correct. It was one of the first kit RE-Issued by Round2. I need another one now, anyway, LOL.

I bought the '49 Ford when it first came out in 2008. One of the very first Tom L. / John G. kits. I did not NEED a '49 Ford but got one anyway, to support the company.I'll be in for one of these too, if only for the Decals and Tyres. This kit is supposed to have a set of the same newly tooled slicks as the Mod Rod kit. That Owens Boat will be a keeper to, even if the tooling is over 60 years old and somewhat crude. I've got a Monogram Bass Boat trailer that I can modify to put it on.

Well, to answer my own question, the kit is listed as a 2'n'1. Stock or Custom, and with the Soap Box Derby car too. It'll be worth having just for the sleek little blower in the kit. This one looks good.

Yeah, you have it right. That is a white top. Probably for both reasons. Our stuff was not often very clean, so maybe a dirty, dull shine is the best way to describe it. You are correct though that it was not a flat colour.

It is at best a Semi-Gloss, but it fades to a flattish shade quickly. (at least in Arizona and Okinawa) It is not a dead flat, but more of a slightly gloss flat, if that makes sense. It will polish back up to a semi-gloss fairly easily.

They were painted "Strata-Blue" the Dark blue 'official' USAF colour. That colour is harder that heck to find, although any USAF base probably still has zillions of spray cans of it, at least if my USAF experience is any guide.

Only 4 tyres? Drat! What do the decals look like?
