  1. It has a deceptively mild box art. The engine is very nice, and the construction of the bed seems to indicate that it might be possible to combine both stock and the rod version in one box. That is a Huge Guess on my part, however. It may not be possible. Only the Kat's at Round2 could tell us for sure. Here are the directions, for the Version Tim is referring to. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1961-1970/amt-68-chevy-el-camino/?view=roll#1 Here is the stock version. I have not done a part number by part number comparison to see what parts change from kit to kit. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1961-1970/amt_1968_chevrolet/?view=roll
  2. Well, let us know what you think when you get one, then.
  3. Good Work, on this truck. The Colours are vibrant, and sharp. Good Show.
  4. Excellent Build. The Wheels really look great on this truck, and the Colour fits the build nicely too. Good Show.
  5. Thanks, Mark. You've got a better knowledge of these kits than I do.
  6. Wow! That looks Great, Chuck. I like the Lilac you chose. It was not an expected choice. Good Show.
  7. If you are going to be doing a lot of modifications to it, I'd get whichever is Cheapest/Easiest to get. Lindberg makes a Challenger too. Monogram (now Revell) https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/132/monogram-2214-1970-dodge-challenger AMT (now Round2) https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/dodge/amt-1970-dodge-chal/ https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/dodge/amt-yankee-challeng/
  8. Looks like you have some great wheels for it too! Go ahead and build it. I'm not sure if it is 'rarity' or just age. It is a very old kit now, and the guys who built it when it first came out, are not young anymore. Let us know how it builds. Good Luck!
  9. Now, to see what tires it gets.....
  10. Like Deal's Wheels, only a bit smaller. Great Build!
  11. Very Nice build. That Red really makes it pop!
  12. That is Great! You have a great set right there.
  13. Wow, what a Great VW you have there. I like the wheels.
  14. You are so right about this, Mark. I know I got a few of those myself, as did a couple of my friends. It was where relatives who wanted to get you a model, got models.
  15. I would suggest that just about every Model Car Builder in America, over the last 50 Years, has built at least one copy of this kit. I've built at least 3, and have the most recent copy waiting in the stash right now. As I think Tim Boyd noted in a long ago article about the Top Ten Drag Racer kits, the Badman, just captures the Zeitgeist of the 1960's Gasser better than almost any other kit. Technically it's a Hash, but grabs the Spirit of Gasser Madness in it's teeth and won't let go. I like the kit, and I think many thousands of Modelers do too. And somebody used to produce Badman style decals with different numbers, to get closer the SBC Cubes. (283,327,350, &383). And we have all seen Folks who have transplanted a BBC into the kit. I Just wish that Revell Could find a few more of the stock parts in the tool!
  16. Double thumbs up, on that one, Tim! I missed that the first time around and will jump on it, if it returns.
  17. Fireworks. Especially Illegal Fireworks. Even more, the ones from Mexico.... Been nothing but Booms, and Flashes for the last 2 hours. My Rottweiler (age 16 months) is not doing well, and her Vet recommends against Doggie Tranquilizers. He tells us, that they only make her more aggressive and nervous.I sure don't want that in a 100lb dog! One out of every Ten people here in Bakersfield fancies themselves a Pyrotechnics Expert, so there will be 4 hours of explosions tomorrow night. Fun to watch, but this is my second Forth with my puppy, and I'm not looking forward to it. The Sheriff's helicopter is supposed to be up looking for, and ticketing the illegal Fireworks (Mostly Mortars for some reason) this year, but it does not slow anybody down. Temp was 109 this afternoon. Supposed to be 113 tomorrow. I hope that will slow down some of the Pyros. It is 9:45pm as I write this, and it is only 99 outside right now. It will be much the same tomorrow night. 100 Deg at 9pm.
  18. It was designed by Tom Daniels. There was no actual car. This is the Kit, that the Badman came from. It is all that is left from the PB83-198 Kit. The Tooling still exists in 2024. Here is the Kit today. You will note that for the first time, you get two sets of wheels and two sets of tires. And here is the Entry from the TD Site. https://www.tomdaniel.com/85_kits/frm_85kits.html
  19. I've owned and driven the later Ambulance version, the M43. Heavy, and Clumsy, you have to be 18 years old, and it has to be your first Car, to be any real fun. You can only use 2nd,3dr & 4th gear in the Hi-Range on the streets. It has 'Armstrong' power steering, and 2/40 Air. The wipers were vacuum operated, so taking off from a Signal in the rain caused the wipers to stop, at the worst possible time. The quirks did not matter much then, because "Hey, First Car!", but living with one full time would be no fun. I loved it at the time, but it was a big Pain-in-the-A** to drive, and slower than molasses even in top gear.
  20. I really like where this is going. Medium Duty Rigs seldom get much love from Modelers, so your build stands out! The Quality of your scratch work is a cut above!
  21. Great Looking Build! The 6 Cyl, really sets it apart from the crowd. It was worth the trouble to take the time to make the= conversion.
  22. Very Nice Conversion Work!
  23. I think they are Ford Truck too, but I'm not a Ford Expert. I do think they will look great with your build! A very nice choice.
  24. I don't think that is the case Jim, but the new kits have been a bit thin on the ground lately. But, we modelers are a bit spoiled right now and expect a bunch of kits every month., and I suspect that in the next 6 months, we will see more kits that we want. Round2's releases seem to come in waves. There will be 2-3 months when things look a bit slim, and then you have a couple months with 6-8 new kits all at once. So I don't let the lean months worry me. Past history has shown that the Kat's have great plans and just waiting a month (or Two) will yield good results. So, Buy or Do Not Buy, there will be more next month.
  25. Yeah, but you never 'own' an electronic mag. Whole point of magazines to to have something to hold. I'd rather just pay for a real subscription.
