New Policy Regarding Inappropriate Posts
iamsuperdan replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in How To Use This Board
Just as a note: If you feel the need to censor words in your own posts, then it's probably not a word you should be using. Using a dollar sign instead of an S. Using @ instead of A. Using f*!k instead of.... Well... you know what I mean. Maybe this will help people decide what to write and what not to write. Carry on... -
I miss Mitch Hedburg. My belt holds up my pants and my pants have belt loops that hold up the belt. What's really going on down there? Who is the real hero? I like escalators, because an escalator can never break; it can only become stairs. There would never be an "Escalator Temporarily Out of Order" sign. Only an "Escalator Temporarily Stairs... Sorry for the Convenience." I find that a duck's opinion of me is very much influenced over whether or not I have bread. I had a paper route when I was a kid. I was a paperboy. I was supposed to go to 2,000 houses... or two dumpsters. I don't have a girlfriend. But I do know a girl who would get really mad if she heard me say that. One time a guy handed me a picture, he said "Here's a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is when you were younger. I order the club sandwich all the time. And I'm not even a member, man. I don't know how I get away with it. I have no problem not listening to The Temptations, which is weird. I got a king size bed. I don't know any kings, but if one came over, I guess he would be comfortable I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it.

Fall is here. The weather is cooler, the summertime bugs are gone, and walking the dog out at the lake is much nicer now.

Have you inadvertently adjusted screen size? Hold down the CTRL key and spin the scroll wheel on your mouse. Should make the screen size bigger or smaller.

Dark Horse S for the strip. Dark Horse R for roadracing. I don't mind the new dash. Kind of reminds me of the Fox body dash, with the big rectangle sitting on a flat "shelf." Kind of. Old. The new EcoBoost dash, two screens. The GT dash. One big screen. The digital Fox body graphic is cool though. Would totally use that one.

My first kit. When I was really young, like probably 5 or 6, I had a hospital stay. My parents brought in a kit. I'm pretty sure it was the Lindberg Buick. I remember the swooping body line on the front fenders. I vaguely being into Kojak, and I think he had a Buick. I don't even know if that kit made it out of the hospital with me. I can't remember what my first real build was, but I remember some of the early ones. And I remember my first truck kit being one of the Monogram 1:32 Peterbilt trucks. I build a a few of those old snappers. As for kits I built and still have? Monogram 1:24 Superbird. I built two, still have the pieces. One is being rebuilt. Italeri Mercedes truck. It's a wreck, but I think it's complete. Will do a rebuild eventually.

Seems to be one of those colours that changes dramatically depending on how the light hits it. I like it!

What did you see on the road today?
iamsuperdan replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No lemon laws here in Canada, but there are things one can do. Canada does have the Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan which can be used to settle disputes. That only works on vehicles bought from dealers though. And they need to be less than 4 years old and under 160,000km. People generally don't know about this though. Private sales though or if you purchase from a fleet management company, there's not much you can do. Totally agree. Honda makes a good car, but they are incredibly dull. Even the original NSX! Great looking car, handled like a dream, all the performance you could want, but no personality. Feels like driving a fast Accord. Wholesaled it out to a Honda dealer. Whatever problems may exist, they're not going to be ours! -

Oh, we picked the car up for a good price. It's strange though, because Honda are typically known for their quality. But, he provided work orders from day 1, so he was having legit issues. All taken into account when we took it on trade. -
My cat allergy is acting up just by watching that video. ?

Ran the leasing division of a fleet management company with upwards of 13,000 vehicles. As part of my role, I was responsible for all staffing decisions in 3 locations, from entry level washbay staff, to detailers, to sales/lease people, to administration support. Did that for 10 years. I'd say I have some real-world perspective on the challenges of staffing. And with rare exception, hiring for all positions was easy. Interviews weeded out the lazy pretty quick. In only a couple of cases did a slacker get hired. And then they left pretty quickly too, as soon as their work ethic became obvious. I've found that a lot of the time, when a company consistently cannot find or retain employees, it usually has just as much to do with management than with the employees. Word gets out pretty quick when a company is run by incompetent management or ego-inflated narcissists.

Meh, the "nobody wants to work" thing has been around for 100 years. Apparently, there has never been a generation that wanted to work. And it's been fact checked. The articles shown are real. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/nobody-wants-to-work-anymore/

I figured it would be something like that. Will assume that Round2 will create some actual new box art for it and not just do what their rendering shows. I thought AMT's truck was the previous generation. I know Revell did a Supercab flareside. And a regular cab longbox. I too hope it's the stock version!

Umm...why does that Lindberg kit have an AMT logo added...perhaps using MS Paint? Anyway, I like truck kits. I'll be picking one up for sure if it comes to fruition.

Fugimi Lamborghini Countache 5000 qv: WIP
iamsuperdan replied to David G.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
I recognized the design instantly. The white border around the picture, the location and font used underneath. There was a whole series of these made, and IO remember seeing them in auto parts stores and I believe in bookstores too. I had the Lambo and a Porsche 911 slantnose. -

Whoa. I had that same poster on my wall! I thought that front wing was just so cool. I see Gallardos and Huracans quite often, but none make me stop and stare like a Countach. Looking forward to seeing more!
