  1. Bugs are such fun to drive. Not a whole lot of neck-snapping power to speak of, but pure fun. Just wondering if the dog is getting ready or has already washed your tires?
  2. Let me rephrase that, it works very well on most paints, but not all.
  3. This stuff works very well. I have been using it for a couple of years.
  4. I stopped by my local HL this morning and they had a few marked down, the Surf Buggy, Soapy Sales F/C, and one other for $10.79, had the Lawman Plymouth for $14.99. Didn't buy any of them, cause I had stopped by Ollie's earlier and spent my budget. Seems the shelves were quite full of some newer releases.
  5. If you could find one of these, bet it would cost almost as much as a 1:1 Love that coupe body.
  6. If that is the same molding as in the 69 Galaxie "some work" is being overly kind.
  7. Those are some good thoughts. Just had a brainstorm, why don't I paint an old body with solid colors and see what works.
  8. Hmmm, 48 views and no responses. Does that mean in order to do ghost flames I will need to use a candy color/
  9. What is the procedure for painting ghost flames when not using candy colors?
  10. Excellent attention to detail, beautiful build. Also like your photography. uncluttered and really shows the model well.
  11. Mighty fine looking Comet. Beautiful replica, and that paint is so smooth. What kit did you score that Ford SOHC engine from?
  12. Really sweet Ford, nice overall detail work. My only advice for better pictures is to have a less cluttered background, oftentimes that will detract from what you are trying to show.
  13. Good looking start on this "barn-find" Chevelle. Keep those updates coming.
  14. I have always liked the Birdcage Maserati and you have built a couple of real beauties. What scale are these? I had one of these as a 1/32 slot car back in the 60's.
  15. I haven't built them, but you can find the instruction sheets here: http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/linberg/
  16. Have to agree with all the other posts. This is one dynamite AMC, that color just fits it right. Nice, clean restoration.
  17. Some very nice work. I especially like that "I6" '55 Ford
  18. Very nice looking old work truck. Used to see a lot like that running around the roads, now everything is jacked-up four-wheel drive with chrome wagon wheels and rubber-band tires, and not a speck of dirt on them. Beautiful build.
  19. Sweet El Camino, that color really sets it off well. I have one in the stash and have built also built one.
  20. Love the Wood Brothers and you have done an excellent job representing this particular car. Very good, clear photographs also.
  21. I have gotten very used to wearing gloves while at the bench, not just for paint sessions. It keeps body oils from getting on the kit surfaces while I am working with them. Occasionally I will super glue a glove finger to a piece, but it is much easier to remove that than a glue fingerprint. I usually get the Harbor Freight 7 mil Nitrile gloves with their 20% coupon, which brings them down to less than $10 for 50 gloves.
  22. Interesting looking truck. Reminds me of the ones I used to see in Thailand, many years ago. They really believed in decoration. Think that Buy-it-now price is a bit over the top. Hobby Search offers similar vehicles for around USD $50 + shipping from Japan. Here is a link: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_c=112&cat=&state=&sold=0&sortid=0&searchkey=Aoshima+1%2f32
  23. Thank you for the pictures. Truly amazing work.
  24. Looks like some excellent work. I definitely would be interested in more pictures.
  25. What irks me is kit pilferers. Went into Hobby Lobby yesterday to see what may be on clearance. I picked up a Revell 57 DelRio Wagon for $14.99. While looking through some of the other stuff came across an AMT Blazer. It appeared to have been rewrapped, the lid did not fit all the way down and there was a slight bulge in the lid. It was marked down to $17.99. I talked with the department manager and asked about the repackaging. She said it may have been done there and if there was anything missing to bring it back. When I got it home, I immediately opened it and began looking through it. Tires, both sets check, chrome tree, check, there was a small tear in one of the bags, so I went to the bottom of the box to see what should be on that particular sprue. After carefully checking I discovered someone had filched the steering wheel. I have bought pilfered kits on several occasions, many were complete, others missing quite a few pieces ('Revell Heavy Chevy- body, interior, chassis, and suspension, everything else gone). If someone is going to risk getting nabbed for shoplifting, why only a steering wheel? At least take the bag of tires.
