  1. Mighty fine looking Charger. I have two in the to do line, may have to move at least one of them forward after seeing this one.
  2. The pick-up is a new/old model from the mid 60's. I built an original issue while a sophomore in high school and I graduated 1967. It has been repopped a few times in different forms, but has mostly maintained its original pieces. This particular one may have an updated decal sheet, and some cleaner molds, but it is still a nostalgic piece of modeling hot rod history. The convertible is also a repop and again may have an updated decal sheet, but is essentially the original kit. I have two of both them, although the convertible is an earlier reissue, and looking forward to doing something with them.
  3. Very pretty double nickel. Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Really like your color combination.
  4. That my friend is some outstanding kit-bashing. Of course there will be some Mercedes purists screaming sacrilege, but who cares. It is so low to the ground, I think it would probably scrape on a new dime. Overall an excellent build, I love everything about it. Two thumbs up, and that is because I only have two thumbs.
  5. Looks like a real strip burner to me. Great job on this build.
  6. Really cool mild custom. Looks like something a young guy would build who just got his first job and had a few extra bucks to put into his car.
  7. Another question along these lines. When did NHRA start requiring roll-bars in SS class, or did they?
  8. I couldn't imagine the shock after a few hours of staring at the broken yellow line, then just looking back and seeing this behemoth in my rear view mirror. I have experienced that shock a couple of times while hauling a car on a trailer behind my pick-up.
  9. Another possibility for flares is using plastic spoons. Cut off as much as you need, glue and putty. Once glued, trim the inner fenders.
  10. Beautiful work. Two mighty fine looking FORDS.
  11. It is possible the MCG sheet for the '60 Starliner may have it. Edit: I just checked my Starliner sheet and it does not have it.
  12. Really nice build of an obscure car. That front end design is alright, but the rear end - well, I think the designer needs to stay away from the Saki.
  13. Is this the piece you are looking for? If so send me your address in a PM and I will send it to you.
  14. Not trying to be a wet blanket, but I have never heard of AMT replacing parts. These kits have been around for awhile and I haven't noticed them on the market recently. Is Model King still in operation?
  15. Beautiful work, keeps my eyes moving around looking at all the details. What scale is this and where did you find all those beautiful COE's.
  16. Just to add to the "phone in the face" frustration, I drive a school bus. Last year I had ten stop-arm violations, eight of them were talking on the phone. There was no legal action taken, because the "law" in NC is you must be able to recognize the vehicles driver. If it is 6:20 a.m in January and it is raining, or the driver has not been on the road sufficient time to defrost their windows, how the h e double hockeysticks can you identify the driver. Or if they have their huge screen IPhone 45 or whatever the latest one is stuck in their face it is almost impossible to even tell their gender. So far I have been lucky and none of my kids have been endangered, but it is only a matter of time.
  17. Love my Ranger, I've owned three over the years. This is a really beautiful build. I especially like the idea of the 5.0 under the hood. My present one has a 4.0 OHC V-6, and has pretty decent power, however I believe that 5.0 would make it a bit better.
  18. Absolutely beautiful 40 Coupe. This particular kit was also the first kit I ever had, got it for Christmas in 1959. As soon as I opened this thread and saw that first photo, waves of nostalgia came over me. Thank you for sharing this one with us.
  19. Very nice work on a beautiful pickup. Especially like the detail on the rear fender XLT.
  20. That would sure make someone driving a Smart Car think twice about trying to cut him off on the highway.
  21. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I had a '74 short bed. It was involved in an accident in '77 and I bought a California StepSide kit for it with Jackman spoke wheels. Later traded it for a '78 King Cab. Really enjoyed both of them.
  22. Excellent looking FORD, but then all of them are. Really like the looks of this one. And it has the tail down attitude rather the nose down of the later years. I think I have a set of those decals. By chance, do you have any more pictures of this build?
  23. Has anybody given any thought to how to dispose of all those dead batteries? I know quite a bit can be recycled, but there are still some really toxic nasties left over.
  24. That is the one I have used for years also. I also have a plastic one, that came with "hold-down" pins to hold the stock in place. All the pins have disappeared and the slots have widened a bit. You get what you pay for.
