  1. What he said and including the flat-tow towbar hooks on the front end. No trailer for this baby, just hook her up to the pickup/wagon/sedan and go racing. I love the overall look of this build.
  2. Really sorry I missed it. I used to attend every year when I lived in Rutherfordton, NC, was much closer then. Now it is too far to drive.
  3. Very well done. Especially like the military theme, although would have preferred a USAF approach since I am retired Air Force, but I guess the USMC will suffice.
  4. I have always loved the first gen Roadrunners. They just look fast, even sitting still (or rusting away in a salvage yard). This one is beautiful, like your attention to detail and the change to the hood. If I may ask, whatever happened to the 1:1 - do you still have it? My first real car was a '65 SS Chevelle and it is long gone.
  5. Not only is this product totally absurd, but the warning is even more ridiculous.
  6. Really sweet Comet, especially like the engine swap. I have a couple of the Mustang kits, minus bodies, I scored from Ebay. This build has got me midn working on how to use those parts. Did you do any chassis modifications?
  7. I really love this year Pontiac. Sure wish Round2 could find the mold and reissue the hardtop version of it. Looking forward to your finished build.
  8. Beautiful FORD truck, but then like Mustangs, ALL FORD trucks are beautiful. Anyway I really like the way your changes have improved the overall aggressive look of this build. You might want to consider parking it on top of that Corvette - sort of like a speed bump.
  9. This is some really beautiful work. One of my favorite parts of modeling is watching someone else change body styles. Looking forward to your preogess.
  10. There is pretty much the same issue with the Revell '65 Chevelle Malibu. It is supposed to be an SS, but it does not have the SS rear fascia, only the plain Jane Malibu.
  11. One of my favorites is the #1 step of any new small appliance or anything else that comes in a box. #1. Open box. Well duh, the instructions are inside the box, how am I supposed to know to open the box? My second favorite is the list of side-effects on medicines: "May cause diarrhea. May cause constipation" or the ever popular "May cause drowsiness" on a box of sleeping aides.
  12. You may have to resort to scratchbuilding some pieces for this lift. This will probably netial building longer mount brackets for the ends of the A-arms, making longer springs and spindles, and of course longer, beefier shocks. I would suggest going to some websites that offer 1:1 lift kits and see what the pieces look like. Hope this helps.
  13. Beautiful build. Really like the way you transformed it into a 4X4. What did you use for axles? That camper is just beyond words; totally outstanding work on this one.
  14. Sure makes me miss my '65 SS. Like the build, as others have said, not really crazy about the size of the wheels. What is that color? Too bad Revell didn't include the SS rear fascia on this model.
  15. Don't remember Plymouth making a Duster with a Dodge grille. It's hard to see on the box top, but it does say Dodge.
  16. Actually, that was my intended question. How could a Hemi powered E Body run in SS/DA? That has got to be one of the lightest, highest horsepower combinations available.
  17. Really enjoy these type builds, 60's - 70's Superstocks, ProStocks were my favorite racers, well I really dug the Gassers, but they were phasing out in the early 70's. However, there is one thing I have never understood. How could a Hemi-powered Cuda or Challenger be classified as D/SA? What would have run in A/SA?
  18. Neat concept and a very clean build.
  19. MCM is my favorite modeling magazine, and I have just recently renewed my subscription. I do subscribe to the other one and it is alright, however I do tire of some of the repetition of articles and the "special gifts" which are nothing more than reprints of older articles. As stated earlier, I have recently renewed my subscription, although with great trepidation; by recently I mean over eight months ago and I have already received two issues. The problem with not meeting deadlines is not a recent issue. Six or seven years ago I used to go into my local Hobbytown (remember those) just to see if the latest issue had arrived on time, which usually it had not. There were times of 8-10 weeks between issues, yet once there was two issues in less than four weeks. After retiring and moving I am now more than 45 miles from a hobby shop and 35 miles from a Barnes & Noble, therefore I subscribed, realizing there would be some inconsistency with timely magazine arrival. This latest problem cannot be placed fully upon Golden Bell Publishing, since late deadlines are a common problem with this magazine. What is the answer, what should we as subscribers expect? I do not know, however this whole goat-rope is extremely frustrating and does not set well with many of us who have sent our hard earned money in to help keep this magazine afloat.
  20. Since this is a jet-powered machine the power does not go to the rear axle, therefore there should be no need for wheelie bars. Wheelie bars only purpose is to counteract the tendency for a car to rotate around the rear axles under acceleration. This is going to be an outstanding build. I have an Allison powered Falcon Ranchero in the planning stages. BTW are you going to fabricate some form of scoop around the intake? Where it is setting now, the engine would suck the back of the cab loose; actually the engine would probably starve for air.
  21. I have read the blurb on the front page of the website and am wondering the same thing. How can anyone in the magazine business expect more people to subscribe if the ones who now subscribe are not satisfied with the product? I do understand there are issues involved which are beyond Gregg's control, however i would really like to get another issue of the magazine.
  22. It does really stretch the imagination to see a Mercury in this one. I believe the top is from a '54-56 Ford or possibly a Mercury.
  23. Excellent Mustang and an outstanding build. Please tell that guy in the picture to get his grubby hands off the paint job?
  24. This is definitely an awesome build. Love all the detail you are incorporating with it. "My hope is that the ribbon doesn't fray when it's cut" You might try brushing some white glue (thinned Elmer's works) along your cut line, let it soak in and dry. Make the glue area just wide enough so you will be able to cut and have glue on both edges of the cut. This should keep the ends from fraying.
