  1. Got mine yesterday and did a quick glance through it. Some of the "Sketch Pad" has got my mind (what there is left) to working. Sure glad to see it, it is like having an old friend you haven't seen in awhile come by for a visit.
  2. Thanks for that clarification picture, I stand corrected. Still one really well built diorama.
  3. Was definitely a great show. As usual I sold a few and bought a few more. Got to talk with O-man and his son. The only problem I saw was the average age of attendees is probably 50-55. Almost every year in the past I have had the opportunity to give a kit to a young person who is being shown around by his model-building dad; that didn't happen this year.
  4. Very interesting build, I can almost hear the weapons firing. As the others have said, your attention to detail is outstanding. My only concern is the footing for the fellow behind the 50 caliber. With the recoil of that weapon I am not sure standing on the edge of a pick-up bed side would be sufficient. Maybe I am missing something. Either way I really like the work you have put into this piece of art.
  5. Here is a VW gasser I built a few years back. I used the Revell "Flower Power" really had to sand a lot of body flash. Dropped the front end, sanded slick a couple of tires, scratchbuilt the roll cage, intake manifolds, and stinger.
  6. Beautiful Sunliner, that is some mighty fine looking chrome work. I converted the Styline kit to a Starliner using the roof from a 60 Starliner and I thought I was going to go ballistic with all that BMF.
  7. Too late I switched to Imgur and am fairly well satisfied with it, although I do have to reeducate myself every time I go in to post a photo.
  8. Excellent Effie, really like that color on this one. I have a feeling the driver will get very used to blue lights in the rearview with that exhaust system.
  9. Great looking build. Only in Dubai would they have a Lambo for a police car.
  10. Simply outstanding build. I love the belly tank lakesters and this is one superb example.
  11. Really nice looking Gasser. Just looks wicked sitting there. Don't see too many 56's built this way. One question, why the angle cut on the door windows?
  12. Thanks for the suggestion, I will give it a try. I have heard of this technique before.
  13. This type paintwork is jaw-dropping it in intricacy. I keep looking and continue to notice new details. One beautiful build and excellent detail work.
  14. Definitely an exercise in extreme creativity. Another suggestion on keeping the 'A' pillar attached is to use some acrylic fingernail filler. It is some really strong stuff, I use it anytime I do any major body cutting; the bond is stronger than the parent material. You can find small kits in the cosmetic section of most major big box stores fairly cheaply. It dries very hard, is a bear to sand and requires more than adequate ventilation.
  15. Very nice looking street custom. Really like the looks of the frenched headlights.
  16. One downside to making good photographs is that it will show every minor imperfection in your build. One tip I would like to add is to be sure you really dust your model well before taking the picture. Nothing detracts from a well-built model more than flecks of dust all over it.
  17. I ran across a store in Salisbury, NC and another one in Galax, VA called Merchandise Mart. They carried quite a good stock of Revell kits, not necessarily recent issues but they were reasonably priced. Last time I was in one of them, kits were selling for $9.99, but that was four or five years ago. Where I live now Salisbury is 50+ miles one way and Galax 65+ one way, so doubt if I will be able to check into them again. However, I do run through Ollies anytime I am in town.
  18. When I am in town I will usually make the rounds of A.C. Moore their app is usually at least 50% and occasionally 55% plus they also offer a 10% military discount, however their inventory is as limited as Michael's which usually has a 40% coupon on their app. I have scored a few "opened/pilfered" kits for half-price" from Michael's - they make good parts kits, although many were complete. The HL is usually pretty well stocked, of course my first run is to the Clearance section, then the end-caps to see what they have discounted. I will usually make a quick swing through Ollies, but more often than not it is a futile effort.
  19. Glad to see we have another "Flyboy" in our midst. I gave them 21 years, retired in '89. Really nice Chevelle, my holy grail is a '65 Chevelle SS with a 327 4 speed in Tahitian Turquoise. I owned one with a 283, really loved that car. Looking forward to some of your builds, so "kick the tires and light the fires."
  20. That is one beautiful Buick, really nice color choice.
  21. Completed a trade with Xingu, very pleased. Well packaged and quick shipping. Thanks.
  22. Can't remember where I read/heard it, but it seems alcohol may do some nasty things to resin. Makes it rather soft or something to that effect. I would possibly try Super Clean or Purple Power or maybe some LA Awesome (Dollar General and reasonable) first.
  23. Simply jaw-dropping amazing scratchbuilding. Are you sure you don't have a bunch of little scale welders, machinists, and metal workers running around your bench? Looking forward to updates.
