  1. Yup, like all Meng kits, it's pricer, but should be a very precise, very detailed high quality kit. I'm getting a couple for sure.
  2. THis might be my fav thread around here.
  3. I wonder what Jamie's real motivation is here. He seems to be selling off the equipment that would make him the most money, and then replaces it with worn out old junk. It's no wonder he can't keep staff. And how do you lure in new staff? "Hey, I don't have any modern state of the art wreckers, but I do have a truck from the 70s. She's old, but has real history. And that one over there was a written off rolled over highway truck, that doesn't really do the job, but sure looks good. I love these old trucks." Personally, I would sell off the old stuff, and streamline the fleet down to two or three new trucks with side pullers and all the fixings, and focus on keeping those busy. I'm guessing COlin gets the rebuilt Pete now. I wonder how OH&S feels about a 13 year old kid climbing all over a wreck at a job site.
  4. I have so many words to describe this, and not one of them is appropriate for this board. I love this!
  5. Is that going to be thick enough to support a hoist? If I had a garage that big, I'd be building that into the cost for sure! Would love to be able to get my cars off the ground. Would make it so much easier to change wheels, do oil changes, change suspension and brakes. I'm salivating just thinking about it.
  6. I'd love a garage like this! Nope! Around here anyway, most buildings get the foundations done, then the structure goes up, then the rebar and flooring in. Not sure why, but it's pretty common.
  7. Cool! Going to map something out tonight. Ideas already flowing!
  8. In my business, I take delivery of a new truck every few months. But this one will be sticking around a while, as it checks all the boxes for me. I drive a similar one last year, and regret letting it move on. So of course, I factory order this one in August, and get excited, then it gets delayed. Ahh well, it's only a week away now!
  9. I've never heard of the Mercury Puma. I dig this a lot!
  10. Can we turn this into the official "Frankenstein" thread? I love these mash ups.
  11. Found out my oft-delayed truck is now sitting at the railyard in Calgary. Will be at the dealer by the end of the week, and in my hands early next week!
  12. I've got the 1998 SS reissue to build. Looks like I'll have some work to do on the nose to make sure I'm happy.
  13. I'll be buying this one for sure. Love the Jeep J trucks.
  14. My dad very briefly had a 1986 Chevy Spectrum. I'd totally buy this kit and mock that up!
  15. Following. Always a fan of modern trucks.
  16. Whoa. I can't see using it on kits, but the guitar refinisher in me just got very interested.
  17. I love the 80s, even though it was a dumb decade. Excellent build!
  18. Recently had some great transactions with Stockboresme, Dragline, and iBorg. Would trade again, zero issues or concerns.
  19. Or C: they reached out to the copyright holder and purchased the rights to use the image.
  20. It's not so bad. For every -30 degree day, we get a 30 degree day. Yeah, we get snow and colder tmeps between November and March, but our summers get nice and warm. We're not always the frozen wasteland we're sometimes made out to be. And it's been years since I've had to fight a polar bear to get a hockey puck back.
  21. So I received some pics yesterday from one of my suppliers. Pretty excited. He owns a company that builds our service bodies. I have a truck in production that's going to get a pretty eyecatching build. Taking this service truck build "next level." Aluminum cabinets, custom paint. The chassis itself is in production, should be arriving at the builder in early December, and the body starts production within the next week or two.
  22. I liek them both, but of the two...VAN.
  23. Currently sunny and not snowing. But it snowed from abotu 8pm Halloween until about midnight last night. Not much snow, only about 2 or 3 inches, but enough to make the roads icy and confuse 3/4 of the drivers out there. Didn't bother me though. I'm a firm believer in making snow tires mandatory here in Alberta. "I have all season tires and four wheel drive, I'll be just fine." Nope, you're wrong. The added traction, and hugely improved ability to stop and turn is just awesome. Like driving on dry pavement. Rant over, I love winter.
  24. Should do a revised poll with only those two options.
  25. It drives me nuts. The guy that can't put on chains becuase he never puts on chains?! GTF off the road. At some point, common sense should take over, and if you don;t have enough of it to realize you need chains in those conditions, then you don't have enough sense to be driving for a living. Lots of snow there. I love winters like that!
