Nice, Clean Build. It complements the Fire Truck you posted. I like the Red. Good Show. -
1927 Ford Model T Fire Truck
stavanzer replied to Bobchayer's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Oh, the AMT Kit! Great Work! It is such a wonderful kit. You did a Fantastic job on the kit. Those wire wheels are a bear to get together neatly. Yours look really good. The detail painting is Spot On! I have three in my stash. Good Show. -
looking for Camel Trophy decals
stavanzer replied to eran_k's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Here is a start. But, they are generic. https://www.ebay.com/itm/255670471776 There seem to be a lot of 1/43 and 1/18 scale Camel Trophy decals listed on eBay, but not so many 1/24 decals. I'd start on the 'Bay, and then start searching for European Decal companies that would be most likely to offer them. Off my Head, I'd try Patto's Place in Australia first. https://www.pattosplace.com/home.html after that, I'd try looking for Decals Companies on this list from Rocketfin Hobbies. Lots of Aftermarket listings here. I keep the Rocketfin link bookmarked. https://www.rocketfin.com/model_car_links.html -
Round2 has been on a bit of a Dry Spell for me, lately. But, I've got the New Ford Pickups to work on, the Boss Nova Wagon, the 79 Chevy Nova, and the '64 Dodge 330 still to purchase, and new stuff coming out from Round2. So it is not a bad time by any means to be building cars. After seeing all the Interest in '57 T-Birds over on the Build threads, I may even get one of those to see what I can do with it. I really like the Fastback top. So, just because, I'm not very interested in the latest new Kit Releases, doesn't mean that Round2 is somehow failing me. It just means that I have idiosyncratic tastes, and not every kit trips my trigger.

I love this Car! The Build is perfect.

Tell us how you really feel, Mozzi. Don't hold back. I presume that is a '56 T-Bird, not the '57 that was just out? The Van will sell due to the Wild Decals. But, Full Size Vans are a sort of One & Done Build for most modelers, I suspect.

Moebius 1965 Nova SS & 1965 Nova Restomod Announcements
stavanzer replied to Erik Solie's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
That is my Understanding as well. The 1970's Hot Rod Magazines refer to Resto-Rods quite often. Many in the photos, could be stock, except for the Rake, and Wire Wheels on the Big'n'Littles. All other mods are hidden. -
That is Good News, Les. Glad there is an improvement, even if it was not a big one.
-
The Yellow Pearl Paint, is Superb! The whole build works in every way. Good Show.

Bad Waymo !!! BAD BAD BAD !!!

Every Day they stay up there, it gets Less and Less Funny. A good website to keep up with Space Related doings is: https://thesilicongraybeard.blogspot.com/ He is commenting about the Recent Political Unpleasantness right now, but will return to Space Stories Soon. He shares a lot of Ham Radio Knowledge too, if you are into that kind of thing. -
Uncle Tony's Garage. I like his down-to-earth attitude, and his genuine dislike of Muscle Car scam artists. Low Buck Garage. (Really, Really Great Stuff.) He has a pair of WW2 Halftracks, and other odd things. Steve1989MREinfo. He eats MREs from all over the world. Blancoliro. Boeing Triple 7 Pilot (777) Aircrash Reports. 357Magdad. Tool Restoration. PreWarMotoring. (antique cars being driven) For Models I can only stand two channels. HPIGuy and MD scale models. Everybody else is just annoying. The guy at Monster Hobbies Model Car Garage, just grates on every nerve! The Hat, The Voice, the times he wastes on his silly Intro, the "What's in the Box" foolishness. Sadly, I force my self to watch him sometimes because he shows some really neat kits, that never appear anywhere else on YouTube. And, of Course, Steve Magnante! There are others, but that is most of them. You Do Not Want to ever see my list of Music Channels though.

Not, That I am aware of, but others may know more. Tim Boyd, or Dennis Doty are much better at Kits History than I am.

Recreation of 1964 Model Car Science ad for AMT Trophy series
stavanzer replied to alan barton's topic in Model Cars
Outstanding Display! What a great Tribute to AMT. I hope Steve G, and the Kats at Round2 see this! It is an impressive showing of AMT Kits and their History. And, look at how many of these kits are still in production today. -
Boy, the Tires look so real. The car is great! Was it hard to assemble?

My wife made Chili Cheese Dogs, and Homemade Blueberry Cheesecake! It was awesome!

Shelley Duvall (The Shining),has passed away.
stavanzer replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I did not see The Shining, until last year. What a Truly horrible movie. After hearing how great it was, and how much my wife liked it, I was primed to really enjoy it. I did not. The only things I liked about it were the cars, and watching the backgrounds for things. (Furniture, Food, Set dressing items), Even Scatman Crothers was wasted. Shelly Duvall wasn't too bad, but the character she played was both sad, and not very real. I normally like Nicholson, but He just got weirder, and weirder. I could not wait for him to be gone. The whole movie was a bad nightmare. I do not see how it ever got famous at all..... The thing to me, was that there was nothing really likable about any of them. So, to those who like it, Have at It! but do not be surprised if you show it to people who have never seen it, and they do not share your liking of it. It is now almost 45 years old, and it might be aging badly. -
why did round 2 switch tire brands
stavanzer replied to michelle's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sounds Plausible, I guess. Sad what our World is turning into. -
What a Brilliant save! I like the colour! Good Show.

A beautiful G.P. Ruined though, by the oversized, ridiculous Modern Wheels.

Revell Snaptite California Pickup (Datsun)
stavanzer replied to dietgilroy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'd build it happily, if I had one. Kinda odd looking, but paint it something other than Pink, it it might look pretty cool.
