  1. The wire wheels arrived and I am not going to use them, they are nothing like the Monogram parts,I did not pay much so no big loss and could definately use the tires that came with them.
  2. Not sure if I want to use the wires and will most likely use steel rims and 40 hub caps with big and little tires,I just can not build completely stock.
  3. The motor is painted and made a air cleaner that looks similar to a original.
  4. Not too impressed with this kit,the inner fenders attach to the frame and are too big and make the front of the body sit too high. Had to do some grinding on them to get it down where it looks better,I built one years ago and probably left those off.
  5. I will check with the hobby shop to see if they can order it.
  6. Building a 34 Ford coupe and want to paint it dark blue, the last time I was at the hobby shop where I buy Tamiya paints I did not see anything close so anyone know of a dark blue similar to Washington blue.
  7. I have a Monogram A motor on the way and if I can find the body parts for the Monogram 34 it will also be built as a 4 cylinder version which might take some time to do.
  8. I started a thread on the build.
  9. The last one I built I used the whole frame from the Revell 40 standard and on the other two I cut up the frames from the monogram 40 p/u for the rear suspension and the front crossmembers.
  10. I got a set of the 34 p/u wire wheels coming and need to find the front suspension.
  11. I have built every 37 kit,all but one got a traditional suspension.
  12. I really wanted to use my Monogram parts but it might take awhile to find the body parts needed so I found a AMT 5 window that had a complete body and a couple A motors at the hobby shop today. Not sure if I am going to use wire wheels or steel rims but have a set of 40 rims.
  13. I picked up a unbuilt AMT 34 5 window that is missing the motor and the suspension for this project along with a couple AMT model A motors.
  14. When you have parts for over 10 years that you think you will never use then give them away and then the need for them arises,it happens all the time in the garage so it should not suprise me that it will happen with model parts too. I had the hopped up 4 banger from a Revell model A kit and I think I gave it to someone on here but now I am building a 34 Ford with a 4 cylinder and would have been perfect for it,I have gotten so much help on here in finding parts so I am glad I could help in getting someone parts they were looking for so its worth it.
  15. A few years ago I bought a built one off Ebay and it had big and little tires on the stock wire rims so other then making it a coupe or cabriolet what other tire/rim options could that kit have to have the big and little tires.
  16. If I want to build this soon I will probably be finding a AMT 5 window coupe and a 1/25 Model A,now I wish I would have not gotten rid of the 4 banger speed parts from a Revell kit and could of built a hotrod 4 banger.
  17. I do have a built Monogram A that I can rob the motor from but I might keep that one stock, now if I can find a 1/24 Y block then the A will be rebuilt as a hotrod.
  18. I am going to hunt down the parts from the 60s kit since I have some of those and the 90s version but not everything I need,if I can come up with another 90s kit for the chassis I do have a 60s kit built stock that I can rob the chassis from if I can get it apart without breaking since it was heavily glued..
  19. I am going to be weird and build a 4 cylinder version and was wondering if a stock 34 kit is being made today,I have some of the parts from the 60s Monogram kit and the 90s kit to possibly build one if I can find the parts I am missing. I did some research and the 33/34 4 cylinder motor looks alot like a model A motor so I want to try it.
  20. I have also notice the bottles need to be stirred up before every use where years ago it did not need to be,looks like government got to them or they are trying to make them cheaper.
  21. Supposively there were less then 1000 made so I am building one with the sedan fenders and will try to get the 39 grille to look similar to the 40 standard version,I am using the chassis from the sedan I built back in the mid 70s and a Olds motor from a sedan kit. Was not going to build another 40 so soon after the others but I found the parts I needed and will build it while waiting on paint and glue to dry on other projects.
  22. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the paint seems to be thinner and needs more then one coat to look good,I do not remember it being like this years ago but I know nothing stays the same.
  23. I am glad to see there are more being built, here is a picture of all that I have. One stock coupe and another coupe with the custom grille on the 90s chopped top street rod chassis with the Pontiac motor, the stock chassis from it went under the 90s body with the 60s convertible parts. There is another 90s version with the 60s convertible parts and a ZZ Top coupe.
  24. Starting to look like a car
