  1. And How soon do you think we'll be able to buy resin copies of aforesaid Torque Boxes from some enterprising Caster to install on all our other Hemi kits? Fairly soon, I'll wager. Any Engine Assembly Directions yet?
  2. To Chuck and the Moderators. Fine. Move or delete the post. Me, I'm happy about the Fast and Furious kit. I'll have one just as soon as I can get one. I'll have whatever versions come next, as soon as I can buy them as well. As far as hand bags, my TL:DR. You showed great First Pics of what is going to be a great Kit! By the second page the first "Well, I wanted the stock version" posts came out. I am tired of that comment all the time. You do not have to be. As you said 'everybody' is going to have an opinion. I am, despite some griping on this board, pretty happy over all with the current state of the business. I get frustrated with Round2 for what to me, seems Sub-Par efforts on SOME new kits, but I buy half of them just the same. I get frustrated with SOME commenters who seem to have nothing good to say ever. And yes, that includes me. I need to vent less and be more positive. And sorry for posting a comment that sullied your thread. Was not my intention. I was trying to be gentle in my sarcasm. It failed. My Apologies. Alan Alexis
  3. Due to an eBay error many years ago (2008), I have a box of Four of those Revell 427 Ford parts packs. 4 of the Pontiac, Chevy, and Caddy engines too. Seller was offering one of each kind, for a total of four engines. Imagine my surprise when I got 4 of each engine for a total of 16! I offered to send back the extras, but he told me it was his mistake, and that I should just keep them. What a guy! I still have most of them. I see one going into a '57 Ford one of these days. Thanks for suggesting the 427, Bill. Now I know how to proceed.
  4. Actually, I think I'll put the Two Door body on the complete Wagon Chassis, and make a Gas Class Car that way.
  5. Man, I see all the angst here. "No Stock Hood" "No Back Seat" "No Open Headlight Grille" "It has the R/T Badge" Wah, Wah, Wah. Take a massive Chill Pill, stock Charger enthusiasts. Please? Revell will have the stock version out before most of you will even have finished detailing the engine in this kit. Do you REALLY think that Revell did not have the stock version planned for this kit? My guess is that the kit tooling was not even approved until the business case was made for at 'least' three versions of the tool. My bet on the three versions goes like this. 1. F&F Movie Car. 2. Stock Version. 3. Drag Racer. Look, We have gotten 5 ( FIVE!!) versions of the 1957 Ford, including a Del Rio Wagon that NOBODY believed was coming. Revell has given us 6 Versions of the now evergreen '32 Ford. We just got Two hits in a row of the '29/30 Ford Model A tool. It has been revealed here and on other forums that even the '49 Merc Custom, was planned from the beginning to have the Woody Wagon version, thus bringing back the Mod Squad car in new tooling. I cannot think of ANY Revell kit in the last three or four years that did not eventually spawn at least two versions. And since none of us work for Revell, nobody has even the foggiest clue what variants might have been or are still being planned, for current tools. I get it. We pay good money for kits. We want what we want! No Excuses, No Errors. "I'm not gonna settle, and neither should you." goes the cry around "The Interwebs". Well, given that Revell and Round2 are releasing 4-6 Kits each, per quarter, and given that by the very words of the folks on the boards here and elsewhere, few of us complete more than 5-6 models a year, the constant commentary about "I want this, I want that" is getting tiresome. I'll apply this advice to myself as much as anybody else. "Shut Up and BUILD Something!"
  6. Snake, I see the others have provided the photo's you sought. I look forward to building my kit. I do agree that a Blown Big Block would have made a much better Gasser Motor for this kit, and reusing the pitiful 312 was 'cheaping out' at it's worst. But better to have the kit, than not. The headers alone are almost worth it, by themselves. Revell, should sell that tree by itself.
  7. Snake, I have all 5 of the Revell '57's. I have no way to post pics, but I can give you a rundown of what is inside. Let me get to the kit, and I can share what I see. It'll take me a couple hours. Alan
  8. Tom W is correct. The more you remove, the better it looks.
  9. So, Same tool for both Snake and Mongoose, eh? Couple parts for this one, and a few different parts for the other one. That, and some new decals, and they will have gotten TWO new kits out of one older tool. Smart use of both their money and Tom L's gift for Licensing. And both should be popular sellers. The box art alone will move these kits in large quantities. I don't build rail dragsters and even I might buy a pair just for giggles.
  10. Just looking at my copy of this kit. Revell DOES hear our feedback. The slots missing from the Front Steel Wheels in the Roadster have been added to the tool. My Coupe wheels have the correct slots. Good Show, Revell! I cannot wait for January 2017 when we might start to hear some rumors about Revell's future plans for this tooling. I'd be up for a 289 powered Phaeton/Touring.
  11. When is this kit due to hit the shelves? I know that Revell says 4th Quarter or 1st Quarter next year, but I don't really trust Revell's timelines anymore. Kit looks really good so far. I want one.
  12. Looks, Great, So far. The Body lines work well.
  13. Scott, I have no Pics, but it I have the kit. Two Sets of Tires, one Pad Printed. Nice Decals. Two intake Options, Stock and Dual Car, Midrise Manifold. Two different Spoilers for the Trunk, and an optional Spoiler/Air Dam for the front. Sharp, Clean molding in White Plastic. If you remember what MPC kits were like when new, this is exactly like an MPC kit was then. Oh, the hard plastic tires are in there too. P.S. I saw pics of this kit in another thread on this Forum, just in the last week or so. Page Six of the Road Runner Thread. Pics by Don Sikora II
  14. Hey, Revell, can we have this back, please? If you have to have a kit to justify it, how about the River Rat Pickup and Boat kit, with "Extra Custom parts" I'm in for about 4 of 'em.
  15. Does it have the leftover S'cool Bus and Li'l Mixer parts in it, like the last version had? I've got two of those, mostly for the extra parts.
  16. Well, Chuck, look at the target market for the Real Thing. Aging Boomers and the few under 50 Nostalgia Junkies who are willing to pay for the darn thing. It's incredibly over priced, a bloated, Hot Wheels-eque caricature. The proportions are both foreshortened, and squashed. It has narrow, gunsight windows, and a curiously cramped interior, given that the demographic that it is aimed at has a huge percentage of er-Large Folks in it. It has been a joke since it was introduced, and only gotten worse with the "invisible" restyle. When this new Camaro was introduced, I wanted one, and actually had the ability to get one. Two test drives convinced me otherwise. Cramped Seating, that would just never fit me, no matter how I adjusted things, poor vision in all directions, and really awkward controls. The whole car had a garish, Toy-like feel, as if it was a Movie Prop, rather than a real car. The Slit Window vision thing is not just a Camaro thing, however. The Dodge Magnum Wagon, and the Challenger I drove, also suffered from the same condition. It is no wonder the Mustang is dominating the field. It is the least cartoon like of all the current Pony Car Clones, and the most practical to live with.
  17. There is a post on the Round2 Collector Model Blog showing the new parts tooled for the Kit. There are 5 new parts: One front Wheel half, a pair of Tall Wing Support Struts $ the 'Z' Strut that goes between them and, a new blower scoop. Although the parts shown are in raw plastic, I will guess that they'll be chromed in the Final kit. There is also a photo showing all the new parts on a built up kit, so you can see where most of them go. This kit does not interest me at all. However, like most here, I want it to be a major sales success. The more of these that sell, the better my chances for getting the obscure kits that I really want.
  18. I thought that it was mentioned a year or so ago, that the parts for both stock and custom would not all fit in the standard size box. That may not be true. I suspect that a stock only version might not sell in the quantities needed to make Round2 go to the effort. Again, I don't know, I'm just guessing.
  19. My Hobby Lobby had both the Regular Clearance Display, and a secondary one near it. Frankly, I'd have missed the trucks, I had not glanced over and seen the '23 Model T C-Cab kits on clearance. Seeing those, I went searching for more kits. They were jumbled together, and only the ends of the "Pete" boxes were showing. Once I confirmed the price, I snagged one. No, You cannot 'stack' Discounts at H.L. Clearance Price, No Coupon. Reg Price, Yes on the Coupon. I may visit again tomorrow to see what is left.
  20. The California Hauler Pete is on clearance at H.L. for 20.99. Picked mine up yesterday. Heck, That's cheaper than a Car Kit. Looks great in the box.
  21. Ordered my kit yesterday. Should be in my hands in a week or two. (Hobby Shop of Mom, personally gifting the kit to me) I'll settle back and keep reading the building tips and planning my 401 Nailhead powered Coupe build for when it arrives.
  22. Just checked H*bby L*bby, they are not there yet. Noticed that the '23 C-cab Van with the Hershey decals is on clearance now for about $15.00. The last of the Fruitwagon kits are gone now too.
  23. Just picked one of these up. Looks great in the box. Molding is clean and sharp. Tires look good, especially the GT Radial printing. I may just have to start on this one. Vintage 'Late' MPC at it's finest! This build gets all the 79/80 Flairs & Spoilers and maybe some flame decals. I may try to shoehorn in a Slant-6 just for the proper Malaise Era "All Show and no Go" feel.
  24. Or the 1994 25th Anniversary Roadhog XGTS in the Memorable Magenta / Cerulean "Throwback Colours" from the '69 GTS. The only Chrome on the '94 is the Special Edition Wheels. Remember though, that the 1994 wheels were somehow recreated by the factory with 7 spokes instead of the correct 9 spokes of the original 1969 GTS. The kit gets this wrong, so you will need to find some nine spoke wheels in your stash.
  25. Well, the Roadhog 225 kit would cost less if they did not plate the chrome tree. After all "Real Modelers" TM. have access to Alclad now and can just paint the parts they want chromed, rather than stripping the whole tree. That should knock 15% off the retail price right there.
