Building the Streamliner from the AMT Double Dragster kit
stavanzer replied to OldNYJim's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looks Good So Far. You are correct, the time spent tweaking the parts now, will pay off in the future. -
Very Clever. Thanks to The V.A. and my health issues, I now get 3 or 4 empty pill bottles a month. This Super Glue idea is Great!

It was truly awful this morning. Seems to be somewhat faster now. -

All those photos, and not one good, clear look at the Front End. I'd expect damage to the grille, since it is never shown.

No You are not. All of the "new" Revell Tri=Five Chevies could do with a comeback.

Do It! Do It! Do It! -
Thanks, Hakan. I had wondered. I really like the W900 Aerodyne. Now that I know the the Monogram is the only one, I'll start looking for one to build.

Wow! It sure looks nice! I like the Maroon Paint. Flawless and Sharp. Good Show. -
Sarc.... Well, Revell can change out Grilles and Stock Wheels to depict different years. The 5 small, round lenses that are already on the Glass Tree indicate that a Light Bar or Brush Guard with Lights has already been planned for. (and given what we now know about Revell tooling, those parts have already been tooled, and are just waiting for release sometime in the far future) I can see the Blazer going into a couple of different variations. The Real Thing used this sheet metal 1981-1991. Full Tilt Off Road Warrior, Base Model, Maybe other LEO uses. Even just a nice, Weekend 4x4, with a Gas Can and Brush Guard. Or Pair it with a trailer and some Jet Skis, or an ATV.

Did AMT ever tool up a Kenworth W900 Aerodyne? If so, I'd rather have that back, rather than the Cabover truck.

Monty, you are so correct! You do not know the half of it. Most High School Grads now are functionally illiterate. They seldom read any thing but computer or cellphone screens, and many cannot write or spell. Of course, not all are like this but many are. High School now is Day Care for Gang Bangers, with some free meals and education for the few who want to learn something thrown in as an afterthought.

Sounds Highly Plausible, given how kit tools were Mixed & Matched to yield new product to sell, back in the day. After all, it was just tooling for Kid's Toys, so what did it matter if parts of the tooling were misplaced or lost while setting up for a new run. Of course those things mattered, but having to kits to sell was the gaol at the end of the day. We have seen this exact sort of situation with other tooling from other kits. I'm not saying that is what happened to this kit. Just that Craig's Theory makes sense.

I thank Everyone for the Tips, as well. I have run into this myself, and been stumped on how to fix. No More Purple Pond.... Thank You.
