  1. Looking great! Wish they would make a Doka conversion for the T3 bus.
  2. Slowly making progress on my Wild Hoss Bronco. Finally sized and printed some wheels that I think work. Roof rack is printed and sitting right. And I've finally figured out the suspension and how to lift this thing a few scale inches to fit those tires. Will also be getting a new engine, seats, bumpers, and a bunch of accessories.
  3. Looking great so far! Especially on the interior. Just enough weathering on the leather to make it look well used.
  4. To my knowledge, Bill is healthy. He's just enjoying some...time off...for a while. Maybe doing a little reflection.
  5. And for what it's worth, the first couple of Fast & Furious movies were definitely racing movies. Then they turned into car based action movies with no racing to speak of, but had some entertaining car chase scenes.
  6. Logan Lucky - stock car racing is the backdrop. Awesome movie. Cars - better acting than most of the movies mentioned in this thread. ? Need For Speed - not a bad movie at all Death Race - goofy action movie. I liked it. The sequels weren't as good though. Haven't watched them yet, but I noticed On Demand that there's a movie about Lamborghini and one about Gilles Villeneuve. The trailers looked pretty good.
  7. Doesn't look too bad. But I will take your word for it! ? I should probably build the van first anyway.
  8. It will most likely get unlocked at some point. Just need to give it a rest for now, maybe let some people reacquaint themselves with the forum rules. A couple of people get 30 days to think about it. A lot of people are like "there's nothing bad in there at all." Yeah well, that's because you can't see the posts that were deleted, or the reports that people made. "BuT mY POsts WeReN'T pOliTical." Sorry to break it to some of you, but memes about gun violence, Bud Light, discrimination in general, people that have been president, or people that are president are most definitely political.
  9. Thanks! Downloaded, but haven't printed Version 1 yet. Will wait for the update!
  10. Nope. We're done. For those that have the ability to post things that not political or religious in nature, thank you.
  11. I want that Regal woody wagon. And the red Torino. Some nice stuff there!
  12. That would have been my first thought too. But Round2 have just released the new Charger kit, and like you said, there is a lot of diecast out there for Dodge/Ram/Jeep product. So Stellantis is licensing their stuff. Maybe their licenses are prohibitively expensive though?
  13. For offroad machines: Jeep XJ Cherokee - I cannot believe no one has ever done this in kit form. A full detail with the 4.0L inline 6 would be awesome. Lamborghini LM002 - again, how have Tamiya or Fujimi never done this as a kit. Ford F150 Raptor - A full detail version please. Not the simple curbside pseudo-toy kit. Jeep Grand Wagoneer - I would love this.
  14. Looking great so far!
  15. Finish builds...is that even a thing?
  16. Been following him for a long time. I have yet to see anyone come close to what he can do. Just awesome.
  17. I like his comment regarding the inevitable comments about airbrushing. "that's not what we're testing, so shut up." lolz Just like this thread.
  18. Unfortunately, being a Meng kit, it will not be inexpensive! But it will be awesome. I'm mentally preparing myself for the cost. And the fact that my wife will ask about the credit card charge!
  19. I think it's good for people to hear this stuff firsthand. There's a huge difference between a hobbyist 3D printer and someone who is using it as their sole income, and a lot of people don't realize the enormity of that. I've often thought about doing some printing on the side, actually setting up a business. I already have a numbered company I could operate under legally, so that part is easy. But the costs to do it properly, even just as a part timer for fun, is more than I'm willing to take on. Even just looking at the time commitment. Printing, curing, cleaning up the parts, packaging, shipping. I just don't have that much time to commit, while still working full time, and having a family life, and hobbies.
  20. Okay look... Chad, you're right. Shapeways is a more expensive option and is not for everyone. There are other ways to get parts for much less money. However... Charles is also right. People should be compensated for the time they put into designing a part, plus they need to recoup the costs of the equipment and programs they use to design their stuff. And then of course, people should be compensated for their time and equipment when it comes to physically printing a part. Designing parts is super easy for some people. They can crack out a design in less time than it took me to type this post. Others take a while. And what each of those people feel their time is worth is entirely up to them. There are designers that choose to make all of their designs free. And good for them. That's their decision. And there are designers that charge a premium. And good for them. That's their decision. It's the same for printing. Some people will do it for the most basic of costs. Others will charge significantly more. And both are right. I've printed parts for others, and I'm not looking to make a buck. I just want to cover some bare costs. Mainly just the resin used, and shipping. I could probably add $5 or $10 to everything I print and make a little money. But this is not an income source for me. It's a hobby I do for fun, and I've printed for others because sometimes I just like helping people out. For others, it's side business, or even their only business. As such, they need to make a living. And the beauty of the system is that everyone has the ability to choose where they shop and who they buy from. If you feel Shapeways is too expensive, fair enough. I tend to agree, especially in light of what other sources charge for 3d printed parts. However I don't think there is anything shady or nefarious going on with Shapeways. And the people who sell there are not trying to scam people. That is the model they chose for the business, and it's popular, so it obviously works. No one is wrong for doing what fits their needs and their budget. Heck, look at the printing costs for the vendors suggested on Cults. On the design download page, they list a few companies that will print your files for you. Not cheap. but people need to decide for themselves if its worth it to them or not. And there's no wrong answer. Everyone just needs to do what's right for them. Don't worry about what others are doing.
