  1. Very nice looking old work truck. Used to see a lot like that running around the roads, now everything is jacked-up four-wheel drive with chrome wagon wheels and rubber-band tires, and not a speck of dirt on them. Beautiful build.
  2. Sweet El Camino, that color really sets it off well. I have one in the stash and have built also built one.
  3. Love the Wood Brothers and you have done an excellent job representing this particular car. Very good, clear photographs also.
  4. I have gotten very used to wearing gloves while at the bench, not just for paint sessions. It keeps body oils from getting on the kit surfaces while I am working with them. Occasionally I will super glue a glove finger to a piece, but it is much easier to remove that than a glue fingerprint. I usually get the Harbor Freight 7 mil Nitrile gloves with their 20% coupon, which brings them down to less than $10 for 50 gloves.
  5. Interesting looking truck. Reminds me of the ones I used to see in Thailand, many years ago. They really believed in decoration. Think that Buy-it-now price is a bit over the top. Hobby Search offers similar vehicles for around USD $50 + shipping from Japan. Here is a link: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_c=112&cat=&state=&sold=0&sortid=0&searchkey=Aoshima+1%2f32
  6. Thank you for the pictures. Truly amazing work.
  7. Looks like some excellent work. I definitely would be interested in more pictures.
  8. What irks me is kit pilferers. Went into Hobby Lobby yesterday to see what may be on clearance. I picked up a Revell 57 DelRio Wagon for $14.99. While looking through some of the other stuff came across an AMT Blazer. It appeared to have been rewrapped, the lid did not fit all the way down and there was a slight bulge in the lid. It was marked down to $17.99. I talked with the department manager and asked about the repackaging. She said it may have been done there and if there was anything missing to bring it back. When I got it home, I immediately opened it and began looking through it. Tires, both sets check, chrome tree, check, there was a small tear in one of the bags, so I went to the bottom of the box to see what should be on that particular sprue. After carefully checking I discovered someone had filched the steering wheel. I have bought pilfered kits on several occasions, many were complete, others missing quite a few pieces ('Revell Heavy Chevy- body, interior, chassis, and suspension, everything else gone). If someone is going to risk getting nabbed for shoplifting, why only a steering wheel? At least take the bag of tires.
  9. Outstanding Charger, looks like it just rolled out of the local High-School parking lot back in the early '70s. Of course the kid would have to nail it and "repave" the street. Really like this one.
  10. Excellent build and I see the mechanic left his suspension adjustment, carburetor tuning tool laying on the window sill. Sure wish I could get the hang of weathering like that.
  11. One place I buy plastic is the local sign shop. They do a lot of signs in different thicknesses of styrene and will often have leftovers pieces. The last time I checked with them they had just thrown out a bunch of cut pieces , but I did get a couple pieces of stock they were not sure they would be using. I have asked them to hold their scraps, but they do not have enough space to store anything, so they will not keep the leftovers. Anyway, if there is a sign shop close by check with them. Oh yeah, I am looking forward to your build on this one.. I like building trailers.
  12. I'm not really sure but I think this may be a real car with the engine detail removed. Really beautiful build of one of my favorite Fords. That color combination is simply outstanding. Two thumbs up, because that is all I have.
  13. Simply amazing creativity. Like the way you think out of the box, and the results appear to be a natural part of the build.
  14. Really sweet Ford sleeper. If it is like the car in White Lightening it would also have an automatic transmission along with the four-speed. When "Gator" was running it the sound track had him shifting gears, but when he parked it you could see him put the column-shift lever into Park. Still was a pretty good movie.
  15. Outstanding build. Really loved those old MOPARs, back then I was a strong Chevy man, but still loved to watch these race. You have done an excellent job on this replica.
  16. Super nice looking T-Bolt and that color really pops. I think that new camera will be a keeper.
  17. Excellent artwork. Those are, in my eyes, museum quality.
  18. Let me see if I understand this discussion. The ferrules as shown in the picture are to be used as a distributor body (the yellow part) and the aluminum part will be the shaft. To use them nine pieces of wire would be glued into the yellow piece and routed to the plugs and coil. Is this the idea? If so that would definitely save some headaches, trying to scratchbuild them. Right now I am using different diameters of either styrene tube or aluminum tube.
  19. One of my all-time favorite Fords. You did an excellent job on this one.
  20. Absolutely mean looking machine, except for the blacked out headlights. I had a 65 SS 283 4 speed, loved it, wrecked it, and my dad sold it before I could get the money together to rebuild it. That one just might make me reconsider my affinity for Fords. But it has to be rear wheel drive.
  21. Also love the Rabbit. Owned a 69 in the late 80's, it was a blast to drive. I bought it used and it had a problem of shutting off at some of the most inopportune times, like going down the main drag on the way to work. I took it into a couple of VW specialty shops and they could not find a problem, it never shut off with them. The last one called and said to come get it. When I got there the car was not there, the mechanic told me they had sent a wrecker out to get it. The shop owner had taken it out for one last test drive and it died on him. They finally discovered a phenolic disc in the steering column had a crack in it, the ignition wires were attached to that disc, occasionally the crack would open and of course that would shut off the engine. Problem solved, loved that car. The Revell Street Wheels (?) version is still available, I picked one up at Michael's a couple months ago. Can-Con do you have any other pictures of that turbo set-up in the yellow one? Mr Horsepower 78 I like what you are doing to this one. Keep those updates coming.
  22. One of my favorite non-Fords of all time. That body style is pure sex. This is a good looking build, would like to see some more photos.
  23. Going to be one good looking Impala. Keep those updates coming.
  24. Mighty nice looking Fords and three of my favorite drivers. Looking forward to some updates.
  25. Got mine yesterday and did a quick glance through it. Some of the "Sketch Pad" has got my mind (what there is left) to working. Sure glad to see it, it is like having an old friend you haven't seen in awhile come by for a visit.
