  1. I have looked through the pictures several times and I am completely impressed with your attention to detail. Each time I look at it I notice something else, it may be minuscule and unimportant to the overall build, but you have still paid attention to it. Everything about this build is right on target, thanks for sharing it.
  2. Nice collection, also need to add a Chevelle SS 396 - the ultimate street boss in '66.
  3. Beautiful work on this one. Just looks so cool sitting there. I also have one in the line, however it is not planned to be box stock.
  4. Just completed a trade with #1 Model Citizen (John), really pleased with my end. It started out as a single trade and turned into a double trade.
  5. I have bought a couple kits from Michael's, mostly I will talk with the manager and get a reduction on the opened/pilfered kits. I have talked then down to 60% off, but usually it is half-price.
  6. Jaw-dropping beautiful build of a really obscure piece of equipment. I think these are the official vehicle of North Carolina - almost everywhere you go there is one rumbling along some paving project.
  7. Really sweet Falcon. That is a nice color and very good foil work. Good job.
  8. I just went to Drastic Plastic and checked their instruction sheets of the original release, the street machine release, and the Coke release and none of them show any spare tires.
  9. Haven't received a postcard, but then I just renewed around #201 or #202.
  10. Going to watch this build closely. Chopping these older bodies is a real art form and I need all the instruction I can get. So keep those updates coming.
  11. For awhile in the past few years I would do quite a bit of engine detail, not to the point of carb linkages, but wiring and fuel plumbing. Now I have sort of lost that desire and am satisfied with paint detail. I will probably do more with some level of detail, just sort of depends on how I feel. The main thing is I primarily build them for me, although I will occasionally try to build a contest model. Whatever yanks your chain is the way to go.
  12. Looks really good, cool paint color. I have two of these in my stash, I picked them up at a big-box store in Busan, Korea a couple of years ago.
  13. Definitely some mighty fine looking iron. Saved a few for my "future" build file.
  14. Never been much of a fan of these customs, but this one is really sharp. Makes me want to take another look at one. That is one nice paint scheme and choice of colors. Not trying to be critical, but it seems as if the firewall does not fit very well.
  15. Excellent build, everything about it is right on. I especially like the dents along the top of the tailgate; for some reason that usually is one of the first places a work truck gets damaged. You may want to add a bit more oil along the front cross-member under the engine, after all it is a Ford engine.
  16. Excellent work and engineering on an iconic salt flat build. I really appreciate the work you are putting into this build. Glad to see you put the seam around the body where the two halves of the original belly tank were put together, too many do not include that detail. Now more updates please.
  17. The AMT 70 Impala kit has a fuel-injected big-block option and the AMT 69 Ford Galaxie has a fuel-injected SOHC big block, although that is a really poor kit to work with. Hope this helps.
  18. Definitely some exceptional design work. I really like the COE K-Whopper/Motorhome. My only question would be how the cab could tilt with the train boot in place?
  19. Check through the jewelry working section of your nearest craft/hobby store. They use a semi-clear (a bit foggy, not crystal clear) tubing for jewelry work. Just a thought.
  20. OK, everything I have is up for sale. When a 9 year-old can build something that eye-catching I may as well give up and start doing counted cross-stitch. That paint is fun to look at.
  21. Cool build, really like the cage work.
  22. Learned this lesson several years ago. I was wanting to strip a soda can so I could use the aluminum. After a couple of days the can was toast, but the paint was still fairly intact. When I finally broke down and read the directions on the jug of Purple Power it plainly said, "Do not use on metal". Another painful lesson I learned is to ALWAYS check your rubber gloves for pinholes before immersing your hands into the tank to retrieve parts. First thing I do is fill my gloves with water, twist the cuff closed, and apply pressure to see if water is leaking out anywhere, if it is they go into the trash. Purple Power/Super Clean and the other caustic solutions we use will seep into a pinhole and cause caustic burns to any exposed skin.
  23. Maybe drop a 4.3 V-6 into it, not much for the econoboxes. My question/concern is "refueling". I can stop by the gas station and be in and out in a few minutes. How long would it take to get a full charge in a battery powered vehicle? My cell phone takes a couple hours for a full charge - that is a whole lot of cokes and chips at the 7-11 waiting for a fill-up.
  24. Wow, some really neat stuff. That is one beautiful '65/6 Chevrolet drop-top.
  25. Don't really understand why they were attached to the left side front and not the right side rear. They would be more useful on the passenger side.
